论曰肾气通于耳，心寄窍于耳，气窍相通，若窗牖然，音声之来，虽远必闻，若心肾气
虚，精神失守，气不宣通，内外窒塞，斯有聋聩之疾，经所谓五脏不知，则九窍不通是也。
论曰耳聋之证有二，有肾虚精脱而聋者，肾气通于耳也，有经脉气厥而聋者，经脉络于
耳也，肾虚而聋者，其候面色黑，气厥搏入于耳而聋者，其候耳中浑浑 ，或耳中气满是
也，辉辉 ，过在手少阳，耳中气满，过在手太阳，以至五络，皆会于耳中。各有证候，
审而治之。
治肾虚耳聋，肉苁蓉丸方
肉苁蓉（酒浸一宿切焙） 菟丝子（酒浸别捣） 白伏苓（去黑皮） 山芋 人参 熟
干地黄
（切焙） 桂（去粗皮） 防风（去叉） 芍药（锉） 黄 （锉各半两） 羊肾（一对薄

上一十四味，捣罗为末，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大，每服三十丸，空心温酒下。
治耳聋，黄 丸方

上一十一味，捣罗为末，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大，每服二十丸，煎枸杞根汤下，加至三
十丸，食后服。
治肾虚耳聋，菖蒲丸方
菖蒲 蜀椒（去目并闭口炒出汁各三分） 羊肾（一对酒一升煮干取出片切曝干） 葱

上五味，捣罗为末，炼蜜丸如梧桐子大，每服三十丸，空心温酒下，日三，凡欲服此药
，临睡时，先安铁物于所患耳边，口中以牙硬咬定，却以磁石一小块，安耳内，觉气微通，
略能听声，然后服药。
治肾气不足，耳聋耳中虚鸣，桂心汤方
桂（去粗皮） 羌活（去芦头） 黄 （锉各一分） 防风（去叉半两） 芍药 人参 木

上八味，粗捣筛，每服三钱匕，水三盏，先煮羊肾一只，去肾取汁一盏，然后下药，煎
至七分，去滓温服。
治耳聋耳鸣，山芋丸方

上九味，捣罗为末，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大，每服二十丸，米饮下，渐加至三十丸。
治耳聋，菖蒲酒方
菖蒲（米泔浸一宿锉焙三分） 木通 磁石（捣碎绵裹） 桂（去粗皮各半两） 防风

上六味， 咀如麻豆，以酒一斗渍，寒七日，暑三日，每日空腹饮三两盏，以瘥为度。
治耳聋鸣，常如风水声，磁石酒方

上三味 咀，以绢囊盛，用酒一斗浸，寒七日，暑三日，每饮三合，日再。
治耳聋，牡荆酒方
牡荆子（微炒一升）
上一味，以酒二升浸，寒七日，暑三日，去滓任性饮之，虽久聋亦瘥。
治耳聋，大豆酒方
大豆（拣一升） 鸡屎白（捣炒半升）
上二味，先炒大豆声绝，入鸡屎白，取酒五升沃之，良久去滓，分温三服，浓衣盖取汗
治耳聋铁酒方

