论曰内经谓因而饱食，筋脉横解，肠 为痔，夫痔病之候亦多矣，此独举饱食一端者
，盖饮食人之大欲存焉，推此则它可触类而知也。巢元方能拾其说而备论之，故曰诸痔皆由
伤风，房室不慎，醉饱合阴阳，故劳扰血气而经脉流溢，渗漏肠间，冲发下部所致也。曰牡
痔者，肛边生鼠乳，乳出在外，时出脓血是也，曰牝痔者，肛边肿，生疮而出血者是也，曰
脉痔者，肛边生疮，痒而复痛出血是也。曰肠痔者，肛边肿核痛，发寒热而血出是也。曰血
痔者，因便而清血随出是也。孙思邈有所谓气痔者，寒温劳湿即发，亦忧患劳伤所致也，集
验方有所谓酒痔者，乃牝痔别名也。治法禁忌，唯孙思邈之论为详。
论曰痔有五名，一曰牡痔，二曰牝痔，三曰脉痔，四曰肠痔，五曰血痔。证虽小异，大
率皆饮食饱甚，情欲过度之所致也，饮食饱则肠胃伤，情欲过则气血耗，毒瓦斯乘虚，流入下
部，所以 积而为痔也。
治五痔肿痛，下血不止，或荣卫滞涩，身体疼痛，大便风秘不通。能消丸方

上三味，捣罗为末，炼蜜为丸，如梧桐子大。每服五十丸，荆芥汤下，不计时候。

上四味。用生面旋起酵，作一 饼料，拍匀裹药，置火上炙，其饼香熟，乃去饼。捣
药二百杵，如药干即以面糊润之，为丸梧桐子大，每服二十丸，空心木瓜汤下，其药仍不可
复犯火。
治痔疾。胜金丸方
雌黄（半两研） 白矾（一两研） 麝香（一大钱研）
上三味，再研匀，酽醋半盏，银石器中，慢火熬至一半，倾乳钵内研匀，再倾入铫内，
熬成膏，更入麝香少许研，更入蒸饼心少许和丸，绿豆大。每服夜卧温浆水下十丸，仍用一
丸，手心中浆水化开，涂痔上，三年者三五服瘥。
治痔疾。乌鸡子膏方
没药（半两研） 麝香（一钱研）
上二味，用乌鸡子一枚，略取破顶头倾出，却用鸡子黄入鸡卵内，续入药末，同黄一处
调匀，用纸糊合顶，于饭上炊令熟为度，分作四服。细嚼用麦门冬汤下，食前服。
治痔。能消丸方

上二味，捣罗为末，醋面糊丸，梧桐子大。每服二十丸，至三十丸。米饮下。

上炙熟细嚼，以酒半升送下，候腹痛如人行五七里，方上厕，取下脓血及虫，只一服。

上一味，用瓷瓶子一枚，纸数重，砖一片压口，次用炭火笼作火炉烧 橘，候烟去九
分存性，只置瓶内，急以纸并砖子压口，候冷为细散，每服二钱匕，麝香温酒，或陈米饮调

治五痔。小香连丸方

上一味，捣罗为末，以鸡子清和丸，梧桐子大阴干，每服十五丸，于鸡鸣时声未绝间温
酒下，十服取效，永不复发。
治痔疾。地肤子散方

洗痔藜芦汤方

熏洗痔疾。神妙汤方

上六味，等分，锉碎，每用一二两，以水两碗，煎数沸盆盛，坐熏痔，候通手洗之。
治五痔，消毒。没药散方

上五味，并研令匀，每用时，先以葱汤洗拭净，以药干敷。
治五痔。花乳石散方

上五味，等分，捣罗为散，先煎葱汤洗，后用药散一钱匕涂之，久患不过三度。
治一切痔疾。应痛散方
荆芥穗 桑根白皮 地榆（各一两）
上三味，捣罗为散，每用三钱匕，水一碗，同 橘二枚拍破，一处煎三五沸倾出。就
熏疮，极痛，候下得手时，方可淋渫，仍服后药。
治一切痔疾。至圣丸方
橘（一百枚去核瓤锉） 枳壳（去瓤锉半斤） 黄连（去须五两）
上三味，用麸五升，同于银石器内，慢火炒令麸黑为度，于地上去火毒，不用麸。将药
为细末，用皂子一百枚去黄，以水一升，于银石器内，煮令熟烂如膏，与前药末同拌和丸，
梧桐子大，每服二十丸，温米饮下，不拘时日三。
熏洗诸痔。五物散方

上四味，捣罗为散，汤磨乳香，调令稀稠得所，摊故帛上贴之，次日连皮拆下，更无疮
瘢甚妙。
治丈夫妇人久患痔，不论有疮无疮。四香汤方
莎草根（一两） 黑狗脊（半两） 甘松 黄熟香（上好极香者各一分）
上四味，粗捣筛，每用五钱匕，水一碗，煎五七沸，盛在深盆中，便令患者于上面坐，
围衣被熏之，勿透气，候下得手，便淋渫患处，直候药冷即止，不得揩拭，便盖复卧一时许
，若渫了，临卧将被以火焙稍暖，更妙。
治痔疾，已用药淋渫了，贴痔。绿云汤方
卷柏 樗根白皮 贯众 朴消 地骨皮（各一两）
上五味，粗捣筛，每用十五钱匕，葱二枝，水五升，煮至四升，去滓乘热渫之。
涂痔。二黄散方
黄柏（一两） 黄蜀葵花（一分） 白芨（二钱） 生干地黄（半两） 青黛（二块）
上五味，捣罗为散，先渫了，用朴消水调涂之。
贴痔。苦楝散方
苦楝子（二十枚） 白矾（一两）
上二味，炒焦为散，入麝香研匀，临卧贴之，空心吃嫩猪肥肉一顿，永差。
熏痔丸方

