Xiao Hui Xiang (Foeniculum Vulgare Fruit) is roasted on a yin-yang tile until the internal properties are preserved. It is ground into powder. Each dose is three qian, taken with yellow wine.
Suo Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus Rotundus) in any quantity is placed in an ironing head and stir-fried over slow fire until thoroughly cooked. After peeling, it is ground into powder. Each dose is two qian, taken mixed with warm wine. Soon after, fetal movement and fever occur, indicating that the fetus is safe; this method is most miraculous.
Ejiao (Donkey-Hide Gelatin) and Bobo Fen (Pigeon Droppings) (each three qian)
Are stir-fried together, ground into powder, and taken with boiling water. Even if there is vaginal bleeding, the pregnancy will be secured; it is incredibly effective.
Quan Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, washed with wine, eight qian), Zhen Chuan Xiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong, three qian), Jiang Hui (Ash of Ginger, five fen, four fen in summer), Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, honey-fried, five fen), Tao Ren (Semen Persicae, ten grains, peeled and crushed).
When nearing the month of delivery, prepare two doses according to this prescription. Wait for one contraction, then use two zhong of water to decoct the first dose. Set aside the dregs. Decoct the second dose, then combine the dregs from both decoctions and boil them together. Obtain three zhong of liquid, mix them together, heat until warm, add six or seven spoons of yellow wine, and take immediately after childbirth, before consuming any food. This promotes blood circulation to eliminate stasis and generates new blood, permanently preventing postpartum disorders. If within two or three days one feels mentally fatigued or has abdominal pain, continue taking two or three more doses until recovery. It can also treat all critical postpartum conditions, ensuring immediate stability.
This formula and Dasheng Tang were both established by Mr. Zhang Mengshen as a remedy for suffering. They can be used regardless of whether it is a full-term or premature delivery, with miraculous effects. For various postpartum conditions, Shenghua Tang should always be the principal formula; others are merely modifications based on symptoms. If lochia has flowed and abdominal pain has ceased, remove Tao Ren; taking several more doses is harmless. If thirsty, add Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix) and Huafen (Trichosanthis Radix). If cold pain occurs, add Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex) and Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus). If injured by meat, add Shanzha (Crataegi Fructus). If injured by rice/food, add Maiya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus). If injured by fruit, add Caoguo (Tsaoko Fructus) wrapped in flour and roasted, a few fen. If injured by sour plums, add Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus), three to five fen. If injured by water chestnut, add Sheng Guiban (Plastrum Testudinis). If injured by pear or watermelon, add Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex), etc.
Gu Ke (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum, preferably from naturally deceased turtles, those used for divination are secondary, boiled ones are not suitable), Nü Fa (Capilli Humani, a handful, preferably from men or women, preserved property), Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, washed with wine), Chuan Xiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong) (each one liang).
The above are ground into powder. Each dose is three qian, decocted with one and a half zhan of water and taken orally. Approximately when a person walks five li, the fetus will be delivered.