上二味烧铁令赤，投酒中，去铁饮之，仍以磁石塞耳中。
治耳鸣耳聋塞耳，鱼脑膏方

上七味，除鱼脑，并锉碎，银器中和鱼脑，煎成膏，去滓倾入合中澄凝，每以枣核大

上一十味， 咀，以醋渍一宿，用炼成猪脂三斤，同置银器中，微火煎成膏，去滓，
倾入瓷合中澄凝，以绵裹枣核大，塞耳中。

治耳聋，烧肾散方
磁石（一两醋淬七次细研水飞） 附子（一两炮裂去皮脐） 巴戟（一两） 川椒（一
两去目
及闭口者微炒去汗）
上四味，捣罗为细散，每服用猪肾一只，去筋膜细切，葱白薤白各一切，入药一钱，盐
花一字，和搅令匀，以十重湿纸裹，于 灰火内煨熟，空腹细嚼，用酒解薄粥送下，十日大
效。
治久耳聋方
乌驴乳（一合） 皂荚（半挺为末） 蜡（一两）
上三味相和，于铫子内熔成膏堪丸，即丸如枣核大，用针穿透，安耳中一宿，至来日看
之，有物下来在耳门中，即便取却，再用一两度即瘥。
又方
桃仁（三分汤浸去皮） 松脂（三分） 椒目末（一分半） 巴豆（三七粒去皮心炒研）
上四味，都研如膏，捻如枣核，中穿一孔，绵裹塞耳中，数日一易。
治耳聋，塞耳，葶苈膏方
葶苈（纸上炒烂捣） 盐（研） 杏仁（汤浸去皮尖双仁炒研各一两）
上三味，捣研极烂，入猪膏中，以银器盛，慢火煎成膏，倾入瓷合中，以绵裹枣核大，
塞耳中。
治耳聋，塞耳，菖蒲丸方
菖蒲（一寸） 巴豆（一粒去皮心炒） 蜡（一分）
上三味，捣烂捻作七丸，每一丸，中穿一孔子，以绵裹塞耳中，日一易。
治耳聋，塞耳，食盐丸方
食盐 杏仁（去皮尖双仁炒各一分）
上二味烂捣，以纯鸟羊屎新湿者和丸，如枣核大，塞耳中，勿令风入，干即易之，至七
日二七日，耳中有声渐入，即以苇管长二寸内耳中，四畔以面封之，勿令气出，以薄面饼子
裹筒头上，以艾炷灸三壮，耳内即有干黑脓出，须挑却，还根据前法，一日两度，以后常用乱
发塞之。
治耳聋，塞耳，附子丸方
附子（炮裂去皮脐） 菖蒲（各半两）
上二味捣罗为末，以醋和如枣核，绵裹，临卧时塞耳中，夜一易之，有黄水出、瘥。
治耳聋，塞耳，大枣丸方
大枣（十五枚去核） 蓖麻子（一百粒去皮）
上二味烂捣，捻如枣核，塞耳中，二十日效。
治耳聋，塞耳，巴豆丸方
巴豆（十粒去皮心炒） 松脂（半两）
上二味，捣烂捻如枣核，塞耳中，汁出即愈。
又方
蜗牛子（一分） 石胆（一分） 钟乳（一分） 龙脑
上四味，除龙脑，同研为细末，一瓮瓶盛之，以炭火烧令通赤，候冷取出，研入龙脑少
许，每用油调药一字，滴入耳中，无不瘥。
又方
雄黄（一分） 硫黄（一分）
上二味同研为末，绵裹一字，放耳中，即瘥。
治耳聋灌耳方
鹅毛翎根筒（七茎） 灯心（七茎） 木通（一两） 地龙（三条）
上四味相和，烧为灰细研，每用半钱匕，以生油调，倾入耳中，便用绵子塞耳，且侧卧
良久，如此三度。
治耳聋，枫香脂丸方
枫香脂（半钱） 巴豆（七粒去皮心）
上二味同研相入，捻如枣核，绵裹塞耳中。
治耳聋，塞耳，牙硝散方
马牙硝（半两） 龙脑（半钱匕） 蕤仁（去皮半分）
上三味为散，入黄蜡二钱熔和，绵裹一枣核大，塞耳中。
治耳聋，塞耳，椒目丸方
椒目（四十九粒） 巴豆（二粒和皮用）
上二味，同研匀，入饭丸如枣核绵裹，夜后塞在聋耳内。
治耳聋，塞耳，黄瓜根方
黄瓜根
上一味，削如枣核塞耳，数日干，耵聍脓血自出尽，即瘥。
治耳聋，塞耳，醋煮附子方
附子
上一味，以醇醋微火煮一宿，削如枣核，以绵裹塞耳中。
治耳聋塞耳，真珠粉方
真珠末（一分）
上一味，研如粉，以绵裹一钱匕，塞耳中。
治耳聋塞耳桃仁方
桃仁（汤浸去皮尖双仁炒一分）
上一味捣烂，捻如枣核，以赤楮皮裹，塞耳中。
又方
杏仁（去皮尖一分）
上一味，捣烂如枣核大，以赤楮皮裹，塞耳中。
治耳聋，吸鼻，麝香散方
麝香 细辛（去苗叶） 干姜（炮） 根（洗净焙各一分）
上四味，捣罗为散，患左耳，吸入右鼻，患右耳吸入左鼻，不拘时。
治耳聋滴耳鸡卵方
新鸡卵（一枚） 巴豆（一粒去皮心膜）
上二味，先于鸡卵上开一窍，将巴豆内鸡卵中，以纸两重面粘贴盖，却与鸡抱，以其余
卵鸡子出为度，取汁滴于耳内，日三两次，五七日瘥。
治耳聋，滴身，鲫鱼胆膏方
鲫鱼胆（一枚） 乌驴脂（少许） 生油（半两）
上三味和匀，内楼葱管中七日，滴于耳内，瘥。
治耳聋，滴耳，胡麻油方
胡麻油（一合） 木香（醋浸一宿焙杵末半两）
上二味，银器内微火煎三五沸，绵滤去滓，旋滴耳中，以瘥为度。
治耳聋，滴耳，鹅膏方
鹅膏（一合）
上一味，以少许滴耳中。
治耳聋，滴耳，生油方

上一味，滴入耳中，日三五次，候其塞出即瘥。

上一物，安于合中荷叶上养之，专看叶上有尿，收取滴耳中。
治耳聋滴耳，杏仁方
杏仁（七粒汤浸去皮尖双仁炒）
上一味，分三停，各以绵裹，每裹着盐一颗如小豆许，以器盛，于饭甑上蒸之，饭熟取
出一裹，令患人侧卧，捻汁入耳中，久又以一裹捻入耳中，取瘥为度。
治耳聋，灌耳，益母草汁方
益母草（一握洗）
上一味研取汁，少灌耳中、瘥。
治耳聋，灌耳，酽醋方
酽醋（二合）
上一味，温灌耳中，以绵塞定，半日许，必有物出，即瘥。
治耳聋，灌耳，鲫鱼脑方
鲫鱼脑（一合）
上一味，以竹筒子盛蒸之，冷灌耳中。
治耳聋，灌耳，鼠胆方
鼠胆
上一味，取汁滴入耳内令透，初益聋，半日后，便能听，虽久亦瘥。
治耳聋，熏耳，雄黄散方
雄黄 防风（去叉） 菖蒲 石 乌头（去皮脐） 椒（去目并闭口炒出汗各一分） 大