上二味，捣罗为末，面糊丸弹子大，火烧熏之。

上一味，不拘多少阴干不得见日，用慢火煨成烟熏，候痒甚，别用后方渫洗。

恶实（一名牛蒡子）
上一味，不拘多少，淘去浮者，每用一两，以水两碗浓煎，乘热熏之，候通手淋渫。
治痔疾。 橘散方
橘 皂荚子
上二味，不拘多少，每一臭橘，札眼子七个，每眼子内，安皂子一枚，放在藏瓶内，烧
存性取出，于土内培，出火毒一宿，细研入麝香少许，食前米饮调下一钱匕。
治痔疾。枸杞散方
枸杞根 地龙（捣）
上二味，枸杞根旋取新者，刮去浮赤皮，只取第二重薄白皮曝干，捣罗为末，每秤一两
，别入地龙末一钱和匀，先以热 汁洗渫患处，用药干掺，日可三次用。
治痔疾下部发肿，如梅李大，痛硬不能行者，实时取效。神白散方
半夏（齐州者）
上一味，每用一枚，研令极细，入龙脑一小皂子许，同研匀，用津唾于手心调令稀稠得
所，摊软纸上贴之，即冷如冰，良久有清水出渐消矣。如未全愈，再贴，去根本尤妙。
治痔疾。熏敷立效散方
蜣螂（七枚夜飞扑落者尤妙）
论述说：《内经》提到因为饱食过度，导致筋脉松弛横解，肠道发生痔疮。痔疮病的症状表现很多，这里唯独列举饱食这一原因，是因为饮食是人的主要欲望所在，推究这一点，其他原因就可以触类旁通地知道了。巢元方采纳了这种说法并详细论述，所以说各种痔疮都是由于受风邪、房事不慎、醉酒后行房等原因，导致劳扰气血，经脉血液流溢，渗漏到肠间，冲击发作于下部所致。所谓牡痔，是指肛门旁边长出像老鼠乳房一样的赘生物，突出在外，时常流出脓血；所谓牝痔，是指肛门旁边肿胀，生疮出血；所谓脉痔，是指肛门旁边生疮，先痒后痛并出血；所谓肠痔，是指肛门旁边有肿核疼痛，伴有寒热症状且出血；所谓血痔，是指排便时清血随之流出。孙思邈有所谓的气痔，遇到寒温变化、劳累或湿气侵袭就会发作，这也是由忧患和劳伤引起的。《集验方》有所谓的酒痔，实际上是牝痔的别名。关于治疗方法和禁忌，只有孙思邈的论述最为详尽。
论述说：痔疮有五种名称，一是牡痔，二是牝痔，三是脉痔，四是肠痔，五是血痔。证候虽然略有不同，但大体上都是由饮食过饱、情欲过度所导致的。饮食过饱会损伤肠胃，情欲过度会耗损气血，毒气乘虚而入，流入下部，所以积聚形成痔疮。
治疗五种痔疮肿痛、下血不止，或者营卫运行滞涩、身体疼痛、大便因风邪秘结不通的能消丸方：
威灵仙（去苗土十两）、木香、防风（去叉各二两）。
以上三味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用炼蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次服用五十丸，用荆芥汤送服，不限时间。
治疗五种痔疾的槐实丸方：
槐实（一两）、黄芩（锉碎）、枳实（去瓤麸炒至黄色）、贯众、白术、肉豆蔻仁、防风（去叉）、荆芥（另研）、木香。
以上十五味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用面糊制成梧桐子大小的丸药。饭前用米饮送服三十丸，晚上再服一次。
治疗五种肠风泻血痔的抵圣枳壳丸方：
枳壳（去瓤麸炒）、威灵仙（去苗土）、陈橘皮（去白焙干）、续断（各二两）、生干地黄（焙干）、连翘、槐实（炒）、附子（炮裂去皮脐）、当归（切焙）、干姜（炒）、白矾（煅过）、人参、羌活（二两）。
以上十五味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用炼蜜调和制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次服用三十丸，空腹时用温陈米饮送服，疼痛者当天见效。
治疗五种痔疮及肠风下血的立圣丸方：
枳壳（去瓤麸炒二两半）、五倍子（去灰土）、黄芩（蜜炙黄锉）、槐花、槐荚（各二两）、猪大肠（一枚，用竹刀切成片状）、皂荚针（四挺，用炭火烧尽烟）。
以上十三味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用炼蜜调和制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次服用五十丸，最多一百丸，空腹时用温酒送服。
治疗各种痔疮的如圣散方：
白皮（二枚烧存性）、鸡冠花（炒）、皂荚针（炙，各二两）、栝蒌（一枚烧存性）、胡桃（十枚烧存性）、槐实（二两）、白矾、绿矾（各二两）。
以上十一味药，捣碎过筛成散剂。每次服用二钱匕，用酒调服，也可以做成丸药服用。
治疗五种痔疾的如圣丸方：
枳壳（去瓤麸炒）、威灵仙（去土）、陈橘皮（去白，各一两）、续断（炒）、白矾（飞过）、当归（切焙）、槐荚子（各半两）。
以上十一味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用炼蜜调和制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次服用十丸，空腹饭前用陈粟米饮送服，每日两次。如果是多年老病，可增加丸药数量；疼痛严重的，当天见效。此药能治疗积年旧患，患病二十年以上的，只可服用十次；新患的服用两三服即可停止，不再复发。
治疗肠风痔疾的黑神散方：
羌活（去芦头）、黄芩（锉碎）、黄荆实、蔓荆实、狗脊（火燎去毛）、枳壳（去瓤麸炒）、槟榔、栝蒌（各等分）。
以上八味药，除栝蒌外，其余等分捣碎过筛成粉末，放入栝蒌中，在沙合或瓦罐内，用盐泥密封固济，用火烧至通红，冷却后取出药末，另外准备以下药物：
荆芥子、白芜荑（这两味与前药等分）、木香（比前药减半）。
以上十一味药，捣碎过筛成散剂。每次服用一钱匕，空腹时用茶酒调服，每日三次。
治疗痔疮的诰敕丸方：
连翘、附子（炮裂去皮脐）、桂枝（去粗皮）、槐荚、白矾（飞枯）、杜仲（去粗皮锉炒）、枳壳（各等分）。
以上十味药，等分捣碎过筛成粉末，用炼蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次服用十丸，空腹饭前用米饮送服，每日三次。此方曾有人在诰敕文书后偶然见到，屡试屡效，故以此命名。
治疗五种痔疮的 皮丸方：
皮（一枚，细锉炒至黄色）、续断、槐荚子、黄芩（锉碎）、当归（切焙）、干姜（炮制）、连翘（各等分）。
以上十味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用炼蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次服用二十丸，空腹用黍米酒送服，再服可加至三十丸，病情重的尤其适宜服用此药。
治疗肠风五痔的如神丸方：
乌蛇（酒浸去皮骨炙）、大黄（湿纸裹煨）、防风（去叉，各二两）、黄芩（锉碎）、枳壳（去瓤麸炒）、当归（切焙）、羌活（各一两半）。
以上九味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用炼蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每天空腹用温酒送服三十丸，夜间睡觉前再服一次，当天即可止血止痛。
治疗五种痔疮的三香丸方：
乳香（半两研细）、安息香、密陀僧（研细，各一分）、巴豆（七粒去皮油）、丹砂（研细）、麝香（研细）。
以上八味药，分别研细混合均匀，用水化开炊饼制作成绿豆大小的丸药。每次服用一丸，空腹用冷茶清送服。
