Take one sheng of large black soybeans. Soak them in water for a full day and night. Drain the water, prepare a jar, and put the beans inside. Seal the mouth with coarse raw cloth, cover it with a bowl or mortar. Build bricks around the four sides, and use white charcoal fire on top. Take it out when the clock strikes four (early morning). Collect the bean oil from within the bowl/mortar, let it cool, and apply it to the affected area. Multiple applications will lead to recovery.
Take ten jin of raw Guanzhong (Cyrtomium fortunei Rhizome), preferably large ones. Cut into pieces, stir-fry until dry, and grind into fine powder. Sieve it, then soak it thoroughly in urine from a young boy, sun-dry, soak again, and sun-dry again. Repeat this process three to five times. Finally, sun-dry and store for use. When using, mix with raw Tung Oil (Verniciae Folii Oleum) and apply externally. If blisters have formed and exuded fluid, dry them out (KT zhi), and it will heal. This medicine must be prepared during the Dog Days (Sanfu period).
Use Shuilinggu (Water Dragon Bone, i.e., alum used in old boats for caulking with Tung Oil). Sun-dry and grind into fine powder. Soak thoroughly in juice of Chinese Chive (Allii Tuberosi Bulbus), sun-dry, then moisten with bile of cattle (Bovis Calculus), mix well, sun-dry again, and grind into powder. Dry it out (KT zhi) and it will heal.
Gather wild green vegetables, dry them in the shade, and make into pills. Each pill weighs one qian. Take three or four pills in total, and it will heal.
Gather wild Amaranthus (Amaranthi Tricoloris Herba), mash it, and apply it to fill an egg. Use a long strand of white hemp thread to secure the medicated egg. Take a fermented tofu jar, pour in seven parts vinegar and one wine cup of liquor, place the egg inside the jar, pinch the end of the thread, insert it into the nostril, and inhale once or twice for complete recovery.