上七味，捣罗为散，以香炉中安艾一弹子大，次着黄柏末半钱匕于艾上，复以药二钱
匕着艾上，火燃向耳熏之。
治耳聋，蜡纸角方。
蜡纸（一张）
上一物，剪为四片，每一片，于箸上紧卷，抽却箸，以蜡纸卷子，安耳中燃之，待火欲
至耳，急除去，当有恶物出在残纸上，日一角之，角了以蜡塞定。
治耳聋铁 方
铁
上一物，口内含之，随聋耳左右，以磁石一块枕之，旬余气通即止，又方以绵裹铁沙内
耳中，口含磁石，大法本同，今并为一方。
治耳聋方
巴豆（一枚去皮心膜）
上一味，以黄蜡裹，两头作孔通气，安耳中。
治耳卒聋方
菖蒲（一寸） 巴豆（一枚去心皮）
上二味捣研，分为七丸，每取一丸，绵裹塞耳中。
治卒耳聋方
上取栝蒌根，削可耳孔大，以腊月猪脂，煎三五沸，以塞耳中，七日一换良。
论述说：肾气通达于耳，心也寄居窍穴于耳，气与窍相互贯通，就像窗户一样。声音即使来自远方，也一定能听到。如果心和肾的气虚，精神失守，气机不能宣通，导致内外闭塞，这就产生了耳聋的病症，正如经典所说“五脏功能失调，则九窍不通”。
论述说：耳聋的证候有两种，一种是肾虚精脱导致的耳聋，因为肾气通达于耳；另一种是经脉之气厥逆导致的耳聋，因为经络联络于耳。肾虚而耳聋的，其表现为面色发黑；气厥逆入于耳而耳聋的，其表现为耳中轰鸣嘈杂，或者耳中感觉气满。这些症状多涉及手少阳经，若耳中气满，则涉及手太阳经，直至五络，都会汇聚于耳中。各有相应的证候，需仔细审察后进行治疗。
治疗肾虚耳聋的肉苁蓉丸方：
肉苁蓉（用酒浸泡一夜，切片焙干）、菟丝子（用酒浸泡后单独捣碎）、白茯苓（去掉黑皮）、山芋、人参、熟地黄（切片焙干）、桂枝（去掉粗皮）、防风（去掉叉枝）、芍药（切碎）、黄芪（切碎）、羊肾（一对，薄切，去掉筋膜，炙烤干燥）、附子（炮裂，去掉皮和脐）、羌活（去掉芦头）、泽泻（切碎）。以上十四味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用炼蜜调和做成丸子，大小如梧桐子。每次服用三十丸，空腹时用温酒送服。
治疗耳聋的黄连丸方：
黄连（切碎）、栀子仁（炒制）、犀角（镑片）、木通（切碎炒制）、升麻、人参、玄参、木香、干姜、黄芩（去掉黑心）、芍药（切碎）。以上十一味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用炼蜜调和做成丸子，大小如梧桐子。每次服用二十丸，用煎煮的枸杞根汤送服，可加量至三十丸，饭后服用。
治疗肾虚耳聋的石菖蒲丸方：
石菖蒲、蜀椒（去掉目及闭口者，炒出油，各三分）、羊肾（一对，用一升酒煮干，取出切片，晒干）、葱子（炒半两）、皂荚（一根，去皮去子，炙烤）。以上五味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用炼蜜做成丸子，大小如梧桐子。每次服用三十丸，空腹时用温酒送服，每日三次。凡是想要服用此药时，临睡前，先在患耳边放置铁器，口中咬紧硬物，然后将一小块磁石放入耳内，感觉到气息微微通畅，稍微能听到声音后，再服药。
治疗肾气不足、耳聋耳中虚鸣的桂心汤方：
桂枝（去掉粗皮）、羌活（去掉芦头）、黄芪（切碎，各一分）、防风（去掉叉枝半两）、芍药、人参、木通（切碎，各一分半）、磁石（用醋淬炼七遍，二两）。以上八味药，粗捣筛过，每次取三钱匕，用水三盏，先煮一只羊肾，去掉肾脏取汁一盏，然后加入其他药物，煎至七分，去渣温服。
治疗耳聋耳鸣的山芋丸方：
山芋、熟地黄（切片焙干）、磁石（用醋淬炼七遍）、菊花（微炒）、黄芪（切碎）、茯神（去掉木心）、木通（切碎，各一两）、升麻、独活（去掉芦头，各三分）。以上九味药，捣碎过筛成粉末，用炼蜜调和做成丸子，大小如梧桐子。每次服用二十丸，用米汤送服，逐渐加量至三十丸。
治疗耳聋的石菖蒲酒方：
石菖蒲（用米泔水浸泡一夜，切碎焙干，三分）、木通、磁石（捣碎用绵包裹）、桂枝（去掉粗皮，各半两）、防风（去掉叉枝）、羌活（去掉芦头，各一两）。以上六味药，切碎如麻豆大小，用一斗酒浸泡，寒冷季节七日，炎热季节三日，每天空腹饮用三两盏，以病愈为度。
治疗耳聋耳鸣，声音常像风吹水响的磁石酒方：
磁石（捣碎用绵包裹，半两）、木通、石菖蒲（用米泔水浸泡一至两天，切碎焙干，各半斤）。以上三味药，切碎，用绢袋盛装，用一斗酒浸泡，寒冷季节七日，炎热季节三日，每次饮用三合，每日两次。
治疗耳聋的牡荆酒方：
牡荆子（微炒一升）。以上一味药，用二升酒浸泡，寒冷季节七日，炎热季节三日，去渣随意饮用，即使是久聋也能治愈。
治疗耳聋的大豆酒方：
大豆（挑选一升）、鸡屎白（捣碎炒制半升）。以上两味药，先炒大豆直到声音消失，加入鸡屎白，取五升酒浇淋，稍后去渣，分三次温服，穿厚衣服盖被取汗。
治疗耳聋的铁酒方：
铁（五两）、酒（一升）。以上两味药，将铁烧红，投入酒中，去铁饮酒，同时仍用磁石塞住耳朵。