治疗一切痔疮疾病、面色萎黄的密陀僧丸方：
密陀僧（烧至通红）、白矾灰（各一两）、槐子仁（微炒）、鸡冠花、铛墨（各半两）、皂荚灰（各半两）。
以上六味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用面糊制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次服用二十丸，煎柏叶汤送服，空腹饭前服用。
治疗痔疮疾病的 皮散方：
皮（一枚）、黄牛角（一对）、鲮鲤甲（二两）、猪牙皂荚、野猪肉（各一两）、旧箬叶（若干）。
以上六味药，用一只新瓶盛装，新瓦片盖口，用纸泥封干后，用火烧至通红，冷却后取出，研为细散。加入少许麝香，每次服用二钱匕，用一枚胡桃仁分成两份，取一份与药同研细，温酒调下。久患不过五七服即可痊愈，夜间深睡时服用。
治疗痔疮疾病的神验散方：
当归（切焙一两）、白矾（二两）、桑蛾（二两，选黄紫色的）、木耳（二两）。
以上四味药，捣碎过筛成散剂。每次服用一钱匕，用粟米粥调下，空腹饭前服用。
治疗五种痔疾、肠风泻血、外痔内痔及脱肛，下部四周有肉赘如乳头状的异功散方：
黄牛角（一枚碎）、蛇蜕皮（一条白色的）、猪牙皂荚（五梃锉碎）、鲮鲤甲（半两）。
以上四味药，放入瓷瓶内，用黄泥密封固济待干，先用小火烧令出烟，后用大火烧至通红为止，取出摊凉，捣碎过筛成散剂。先用胡桃肉一枚，分成四分，取一分，临睡前细研如糊状，温酒调下便睡，先引出虫体，到五更天时，用温酒服药散二钱匕，到辰时再服一次。即使患病多年，不超过三服即可痊愈。
治疗痔疮的木瓜丸方：
木瓜（一两，切作片晒干为末，三分中留一分下药）、槟榔（二枚为末）、白矾（一两为末）、甜硝（一分）。
以上四味药。用生面揉起酵，做一个饼料，拍匀包裹药物，放在火上烤炙，待饼香熟，去掉饼。将药捣二百杵，如果药干就以面糊润湿，制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次服用二十丸，空腹用木瓜汤送服，此药不可再次接触火。
治疗痔疮疾病的胜金丸方：
雌黄（半两研细）、白矾（一两研细）、麝香（一大钱研细）。
以上三味药，再次研匀，在半盏浓醋中，用银石器慢火熬至一半，倒入乳钵内研匀，再倒入铫内，熬成膏，再加入少许麝香研匀，再加入少许蒸饼心调和制成绿豆大小的丸药。每次夜间用温浆水送服十丸，仍用一丸，在手心中用浆水化开，涂在痔疮上，三年病程者三五服可愈。
治疗痔疮疾病的乌鸡子膏方：
没药（半两研细）、麝香（一钱研细）。
以上两味药，用乌鸡蛋一枚，略破顶头倒出蛋清，将鸡蛋黄放回蛋壳内，接着加入药末，与蛋黄一起调匀，用纸糊合顶头，放在饭上蒸熟为止，分成四份服用。细嚼后用麦门冬汤送服，饭前服用。
治疗痔疮的能消丸方：
威灵仙（净洗麸炒）、蝉壳（净洗去土足焙干，各一两）。
以上两味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用醋面糊制成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次服用二十丸，至三十丸，用米饮送服。
治疗痔疮疾病的百中散方：
萆薢（不计多少）。
以上一味药，捣碎过筛成散剂。每次服用二钱匕，精羊肉四两，批作四片，撒药后合拢如包子状，在炭火上烤熟细嚼，以酒半升送下，等待腹痛如人行走五七里路时，才上厕所，排出脓血及虫体，只需一服。
治疗痔疮疾病的 橘散方：
橘（不拘多少）。
以上一味药，用瓷瓶子一个，垫数层纸，砖一片压口，然后用炭火笼作火炉烧 橘，待烟去九分存其本性，只置于瓶内，急以纸和砖子压紧瓶口，冷却后研为细散。每次服用二钱匕，用麝香温酒或陈米饮调下。
治疗五种痔疮的小香连丸方：
黄连（麸炒焦黄色，不拘多少）。
以上一味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用鸡蛋清和丸，梧桐子大小阴干。每次服用十五丸，在鸡鸣时分声音未绝之间用温酒送服，十服见效，永不复发。
治疗痔疮疾病的地肤子散方：
地肤子。
以上一味药，不拘多少，在新瓦上焙干，捣碎过筛成散剂。每次服用三钱匕，用陈粟米饮调下，每日三次。
洗痔藜芦汤方：
藜芦、附子（锉碎）、莽草、蛇床子、羌活、独活、当归、苦参、芍药（各一两）、蜀椒（去目）。
以上十味药，粗捣筛，每次用两撮，用生绢袋盛装，加上桑松柏枝各一握，生姜一块拍破，在银石器中，加水三碗，煎熟去渣，倒入容器中，趁热熏蒸，待温度适宜时清洗。
熏痔七物汤方：
干虾蟆（一枚锉碎）、皂荚（三梃锉碎）、艾叶（一握）、鳖甲（二枚碎）、雄黄（一两）、麝香（少许）。
以上七味药，粗捣筛，拌匀，在地上挖坑，放入一斤熟火，放一片方砖，中心钻孔，盖住坑口，随即投入药末一撮，披衣坐上熏蒸。
熏洗痔疾的神妙汤方：
萆薢、栝蒌根、甘草（锉碎）、五倍子、豉、葱白（切）。
以上六味药，等分锉碎，每次用一二两，加水两碗，煎数沸盛入盆中，坐盆熏痔，待温度适宜时清洗。
治疗五种痔疮，消毒的没药散方：
没药（一两研细）、黄矾、白矾、溺白（火煅，各半两）、麝香（一钱研细）。
以上五味药，并研令均匀，每次用时，先以葱汤洗净拭干，用药粉干敷。
治疗五种痔疮的花乳石散方：
花乳石（一两研细）、乳香（去石研）、夜明沙（研）、胆矾（研）、地龙（去土为细末）。
以上五味药，等分共研令均匀，每次用时，先以甘草汤洗净拭干，用药粉干敷，令痔疮消散。
涂痔黄柏散方：
黄柏、铅丹、黄连、腻粉、白矾。
以上五味药，等分捣罗为散，先煎葱汤清洗，后用药散一钱匕涂之，久患不过三次。
治一切痔疾应痛散方：
荆芥穗、桑根白皮、地榆（各一两）。
以上三味药，捣罗为散，每用三钱匕，水一碗，同 橘二枚拍破，一处煎三五沸倾出。就熏疮，极痛，候下得手时，方可淋渫，仍服后药。
治一切痔疾至圣丸方：
橘（一百枚去核瓤锉）、枳壳（去瓤锉半斤）、黄连（去须五两）。
以上三味药，用麸五升，同于银石器内，慢火炒令麸黑为度，于地上去火毒，不用麸。将药为细末，用皂子一百枚去黄，以水一升，于银石器内，煮令熟烂如膏，与前药末同拌和丸，梧桐子大，每服二十丸，温米饮下，不拘时日三。
熏洗诸痔五物散方：
莨菪子（二两）、白矾（一两通明者半两生用半两铁器内盛慢火 过）、硼砂、马牙硝（各...）。
以上五味药，用百沸汤一大碗，药末五钱匕浸，熏洗痔痛处，食后夜卧用，先以衣覆护，只留痔疮处，仍避风。
敷贴诸痔木香散方：
木香、槟榔（大者锉）、黄连（各一分）、莽草叶（半两）。
以上四味药。捣罗为散，每用五钱匕，水二碗，煎三二沸，熏洗后，用温水调匀，以纸花子贴之。
治莲花痔，及鸡冠痔等，贴痔四妙散方：
白芨、白蔹、木鳖子、桑螵蛸（各半两）。
以上四味药，捣罗为散，汤磨乳香，调令稀稠得所，摊故帛上贴之，次日连皮拆下，更无疮瘢甚妙。
治丈夫妇人久患痔，不论有疮无疮四香汤方：
莎草根（一两）、黑狗脊（半两）、甘松、黄熟香（上好极香者各一分）。
以上四味药，粗捣筛，每用五钱匕，水一碗，煎五七沸，盛在深盆中，便令患者于上面坐，围衣被熏之，勿透气，候下得手，便淋渫患处，直候药冷即止，不得揩拭，便盖复卧一时许，若渫了，临卧将被以火焙稍暖，更妙。
治痔疾，已用药淋渫了，贴痔绿云汤方：
卷柏、樗根白皮、贯众、朴消、地骨皮（各一两）。
以上五味药，粗捣筛，每用十五钱匕，葱二枝，水五升，煮至四升，去滓乘热渫之。
