Commentary states: Cough and vomiting are caused by the Lung and Stomach both being affected by Cold pathogenic factors. Generally, the Lung prefers warmth to ensure the free flow of Qi, and the Stomach requires warmth to transform food. Although these two Zang-Fu organs differ in nature, their shared characteristic is aversion to Cold. When the Lung is affected by slight Cold, it manifests as cough; when Cold flows into the Stomach, it results in vomiting. The *Nei Jing* (Inner Canon) states: "The manifestation of Stomach cough involves coughing accompanied by vomiting," and also says: "Pathogenic factors gather in the Stomach and relate to the Lung." This refers to the aforementioned condition.