治疗耳鸣耳聋的塞耳鱼脑膏方：
鲤鱼脑（六合）、当归、防风（去掉叉枝）、细辛（去掉苗叶）、附子（去掉皮和脐）、川芎、白芷（各一分）。以上七味药，除了鱼脑外，其余切碎，在银器中与鱼脑一起煎制成膏，去渣倒入容器中冷却凝固，每次取枣核大小用绵包裹，塞入耳中。
治疗耳鸣耳聋的塞耳木通丸方：
木通（切碎）、细辛（去掉苗叶）、桂枝（去掉粗皮）、石菖蒲、当归（切片焙干）、甘草（炙烤切碎）、独活（去掉芦头，各半两）、附子（炮裂，去掉皮和脐）、石膏（研成粉，各一分）。以上九味药，捣研成粉末，随时用葱汁调和做成丸子，大小如枣核，用绵包裹塞入耳中。
治疗耳鸣耳聋的塞耳川芎膏方：
川芎、当归、细辛（去掉苗叶）、白芷（各一分）。以上四味药，细细切碎，用雄鱼脑六合调和，在银器中煎制成膏，去渣倒入容器中冷却凝固，取枣核大小用绵包裹，塞入耳中。
治疗耳聋的塞耳丹参膏方：
丹参（清洗）、蜀椒（去掉目及闭口者，炒出汗）、大黄、白术、川芎、附子（去掉皮和脐）、干姜、巴豆（去掉皮和心）、细辛（去掉苗叶）、桂枝（去掉粗皮，各半两）。以上十味药，切碎，用醋浸泡一夜，用炼成的猪脂三斤，一同放在银器中，用微火煎制成膏，去渣倒入瓷盒中冷却凝固，用绵包裹枣核大小，塞入耳中。
治疗耳聋的塞耳石菖蒲丸方：
石菖蒲、木通（切碎）、磁石（用醋淬炼后研磨）、乳香、杏仁（热水浸泡，去皮尖，双仁，炒制）、蓖麻子（去皮）、松脂、蜂蜡（各一分）。以上八味药，捣研极细，加入鹅膏，共同捣一二百下，捏成枣核大小，用针穿中心，做一个孔，先清理耳朵，然后将药放入耳中，每日两次，刚开始使用时可能会痒或发出声音，不要奇怪。
治疗耳聋的塞耳乳香丸方：
乳香、杏仁（热水浸泡，去皮尖，双仁，炒制）、蓖麻子（去皮）、附子（炮裂，去掉皮和脐）、磁石（用醋淬炼七遍）、木通（切碎）、桃仁（热水浸泡，去皮尖，双仁，炒制，各半两）、巴豆（去掉皮和心，炒制一分）、石菖蒲、松脂（各三分）。以上十味药，先将磁石、木通、石菖蒲、附子捣罗成粉末，其余捣研成膏，加入粉末共同捣一二百下，捏成枣核大小，中心通一个孔，用绵包裹塞入耳中，一日换三次，轻症三天，重症十天，即可痊愈。
治疗耳聋的塞耳地黄丸方：
生地黄（清洗）、杏仁（热水浸泡，去皮尖，双仁，炒制）、巴豆（去掉皮和心，炒制）、食盐、乱发灰（各半两）。以上五味药，捣烂如膏，捏成枣核大小，用薄头发包裹，塞入耳中，每日一换，当有黄水流出时，即停药。
治疗耳聋的塞耳蓖麻丸方：
蓖麻子（去皮半两）、乳香、食盐、巴豆（去皮炒制，各一分）、松脂、蜂蜡、杏仁（热水浸泡，去皮尖，双仁，炒制，各半两）。以上七味药，捣烂如膏，捏成枣核大小，塞入耳中，三日一换。
治疗耳聋的塞耳附子散方：
附子（炮裂，去掉皮和脐）、磁石（用醋淬炼十七遍）、龙骨、石菖蒲、藁本（去掉苗土，各一分）。以上五味药，捣罗成散剂，用绵包裹一钱匕，塞入耳中。
治疗耳聋的塞耳羌活丸方：
羌活（去掉芦头）、玄参、木通（切碎）、乌头（炮裂，去掉皮和脐）、防风（去掉叉枝，各一分）。以上五味药，捣罗成粉末，熔化蜡调和捏成枣核大小，塞入耳中，每日一换。
治疗耳聋的烧肾散方：
磁石（一两，用醋淬炼七次，细研，水飞）、附子（一两，炮裂，去掉皮和脐）、巴戟天（一两）、川椒（一两，去掉目及闭口者，微炒出汗）。以上四味药，捣罗成细散，每次服用时取猪肾一只，去掉筋膜细切，葱白、薤白各一切，加入药一钱，盐花一字，混合搅匀，用十层湿纸包裹，在炭灰火中煨熟，空腹细嚼，用酒和薄粥送下，十日大效。
治疗久耳聋的方子：
乌驴乳（一合）、皂荚（半根，研成粉末）、蜂蜡（一两）。以上三味药混合，在铫子内熔化成膏，可以做成丸子，大小如枣核，用针穿透，放入耳中一夜，到第二天看时，如果有东西掉在耳门中，立即取走，再用一两回即可痊愈。
又一方：
桃仁（三分，热水浸泡，去皮）、松脂（三分）、椒目末（一分半）、巴豆（三七粒，去皮心，炒制，研碎）。以上四味药，都研成膏，捏成枣核大小，中间穿一孔，用绵包裹塞入耳中，数日一换。
治疗耳聋的塞耳葶苈膏方：
葶苈子（在纸上炒烂捣碎）、盐（研碎）、杏仁（热水浸泡，去皮尖，双仁，炒制，研碎，各一两）。以上三味药，捣研极烂，加入猪膏中，用银器盛放，慢火煎成膏，倒入瓷盒中，用绵包裹枣核大小，塞入耳中。
治疗耳聋的塞耳石菖蒲丸方：
石菖蒲（一寸）、巴豆（一粒，去皮心，炒制）、蜂蜡（一分）。以上三味药，捣烂捏成七丸，每一丸中间穿一孔，用绵包裹塞入耳中，每日一换。
治疗耳聋的塞耳食盐丸方：
食盐、杏仁（去皮尖，双仁，炒制，各一分）。以上两味药，捣烂，用纯鸟羊屎新湿的和丸，大小如枣核，塞入耳中，不要让风进入，干了就更换，到七日或十四日，耳中有声音渐渐传入，就用长二寸的苇管插入耳中，四周用面封住，不让气出来，用薄面饼子裹住筒头，用艾炷灸三壮，耳内就会有干黑脓流出，必须挑出，还按前面的方法，一日两次，以后常用乱发塞住。
治疗耳聋的塞耳附子丸方：