涂痔二黄散方：
黄柏（一两）、黄蜀葵花（一分）、白芨（二钱）、生干地黄（半两）、青黛（二块）。
以上五味药，捣罗为散，先渫了，用朴消水调涂之。
贴痔苦楝散方：
苦楝子（二十枚）、白矾（一两）。
以上二味药，炒焦为散，入麝香研匀，临卧贴之，空心吃嫩猪肥肉一顿，永差。
熏痔丸方：
白鳝鱼骨、韭子（等分）。
以上二味药，捣罗为末，面糊丸弹子大，火烧熏之。
治痔疾驼粪熏方：
驼粪。
以上一味药，不拘多少阴干不得见日，用慢火煨成烟熏，候痒甚，别用后方渫洗。
治痔疾淋渫方：
恶实（一名牛蒡子）。
以上一味药，不拘多少，淘去浮者，每用一两，以水两碗浓煎，乘热熏之，候通手淋渫。
治痔疾 橘散方：
橘、皂荚子。
以上二味药，不拘多少，每一臭橘，札眼子七个，每眼子内，安皂子一枚，放在藏瓶内，烧存性取出，于土内培，出火毒一宿，细研入麝香少许，食前米饮调下一钱匕。
治痔疾枸杞散方：
枸杞根、地龙（捣）。
以上二味药，枸杞根旋取新者，刮去浮赤皮，只取第二重薄白皮曝干，捣罗为末，每秤一两，别入地龙末一钱和匀，先以热 汁洗渫患处，用药干掺，日可三次用。
治痔疾下部发肿，如梅李大，痛硬不能行者，实时取效神白散方：
半夏（齐州者）。
以上一味药，每用一枚，研令极细，入龙脑一小皂子许，同研匀，用津唾于手心调令稀稠得所，摊软纸上贴之，即冷如冰，良久有清水出渐消矣。如未全愈，再贴，去根本尤妙。
Commentary states: The *Neijing* (Inner Canon) mentions that excessive fullness leads to the relaxation and transverse dispersion of sinews and vessels, resulting in hemorrhoids. There are many manifestations of hemorrhoidal diseases; here, only the aspect of overeating is highlighted because diet satisfies a primary human desire. By inferring from this point, other causes can be understood by analogy. Chao Yuanfang adopted this theory and discussed it comprehensively, stating that all types of hemorrhoids are caused by wind invasion, imprudent sexual activity, or intercourse while intoxicated and full. These factors disturb Qi and Blood, causing vessel blood to overflow and leak into the intestines, ultimately affecting the lower body. "Mu hemorrhoids" (Yang Hemorrhoids) refer to nodules resembling rat breasts growing at the anal margin, protruding outward, and occasionally discharging pus and blood. "Pin hemorrhoids" (Yin Hemorrhoids) refer to swelling at the anal margin with ulceration and bleeding. "Mai hemorrhoids" (Vessel Hemorrhoids) refer to ulcers at the anal margin characterized by itching followed by pain and bleeding. "Chang hemorrhoids" (Intestinal Hemorrhoids) refer to painful swollen nodules at the anal margin accompanied by chills, fever, and bleeding. "Xue hemorrhoids" (Blood Hemorrhoids) refer to bright red blood flowing out during defecation. Sun Simiao described "Qi hemorrhoids" (Gas Hemorrhoids), which flare up due to cold, heat, fatigue, or dampness, also caused by worry and overexertion. The *Jiyan Fang* (Collected Proven Prescriptions) describes "Jiu hemorrhoids" (Wine Hemorrhoids), which is actually an alias for Pin hemorrhoids. Regarding treatment methods and contraindications, Sun Simiao's discussion is the most detailed.
Commentary states: There are five names for hemorrhoids: first, Mu hemorrhoids; second, Pin hemorrhoids; third, Mai hemorrhoids; fourth, Chang hemorrhoids; fifth, Xue hemorrhoids. Although the symptoms vary slightly, they are generally caused by excessive eating and excessive sexual desire. Excessive eating damages the stomach and intestines, while excessive desire depletes Qi and Blood. Pathogenic toxins take advantage of this deficiency, flowing into the lower body, where they accumulate to form hemorrhoids.
**Nengxiao Wan (Elimination Pill)** for treating five types of hemorrhoids with swelling, pain, continuous bleeding, stagnation of Ying and Wei (Defensive and Nutritive Qi), body pain, and constipation due to wind:

**Huaishi Wan (Sophora Fruit Pill)** for treating five types of hemorrhoidal diseases:
*Huashi* (Fructus Sophorae, 1 liang), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix, sliced), *Zhishi* (Fructus Aurantii Immaturus, remove pith, stir-fried with bran until yellow), *Guanzhong* (Cyatheae Rhizoma), *Baizhu* (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), *Roudoukou* (Myristicae Semen), *Fangfeng* (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove cross-branches), *Jingjie* (Schizonepetae Spica, separately ground), *Muxiang* (Aucklandiae Radix).
Crush and sieve the above fifteen herbs into powder. Mix with wheat paste to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 30 pills before meals with rice water, and again in the evening.
**Disheng Zhike Wan (Pill Supporting the Sage with Aurantium)** for treating five types of intestinal wind diarrhea with blood and hemorrhoids:

Crush and sieve the above thirteen herbs into powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 50 to 100 pills on an empty stomach with warm wine.
**Rusheng San (Powder Like the Sage)** for treating various hemorrhoids:
*Bai Pi* (Cortex Broussonetiae, two pieces, burned), *Jiguanhua* (Coronillidis Flos, stir-fried), *Zaojia Zhen* (Spina Gleditsiae Sinensis, roasted, 2 liang each), *Gualou* (Trichosanthis Fructus, one piece, burned), *Hetao* (Juglandis Semen, ten pieces, burned), *Huashi* (Fructus Sophorae, 2 liang), *Baijian* (Alumen), *Lvjian* (Melanteritum, 2 liang).
Crush and sieve the above eleven herbs into powder. Take 2 qian bi each time, mixed with wine, or made into pills.
**Rusheng Wan (Pill Like the Sage)** for treating five types of hemorrhoidal diseases:
*Zhike* (Fructus Aurantii, remove pith, stir-fried with bran), *Ninglingxian* (Radix Clematidis, remove soil), *Chenju* (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, remove white pith, 1 liang each), *Xuduan* (Dipsaci Radix, stir-fried), *Baijian* (Alumen, purified), *Danggui* (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and baked), *Huaijiazi* (Seed of Fructus Sophorae, half a liang each).
Crush and sieve the above eleven herbs into powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 10 pills on an empty stomach before meals with aged millet water, twice daily. For chronic cases, increase the number of pills; for severe pain, relief occurs on the same day. This medicine cures long-standing ailments. For cases lasting over twenty years, take only ten doses; for new cases, stop after two or three doses to prevent recurrence.
**Heishen San (Black Divine Powder)** for treating intestinal wind hemorrhoidal disease:
*Qianghuo* (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, remove rhizome head), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix, sliced), *Huangjing Shi* (Fructus Viticis Negundo), *Manjing Shi* (Fructus Viticis Tripterae), *Gouji* (Cibotii Rhizoma, fire-brushed to remove hair), *Zhike* (Fructus Aurantii, remove pith, stir-fried with bran), *Binglang* (Arecae Semen), *Gualou* (Trichosanthis Fructus, equal parts).
Except for *Gualou*, crush and sieve the above eight herbs into powder equally. Place the powder inside the *Gualou*. Seal in a clay pot or tile jar with salt mud. Fire until red hot. Cool and retrieve the powder. Prepare the following additional herbs:
*Jingjie Zi* (Semen Schizonepetae), *Bai Wuyi* (Chloranthi Spicati Rhizoma, equal parts to the previous powder), *Muxiang* (Aucklandiae Radix, half the amount of the previous powder).
Crush and sieve the above eleven herbs into powder. Take 1 qian bi on an empty stomach, mixed with tea and wine, three times daily.
**Gaochi Wan (Edict Pill)** for treating hemorrhoids:
*Lianqiao* (Forsythiae Fructus), *Fuzi* (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, cracked by fire, remove skin and umbilicus), *Gui* (Cinnamomi Ramulus, remove rough bark), *Huaijiao* (Fructus Sophorae), *Baijian* (Alumen, purified and dry), *Duzhong* (Eucommiae Cortex, remove rough bark, slice, and stir-fry), *Zhike* (Fructus Aurantii, equal parts).
Crush and sieve the above ten herbs into powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 10 pills on an empty stomach before meals with rice water, three times daily. This formula was named so because it was found after an edict and proved effective repeatedly.
**Pi Wan (Bark Pill)** for treating five types of hemorrhoids:
*Pi* (Cortex Broussonetiae, one piece, finely sliced and stir-fried until yellow), *Xuduan* (Dipsaci Radix), *Huaijiazi* (Seed of Fructus Sophorae), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix, sliced), *Danggui* (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and baked), *Ganjiang* (Zingiberis Rhizoma, processed), *Lianqiao* (Forsythiae Fructus, equal parts).
Crush and sieve the above ten herbs into powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 20 pills on an empty stomach with foxtail millet wine. Increase to 30 pills if necessary. This is especially suitable for severe cases.
**Rushen Wan (Pill Like God)** for treating intestinal wind and five types of hemorrhoids:
*Wushe* (Natrix, soaked in wine, remove skin and bones, roast), *Dahuang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, wrapped in wet paper and baked), *Fangfeng* (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove cross-branches, 2 liang each), *Huangqin* (Scutellariae Radix, sliced), *Zhike* (Fructus Aurantii, remove pith, stir-fried with bran), *Danggui* (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and baked), *Qianghuo* (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, 1.5 liang each).
Crush and sieve the above nine herbs into powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 30 pills on an empty stomach with warm wine daily, and another dose before sleep. Bleeding and pain will stop on the same day.