巴豆（十粒，去皮心，炒制）、松脂（半两）。以上两味药，捣烂捏成枣核大小，塞入耳中，汁液流出即愈。
又一方：
蜗牛子（一分）、石胆（一分）、钟乳（一分）、龙脑。以上四味药，除龙脑外，同研成细末，用一个瓮瓶盛装，用炭火烧至通红，冷却后取出，研入少许龙脑，每次用油调药一字，滴入耳中，没有不痊愈的。
又一方：
雄黄（一分）、硫黄（一分）。以上两味药，同研成粉末，用绵包裹一字大小，放入耳中，即愈。
治疗耳聋的灌耳方：
鹅毛翎根筒（七茎）、灯心草（七茎）、木通（一两）、地龙（三条）。以上四味药混合，烧成灰细研，每次用半钱匕，用生油调和，倾入耳中，立即用棉球塞住耳朵，侧卧良久，如此三次。
治疗耳聋的枫香脂丸方：
枫香脂（半钱）、巴豆（七粒，去皮心）。以上两味药，同研混合，捏成枣核大小，用绵包裹塞入耳中。
治疗耳聋的塞耳牙硝散方：
马牙硝（半两）、龙脑（半钱匕）、蕤仁（去皮半分）。以上三味药，研成散剂，加入黄蜡二钱熔化混合，用绵包裹枣核大小，塞入耳中。
治疗耳聋的塞耳椒目丸方：
椒目（四十九粒）、巴豆（二粒，带皮使用）。以上两味药，同研均匀，加入米饭做成丸子如枣核大小，用绵包裹，夜晚塞在聋耳内。
治疗耳聋的塞耳黄瓜根方：
黄瓜根。以上一味药，削成枣核大小塞入耳中，数日后干枯，耵聍、脓血自行排出干净，即痊愈。
治疗耳聋的塞耳醋煮附子方：
附子。以上一味药，用醇醋在微火上煮一夜，削成枣核大小，用绵包裹塞入耳中。
治疗耳聋塞耳的真珠粉方：
真珠末（一分）。以上一味药，研成粉末，用绵包裹一钱匕，塞入耳中。
治疗耳聋塞耳桃仁方：
桃仁（热水浸泡，去皮尖，双仁，炒制，一分）。以上一味药，捣烂，捏成枣核大小，用赤楮皮包裹，塞入耳中。
又一方：
杏仁（去皮尖，一分）。以上一味药，捣烂如枣核大小，用赤楮皮包裹，塞入耳中。
治疗耳聋的吸鼻麝香散方：
麝香、细辛（去掉苗叶）、干姜（炮制）、根（洗净焙干，各一分）。以上四味药，捣罗成散剂，患左耳，吸入右鼻，患右耳，吸入左鼻，不拘时间。
治疗耳聋的滴耳鸡卵方：
新鸡蛋（一枚）、巴豆（一粒，去皮心膜）。以上两味药，先在鸡蛋上开一个小孔，将巴豆放入鸡蛋中，用两层纸粘贴覆盖，交给母鸡抱孵，以其余鸡蛋孵化出小鸡为度，取汁滴入耳内，每日两三次，五到七天痊愈。
治疗耳聋的滴身鲫鱼胆膏方：
鲫鱼胆（一枚）、乌驴脂（少许）、生油（半两）。以上三味药混合均匀，放入楼葱管中七日，滴入耳内，痊愈。
治疗耳聋的滴耳胡麻油方：
胡麻油（一合）、木香（醋浸泡一夜，焙干杵成粉末，半两）。以上两味药，在银器内用微火煎三五沸，用绵过滤去渣，随时滴入耳中，以痊愈为度。
治疗耳聋的滴耳鹅膏方：
鹅膏（一合）。以上一味药，用少许滴入耳中。
治疗耳聋的滴耳生油方：
生油（一合）。以上一味药，滴入耳中，每日三到五次，等到堵塞物排出即痊愈。
治疗耳聋的滴耳蟹汁方：
生蟹（一枚）。以上一味药，捣碎绞取汁液，用少许滴入耳中。
治疗耳聋的滴耳龟尿方：
龟。以上一味药，放在荷叶上的容器中饲养，专门观察叶子上是否有尿，收取滴入耳中。
治疗耳聋滴耳的杏仁方：
杏仁（七粒，热水浸泡，去皮尖，双仁，炒制）。以上一味药，分三份，每份用绵包裹，每裹包一颗小豆大小的盐，用容器盛放，在饭甑上蒸，饭熟取出一裹，让患者侧卧，捻汁入耳中，久了再以另一裹捻入耳中，以痊愈为度。
治疗耳聋的灌耳益母草汁方：
益母草（一把，清洗）。以上一味药，研取汁液，少量灌入耳中，痊愈。
治疗耳聋的灌耳酽醋方：
浓醋（二合）。以上一味药，温灌入耳中，用绵塞住，约半天，必有东西排出，即痊愈。
治疗耳聋的灌耳鲫鱼脑方：
鲫鱼脑（一合）。以上一味药，用竹筒盛放蒸热，冷却后灌入耳中。
治疗耳聋的灌耳鼠胆方：
鼠胆。以上一味药，取汁滴入耳内令其渗透，起初可能加重耳聋，半日后，便能听见，即使是久聋也能痊愈。
治疗耳聋的熏耳雄黄散方：
雄黄、防风（去掉叉枝）、石菖蒲、石膏、乌头（去皮脐）、花椒（去掉目及闭口者，炒出汗，各一分）、大枣核（十枚）。以上七味药，捣罗成散剂，在香炉中安放弹子大的艾绒，其次放半钱匕黄柏末在艾上，再放药二钱匕在艾上，点火向耳朵熏之。
治疗耳聋的蜡纸角方：
蜡纸（一张）。以上一味药，剪成四片，每一片，在筷子上紧紧卷起，抽出筷子，用蜡纸卷子，安放在耳中点燃，待火快要烧到耳朵时，急忙除去，应当有恶物出现在残纸上，每日一角，角完后用蜡塞住。
治疗耳聋的铁方：
铁。以上一味药，口内含之，随聋耳左右，用一块磁石枕着，十余天气通即止，又一方用绵包裹铁沙放入耳中，口含磁石，大法基本相同，现在合并为一个方子。
治疗耳聋方：
巴豆（一枚，去皮心膜）。以上一味药，用黄蜡包裹，两头做孔通气，安放在耳中。
治疗耳卒聋方：
石菖蒲（一寸）、巴豆（一枚，去心皮）。以上两味药捣研，分为七丸，每次取一丸，用绵包裹塞入耳中。
治疗卒耳聋方：
上面取栝蒌根，削得可适合耳孔大小，用腊月猪脂，煎三五沸，用来塞入耳中，七日一换，效果良好。
Discussion states: The Qi of the Kidney (Shen) connects to the ear, and the Heart (Xin) also resides in the orifice of the ear. Qi and orifices communicate with each other, like windows. Sounds coming from afar can still be heard. If the Qi of the Heart and Kidney is deficient, and Spirit (Shen) fails to remain anchored, Qi cannot circulate freely, leading to internal and external blockage. This results in deafness (Er Long), as stated in the classics: "When the Five Zang organs are dysfunctional, the Nine Orifices become blocked."
Discussion states: There are two types of deafness syndromes. One is deafness caused by Kidney deficiency and essence depletion, because the Kidney Qi connects to the ear. The other is deafness caused by the reversal of Qi in the meridians, because the meridian networks connect to the ear. For deafness due to Kidney deficiency, the manifestation is a dark complexion. For deafness due to Qi reversal entering the ear, the manifestations include roaring noises in the ears (Hun Hun) or a sensation of fullness of Qi in the ears. These symptoms often involve the Hand Shaoyang Meridian; if there is fullness of Qi in the ear, it involves the Hand Taiyang Meridian, extending to the Five Collaterals, all of which converge in the ear. Each has specific signs and symptoms, which must be carefully examined before treatment.