**Sanxiang Wan (Three Fragrances Pill)** for treating five types of hemorrhoids:
*Ruxiang* (Olibanum, half a liang, ground), *Anshixiang* (Styrax), *Miduoseng* (Lithargyri Massica, ground, one fen each), *Badou* (Crotonis Fructus, seven grains, remove skin and oil), *Dansha* (Cinnabaris, ground), *Shexiang* (Moschus, ground).
Grind the above eight herbs finely and mix evenly. Use water to dissolve steamed bread dough to make pills the size of mung beans. Take one pill on an empty stomach with cold clear tea.
**Miduoseng Wan (Lithargyri Pill)** for treating all hemorrhoidal diseases with sallow complexion:
*Miduoseng* (Lithargyri Massica, burned red), *Baijian Hui* (Ash of Alumen, 1 liang each), *Huai Ziren* (Seed of Fructus Sophorae, lightly stir-fried), *Jiguanhua* (Coronillidis Flos), *Changmo* (Ink from cauldron, half a liang each), *Zaojia Hui* (Ash of Spina Gleditsiae Sinensis, half a liang).
Crush and sieve the above six herbs into powder. Mix with wheat paste to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 20 pills before meals on an empty stomach, washed down with decoction of *Baiye* (Leaf of Morus alba).
**Pi San (Bark Powder)** for treating hemorrhoidal disease:
*Pi* (Cortex Broussonetiae, one piece), *Huangniujiao* (Cornu Bubali, one pair), *Lingli Jia* (Manis Squama, 2 liang), *Zhuya Zaojiao* (Spina Gleditsiae Sinensis, pork tooth type), *Yezhurou* (Sus Scrofa Domestica Carcass, 1 liang each), *Jiuruoye* (Old Leaf of Musa basjoo, appropriate amount).
Place the above six herbs in a new bottle, cover with a new tile, seal with paper mud, and fire until red hot. Cool and grind into fine powder. Add a small amount of *Shexiang* (Moschus). Take 2 qian bi each time, grinding one walnut kernel into two parts, taking one part, and mixing with the powder. Wash down with warm wine. For chronic cases, five to seven doses will cure. Take deeply at night before sleep.
**Shenyansan (Divine Verification Powder)** for treating hemorrhoidal disease:
*Danggui* (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and baked, 1 liang), *Baijian* (Alumen, 2 liang), *Sang'e* (Bombyx Batryticatus, 2 liang, yellow-purple variety), *Mu'er* (Auricularia Judae, 2 liang).
Crush and sieve the above four herbs into powder. Take 1 qian bi each time, mixed with millet porridge, on an empty stomach before meals.
**Yigong San (Extraordinary Merit Powder)** for treating five types of hemorrhoids, intestinal wind diarrhea with blood, internal and external hemorrhoids, rectal prolapse, and nipple-like flesh growths around the lower body:
*Huangniujiao* (Cornu Bubali, one piece, crushed), *Shetuipi* (Serpentis Shed Skin, one white piece), *Zhuya Zaojiao* (Spina Gleditsiae Sinensis, five spines, sliced), *Lingli Jia* (Manis Squama, half a liang).
Place the above four herbs in a porcelain bottle, seal tightly with yellow mud, and let dry. First burn with low fire until smoke appears, then high fire until red hot. Remove, cool, and grind into powder. Before sleep, grind one walnut kernel into four parts, take one part, and grind finely into paste. Mix with warm wine, swallow, and sleep. This draws out worms. At dawn (Wu geng), take 2 qian bi of the powder with warm wine. Take another dose at Chen hour. Even for long-standing cases, three doses will cure.
**Mugua Wan (Papaya Pill)** for treating hemorrhoids:
*Mugua* (Chaenomelis Fructus, 1 liang, sliced, dried, ground; reserve one-third for later use), *Binglang* (Arecae Semen, two pieces, ground), *Baijian* (Alumen, 1 liang, ground), *Tianxiao* (Natrii Sulfas, one fen).
Make a leavened dough wrapper with raw flour. Wrap the medicine evenly. Roast on fire until fragrant. Remove the dough. Pound the medicine 200 times. If dry, moisten with wheat paste. Make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 20 pills on an empty stomach with papaya decoction. Do not expose this medicine to fire again.
**Shengjin Wan (Victorious Gold Pill)** for treating hemorrhoidal disease:
*Cihuang* (Orpiment, half a liang, ground), *Baijian* (Alumen, 1 liang, ground), *Shexiang* (Moschus, one large qian, ground).
Grind the above three herbs thoroughly. Boil half a cup of strong vinegar in a silver or earthenware vessel over slow fire until reduced by half. Pour into a mortar and grind evenly. Return to the vessel and boil into a paste. Add a little *Shexiang* (Moschus) and grind. Add a little steamed bread center to make pills the size of mung beans. Take 10 pills at night with warm sour rice water. Also, take one pill, dissolve in hand with sour rice water, and apply to the hemorrhoid. Three-year cases will heal in three to five doses.
**Wuji Zi Gao (Black Chicken Egg Ointment)** for treating hemorrhoidal disease:
*Moyao* (Myrrha, half a liang, ground), *Shexiang* (Moschus, one qian, ground).
Take one black chicken egg, break the top slightly, and pour out the white. Put the yolk back into the shell. Add the herb powder and mix with the yolk. Seal the top with paper. Steam over rice until cooked. Divide into four doses. Chew finely and wash down with *Mendong* (Asparagi Radix) decoction before meals.
**Nengxiao Wan (Elimination Pill)** for treating hemorrhoids:
*Ninglingxian* (Radix Clematidis, clean, stir-fried with bran), *Chanke* (Cicadae Cuticle, clean, remove soil and feet, bake dry, 1 liang each).
Crush and sieve the above two herbs into powder. Mix with vinegar-wheat paste to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 20 to 30 pills with rice water.
**Baizhong San (Hundred Hits Powder)** for treating hemorrhoidal disease:
*Bixie* (Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma, as needed).
Grind the above single herb into powder. Take 2 qian bi each time. Take 4 liang of lean mutton, slice into four pieces, sprinkle the powder, and wrap like a dumpling. Roast on charcoal fire until cooked. Chew finely and wash down with half a sheng of wine. Wait until abdominal pain feels like walking five to seven li, then go to the toilet. Pus, blood, and worms will be discharged. One dose is sufficient.
**Ju San (Tangerine Peel Powder)** for treating hemorrhoidal disease:
*Ju* (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, as needed).
Place the herb in a porcelain bottle, line with several layers of paper, and press the mouth with a brick. Burn the peel in a charcoal stove until the smoke is gone but the nature remains. Immediately seal the bottle with paper and brick. Cool and grind into fine powder. Take 2 qian bi each time, mixed with *Shexiang* (Moschus) and warm wine, or aged rice water.
**Xiao Xianglian Wan (Small Musk Coptis Pill)** for treating five types of hemorrhoids:
*Huanglian* (Coptidis Rhizoma, stir-fried with bran until scorched yellow, as needed).
Grind the above single herb into powder. Mix with egg white to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Dry in shade. Take 15 pills when the rooster crows but its sound has not yet ceased, washed down with warm wine. Ten doses will be effective, preventing recurrence forever.
**Difuzi San (Kochia Seed Powder)** for treating hemorrhoidal disease:
*Difuzi* (Kochiae Fructus, as needed).
Dry on a new tile, grind into powder. Take 3 qian bi each time, mixed with aged millet water, three times daily.
**Lilu Tang (Veratrum Decoction) for Washing Hemorrhoids:**
*Lilu* (Veratri Rhizoma), *Fuzi* (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, sliced), *Mangcao* (Artemisiae Argyi Folium? Note: Text says Mangcao, likely Artemisia or similar), *Shechuangzi* (Cnidii Fructus), *Qianghuo* (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), *Duhuo* (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), *Danggui* (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), *Kushen* (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), *Shaoyao* (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 1 liang each), *Shujiao* (Zanthoxyli Fructus, remove eyes).
Coarsely crush and sieve the above ten herbs. Use two handfuls per dose, place in a raw silk bag. Add one handful each of *Sangzhi* (Ramulus Mori), *Songzhi* (Ramulus Platycladi), and one piece of smashed *Shengjiang* (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens). In a silver/earthenware vessel, add three bowls of water. Boil, remove dregs, and pour into a container. Steam while hot, then wash when warm.
**Qi Wu Tang (Seven Ingredients Decoction) for Fumigating Hemorrhoids:**
*Gan Xiamazha* (Dried Toad, one piece, chopped), *Zaojiao* (Spina Gleditsiae Sinensis, three spines, chopped), *Ai* (Artemisiae Argyi Folium, one handful), *Biejia* (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum, two pieces, crushed), *Xionghuang* (Realgar, 1 liang), *Shexiang* (Moschus, small amount).
Coarsely crush and sieve the above seven herbs, mix well. Dig a pit in the ground. Place one jin of hot coals in the pit. Place a square brick with a hole in the center over the pit. Throw in one scoop of the powder. Sit on the brick covering the hole to fumigate.
**Shenmiao Tang (Divine Wonder Decoction) for Fumigating and Washing Hemorrhoids:**
*Bixie* (Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma), *Gualou Gen* (Trichosanthis Radix), *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, sliced), *Wubeizi* (Galla Chinensis), *Chi* (Fermented Soybean), *Congbai* (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus, sliced).
Equal parts, coarsely chop. Use 1-2 liang per dose. Add two bowls of water. Boil briefly. Pour into a basin. Sit over the basin to fumigate the hemorrhoids. Wash when temperature is tolerable.
**Moyao San (Myrrha Powder)** for Treating Five Types of Hemorrhoids and Disinfecting:
*Moyao* (Myrrha, 1 liang, ground), *Huangfan* (Yellow Alum?), *Baijian* (Alumen), *Niao Bai* (Urine Sediment?, fire-calcined, half a liang each), *Shexiang* (Moschus, one qian, ground).
Grind the above five herbs evenly. Before use, wash and wipe clean with scallion water. Apply the dry powder.
**Huarushi San (Flower Milk Stone Powder)** for Treating Five Types of Hemorrhoids:
*Huarushi* (Flower Milk Stone?, 1 liang, ground), *Ruxiang* (Olibanum, remove stones, ground), *Yeming Sha* (Pharosis Faeces, ground), *Danfan* (Chalcanthitum, ground), *Dilong* (Pheretima, remove soil, ground to fine powder).
Equal parts, grind evenly. Before use, wash and wipe clean with licorice decoction. Apply the dry powder to make the hemorrhoids dissipate.
**Huangbai San (Phellodendron Powder) for Applying to Hemorrhoids:**
*Huangbai* (Phellodendri Cortex), *Qiandan* (Minii Oxidum Rubrum), *Huanglian* (Coptidis Rhizoma), *Nifen* (Calomelas), *Baijian* (Alumen).
Equal parts, grind into powder. First wash with scallion decoction. Then apply 1 qian bi of the powder. Chronic cases will heal in no more than three applications.
**Yingtong San (Pain-Relieving Powder)** for Treating All Hemorrhoidal Diseases:
*Jingjisui* (Schizonepetae Spica), *Sangen Baipi* (Cortex Morae Radicis), *Diyu* (Sanguisorbae Radix, 1 liang each).
Grind into powder. Use 3 qian bi with one bowl of water. Smash two *Ju* (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) and decoct together for three to five boils. Pour out. Fumigate the sore. It causes extreme pain. Wait until the sensation subsides, then wash. Continue taking the subsequent medicine.
**Zhisheng Wan (Supreme Sage Pill)** for Treating All Hemorrhoidal Diseases:
*Ju* (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 100 pieces, remove core and pith, slice), *Zhike* (Fructus Aurantii, remove pith, slice, half a jin), *Huanglian* (Coptidis Rhizoma, remove whiskers, 5 liang).