The above eleven ingredients are pounded into powder, sifted, mixed with refined honey, and formed into pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take twenty pills per dose, swallowed with decoction of Goji root bark. Dosage may be increased to thirty pills, taken after meals.
Formula for Calamus Pill (Chang Pu Wan) for treating Kidney deficiency deafness:
Calamus Rhizome (Chang Pu), Sichuan Pepper (Shu Jiao, eyes and closed-mouth ones removed, fried until oil comes out, 3 fen each), Sheep Kidney (Yang Shen, one pair, boiled dry in one sheng of wine, taken out, sliced, sun-dried), Allium Fistulosum Seed (Cong Zi, fried, 0.5 liang), Gleditsia Sinensis Fruit (Zao Jiao, one stick, skin and seeds removed, roasted). The above five ingredients are pounded into powder, mixed with refined honey, and formed into pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take thirty pills per dose, swallowed with warm wine on an empty stomach, three times a day. Whenever taking this medicine, before going to sleep, first place an iron object near the affected ear, bite down hard with teeth, then place a small piece of Magnetitum (Ci Shi) inside the ear. When feeling slight Qi circulation and barely hearing sounds, then take the medicine.
Decoction for Cassia Bark (Gui Xin Tang) for treating Kidney Qi insufficiency, deafness, and tinnitus:
Cinnamon Twig (Gui Zhi, coarse bark removed), Notopterygium Root (Qiang Huo, rhizome removed), Astragalus Root (Huang Qi, chopped, 1 fen each), Saposhnikovia Root (Fang Feng, forked roots removed, 0.5 liang), White Peony Root (Bai Shao), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Ren Shen), Akebia Stem (Mu Tong, chopped, 1.5 fen each), Magnetitum (Ci Shi, quenched in vinegar seven times, 2 liang). The above eight ingredients are coarsely pounded and sieved. Gradually increase to thirty pills.
Calamus Wine (Chang Pu Jiu) for treating deafness:
Calamus Rhizome (Chang Pu, soaked in rice washing water overnight, chopped and dried, 3 fen), Akebia Stem (Mu Tong), Magnetitum (Ci Shi, crushed and wrapped in cotton), Cinnamon Twig (Gui Zhi, coarse bark removed, 0.5 liang each), Saposhnikovia Root (Fang Feng, forked roots removed), Notopterygium Root (Qiang Huo, rhizome removed, 1 liang each). The above six ingredients are chopped like hemp seeds, soaked in one dou of wine. Soak for seven days in cold weather, three days in hot weather. Drink three san zhan on an empty stomach daily, until cured.
Magnetitum Wine (Ci Shi Jiu) for treating deafness and tinnitus, where sound resembles wind blowing over water:
Magnetitum (Ci Shi, crushed and wrapped in cotton, 0.5 liang), Akebia Stem (Mu Tong), Calamus Rhizome (Chang Pu, soaked in rice washing water for one to two days, chopped and dried, 0.5 jin each). The above three ingredients are chopped, placed in a silk bag, and soaked in one dou of wine. Soak for seven days in cold weather, three days in hot weather. Drink three he per time, twice a day.
Vitex Fruit Wine (Mu Jing Jiu) for treating deafness:

Soybean Wine (Da Dou Jiu) for treating deafness:

The above seven ingredients: except for fish brain, chop the rest finely. In a silver vessel, mix with fish brain and simmer into ointment. Strain and pour into a container to cool and solidify. Akebia Stem (Mu Tong, chopped), Asarum Root (Xi Xin, seedlings and leaves removed), Cinnamon Twig (Gui Zhi, coarse bark removed), Calamus Rhizome (Chang Pu), Angelica Sinensis Root (Dang Gui, sliced and dried), Licorice Root (Gan Cao, roasted and chopped), Angelica Pubescens Root (Du Huo, rhizome removed, 0.5 liang each), Prepared Aconite Root (Fu Zi, processed until cracked, skin and umbilicus removed), Gypsum Fibrosum (Shi Gao, ground to powder, 1 fen). The above nine ingredients are pounded and ground to powder. Mix with scallion juice to form pills the size of date pits. Wrap in cotton and plug into the ear.
Ligusticum Ointment (Chuan Xiong Gao) for plugging ears to treat tinnitus and deafness:
Ligusticum Wallichii Rhizome (Chuan Xiong), Angelica Sinensis Root (Dang Gui), Asarum Root (Xi Xin, seedlings and leaves removed), Angelica Dahurica Root (Bai Zhi, 1 fen each). The above four ingredients are finely chopped. Mix with 6 liang of male carp brain. Simmer in a silver vessel into ointment. Strain and pour into a container to cool and solidify. Salvia Ointment (Dan Shen Gao) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Salvia Miltiorrhiza Root (Dan Shen, washed), Sichuan Pepper (Shu Jiao, eyes and closed-mouth ones removed, fried until sweat appears), Rheum Palmatum Root (Da Huang), Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome (Bai Zhu), Ligusticum Wallichii Rhizome (Chuan Xiong), Prepared Aconite Root (Fu Zi, skin and umbilicus removed), Dried Ginger (Gan Jiang), Croton Seed (Ba Dou, skin and heart removed), Asarum Root (Xi Xin, seedlings and leaves removed), Cinnamon Twig (Gui Zhi, coarse bark removed, 0.5 liang each). The above ten ingredients are chopped, soaked in vinegar overnight. Add three jin of rendered lard. Place together in a silver vessel and simmer over low heat into ointment. Strain and pour into a porcelain box to cool and solidify. Wrap a date-pit-sized amount in cotton and plug into the ear.
Calamus Pill (Chang Pu Wan) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Calamus Rhizome (Chang Pu), Akebia Stem (Mu Tong, chopped), Magnetitum (Ci Shi, quenched in vinegar and ground), Frankincense (Ru Xing), Apricot Kernel (Xing Ren, soaked in hot water, skin and tip removed, twin kernels, fried), Castor Seed (Bi Ma Zi, skin removed), Pine Resin (Song Zhi), Beeswax (La, 1 fen each). The above eight ingredients are pounded and ground extremely fine. Add goose fat (E Gao) and pound together 100-200 times. Shape into date-pit-sized balls. Pierce a hole through the center. Clean the ear first, then insert the medicine. Use twice daily. Initially, itching or noise may occur; do not be alarmed.