Stir-fry with five sheng of bran in a silver/earthenware vessel over slow fire until the bran is black. Remove from fire to eliminate heat toxicity. Discard the bran. Grind the herbs into fine powder. Take 100 soap pods, remove the yellow pulp, and boil in one sheng of water in a silver/earthenware vessel until soft and pasty. Mix with the herb powder to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 20 pills with warm rice water, three times daily without restriction.
**Wu Wu San (Five Ingredients Powder)** for Fumigating and Washing Various Hemorrhoids:
*Langdazi* (Semen Hyoscyami, 2 liang), *Baijian* (Alumen, 1 liang; half pure transparent used raw, half placed in iron vessel and slow-fired calcined), *Pengsha* (Borax), *Maya Xiao* (Natrii Sulfas Crystallisatus, equal parts).
Soak 5 qian bi of powder in one large bowl of boiling water. Fumigate and wash the painful hemorrhoid area. Use after meals and before sleep. Cover with clothing, exposing only the hemorrhoid. Avoid wind.
**Muxiang San (Aucklandia Powder)** for Applying to Various Hemorrhoids:
*Muxiang* (Aucklandiae Radix), *Binglang* (Arecae Semen, large ones sliced), *Huanglian* (Coptidis Rhizoma, one fen each), *Mangcao Ye* (Artemisiae Argyi Folium, half a liang).
Grind into powder. Use 5 qian bi with two bowls of water. Boil for two to three boils. After fumigation and washing, mix with warm water. Apply using paper flower patches.
**Simiao San (Four Wonders Powder)** for Applying to Lotus Hemorrhoids and Coronet Hemorrhoids:
*Baiji* (Bletillae Rhizoma), *Bailian* (Pseudostellariae Radix), *Mubiezi* (Momordicae Semen), *Sangpiaoxiao* (Ovi Mantidis, half a liang each).
Grind into powder. Grind *Ruxiang* (Olibanum) in hot water to adjust consistency. Spread on old cloth and apply. Remove with skin the next day. No scars will remain, which is excellent.
**Sixiang Tang (Six Fragrances Decoction)** for Treating Long-Standing Hemorrhoids in Men and Women, With or Without Sores:
*Shacaogen* (Cyperi Rhizoma, 1 liang), *Hei Gouji* (Cibotii Rhizoma, half a liang), *Gansong* (Nardostachys Radix et Rhizoma), *Huang Shuxiang* (Elemi Resina, high-quality fragrant ones, one fen each).
Coarsely crush and sieve. Use 5 qian bi with one bowl of water. Boil for five to seven boils. Pour into a deep basin. Have the patient sit over it. Cover with clothes/quilts to fumigate. Do not let air escape. When the urge to defecate arises, wash the affected area. Stop when the medicine is cool. Do not rub. Lie down covered for about an hour. If washed, warm the quilt with fire before sleep for better effect.
**Lvyun Tang (Green Cloud Decoction)** for Applying to Hemorrhoids After Washing:
*Juanbai* (Selaginellae Herba), *Chugen Baipi* (Cortex Bungeae Radicis), *Guanzhong* (Cyatheae Rhizoma), *Puxiao* (Natrii Sulfas), *Digupi* (Cortices Lycii Radicis, 1 liang each).
Coarsely crush and sieve. Use 15 qian bi with two stalks of scallion and five sheng of water. Boil down to four sheng. Remove dregs. Wash while hot.
**Erhuang San (Two Yellows Powder)** for Applying to Hemorrhoids:
*Huangbai* (Phellodendri Cortex, 1 liang), *Huang Shukui Hua* (Abutilonis Indici Flos, one fen), *Baiji* (Bletillae Rhizoma, 2 qian), *Sheng Dihuang* (Rehmanniae Radix, half a liang), *Qingdai* (Indigo Naturalis, two pieces).
Grind into powder. After washing, mix with *Puxiao* (Natrii Sulfas) water and apply.
**Koushan San (Toona Powder)** for Applying to Hemorrhoids:
*Koushan Zi* (Toonae Fructus, 20 pieces), *Baijian* (Alumen, 1 liang).
Stir-fry until scorched into powder. Mix with *Shexiang* (Moschus). Apply before sleep. Eat a meal of tender pork fat on an empty stomach. Permanent cure.
**Xun Zhi Wan (Fumigating Hemorrhoid Pill):**
*Bai Shan Yu Gu* (Bone of White Eel), *Jiu Zi* (Allii Tuberosi Semen, equal parts).
Grind into powder. Mix with wheat paste to make pills the size of a bullet. Burn to fumigate.
**Tuofen Xun (Camel Dung Fumigation)** for Treating Hemorrhoids:
*Tuo Fen* (Cameli Stercus, as needed).
Dry in shade, never exposed to sun. Smolder over slow fire to produce smoke for fumigation. When itching is severe, wash with the subsequent formula.
**Lin Xie Fang (Washing Formula)** for Treating Hemorrhoids:
*E Shi* (Arctii Fructus, also known as Niu Bang Zi, as needed).
Remove floating impurities. Use 1 liang per dose. Boil in two bowls of water strongly. Fumigate while hot. Wash when temperature is tolerable.
**Ju San (Tangerine Peel Powder)** for Treating Hemorrhoids:
*Ju* (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), *Zaojia Zi* (Spina Gleditsiae Sinensis Seed, as needed).
For every smelly tangerine peel, punch seven holes. Place one soap pod seed in each hole. Store in a sealed bottle. Burn until carbonized. Bury in soil overnight to remove fire toxicity. Grind finely. Add a little *Shexiang* (Moschus). Take 1 qian bi before meals with rice water.
**Gouqi San (Goji Powder)** for Treating Hemorrhoids:
*Gouqi Gen* (Lycii Radix), *Dilong* (Pheretima, ground).
Use fresh *Gouqi Gen* (Lycii Radix). Scrape off the reddish outer skin. Take only the second thin white layer. Dry in sun. Grind into powder. For every 1 liang of powder, add 1 qian of *Dilong* (Pheretima) powder. Mix evenly. Wash the affected area with hot juice first. Apply the dry powder. Can be used three times daily.
**Shenbai San (Divine White Powder)** for Treating Hemorrhoids with Swelling in the Lower Body, Size of a Plum, Hard and Painful, Unable to Walk:
*Xaban* (Pinelliae Rhizoma, from Qizhou region).
Take one piece per dose. Grind extremely fine. Add a small amount of *Longnao* (Borneolum Syntheticum). Grind together. Mix with saliva on the palm to adjust consistency. Spread on soft paper and apply. It becomes cold as ice. Clear fluid will appear, and swelling will gradually subside. If not fully healed, reapply. Removing the root cause is best.
**Xun Fu Li Xiao San (Instant Effect Powder for Fumigation and Application)** for Treating Hemorrhoids:
*Qianglang* (Scarabaeus Sphincter, seven pieces, those caught flying at night are best).