Frankincense (Ru Xiang), Apricot Kernel (Xing Ren, soaked in hot water, skin and tip removed, twin kernels, fried), Castor Seed (Bi Ma Zi, skin removed), Prepared Aconite Root (Fu Zi, processed until cracked, skin and umbilicus removed), Magnetitum (Ci Shi, quenched in vinegar seven times), Akebia Stem (Mu Tong, chopped), Peach Kernel (Tao Ren, soaked in hot water, skin and tip removed, twin kernels, fried, 0.5 liang each), Croton Seed (Ba Dou, skin and heart removed, fried, 1 fen), Calamus Rhizome (Chang Pu), Pine Resin (Song Zhi, 3 fen each). The above ten ingredients: first pound Magnetitum, Akebia Stem, Calamus Rhizome, and Prepared Aconite Root into powder. Pound the rest into paste. Mix powder with paste and pound 100-200 times. Shape into date-pit-sized balls. Pierce a hole through the center. Wrap in cotton and plug into the ear. Change once daily. Mild cases cure in three days, severe cases in ten days.

Raw Rehmannia Root (Sheng Di Huang, washed), Apricot Kernel (Xing Ren, soaked in hot water, skin and tip removed, twin kernels, fried), Croton Seed (Ba Dou, skin and heart removed, fried), Salt (Yan), Ash of Human Hair (Luan Fa Hui, 0.5 liang each). The above five ingredients are pounded into a paste. Shape into date-pit-sized balls. Wrap in thin hair and plug into the ear. Change once daily. When yellow fluid discharges, stop using the medicine.
Castor Seed Pill (Bi Ma Wan) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Castor Seed (Bi Ma Zi, skin removed, 0.5 liang), Frankincense (Ru Xiang), Salt (Yan), Croton Seed (Ba Dou, skin removed, fried, 1 fen each), Pine Resin (Song Zhi), Beeswax (La), Apricot Kernel (Xing Ren, soaked in hot water, skin and tip removed, twin kernels, fried, 0.5 liang each). The above seven ingredients are pounded into a paste. Shape into date-pit-sized balls. Plug into the ear. Change every three days.

Notopterygium Root (Qiang Huo, rhizome removed), Scrophularia Root (Xuan Shen), Akebia Stem (Mu Tong, chopped), Aconite Root (Wu Tou, processed until cracked, skin and umbilicus removed), Saposhnikovia Root (Fang Feng, forked roots removed, 1 fen each). The above five ingredients are pounded into powder. Melt beeswax and shape into date-pit-sized balls. Plug into the ear. Change once daily.
Roasted Kidney Powder (Shao Shen San) for treating Kidney Qi insufficiency and deafness:
Magnetitum (Ci Shi, 1 liang, quenched in vinegar seven times, finely ground, water-classified), Prepared Aconite Root (Fu Zi, 1 liang, processed until cracked, skin and umbilicus removed), Morinda Officinalis Root (Ba Ji, 1 liang), Sichuan Pepper (Chuan Jiao, 1 liang, eyes and closed-mouth ones removed, slightly fried until sweat appears). The above four ingredients are pounded into fine powder. For each dose, take one pig kidney, remove sinews and fascia, slice finely. Add chopped scallion white and shallot white. Add one qian of medicine and a pinch of salt flower. Mix well. Wrap in ten layers of wet paper. Roast in charcoal ash fire until cooked. Chew finely on an empty stomach. Swallow with wine and thin porridge. Great effect after ten days.
Formula for Long-standing Deafness:
Donkey Milk (Wu Lu Ru, 1 he), Gleditsia Sinensis Fruit (Zao Jiao, half stick, ground to powder), Beeswax (La, 1 liang). The above three ingredients are mixed and melted in a pot into a paste that can be shaped into pills. Form into date-pit-sized pills. Pierce with a needle. Insert into the ear for one night. Check the next day; if foreign matter falls into the ear canal, remove it immediately. Repeat one or two times to cure.
Another Formula:
Peach Kernel (Tao Ren, 3 fen, soaked in hot water, skin removed), Pine Resin (Song Zhi, 3 fen), Pepper Eye Powder (Jiao Mu Mo, 1.5 fen), Croton Seed (Ba Dou, 3-7 grains, skin and heart removed, fried and ground). The above four ingredients are all ground into paste. Shape into date-pit-sized balls. Pierce a hole in the center. Wrap in cotton and plug into the ear. Change every few days.
Torpedoa Ointment (Ting Li Gao) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Torpedoa Seed (Ting Li, fried on paper until soft and pounded), Salt (Yan, ground), Apricot Kernel (Xing Ren, soaked in hot water, skin and tip removed, twin kernels, fried and ground, 1 liang each). The above three ingredients are pounded and ground extremely fine. Add pork fat. Store in a silver vessel. Simmer over slow heat into ointment. Pour into a porcelain box. Wrap a date-pit-sized amount in cotton and plug into the ear.
Calamus Pill (Chang Pu Wan) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Calamus Rhizome (Chang Pu, 1 cun), Croton Seed (Ba Dou, 1 grain, skin and heart removed, fried), Beeswax (La, 1 fen). The above three ingredients are pounded into a paste and shaped into seven pills. Pierce a hole in the center of each pill. Wrap in cotton and plug into the ear. Change once daily.
Salt Pill (Yan Yan Wan) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Salt (Yan), Apricot Kernel (Xing Ren, skin and tip removed, twin kernels, fried, 1 fen each). The above two ingredients are pounded into a paste. Mix with fresh, moist bird/sheep dung to form pills the size of date pits. Plug into the ear. Prevent wind entry. Replace when dry. By the seventh or fourteenth day, if sound gradually enters, insert a reed tube (two cun long) into the ear. Seal the edges with flour paste to prevent air escape. Cover the tube head with a thin flour cake. Moxibustion with three moxa cones. Dry black pus will discharge from the ear. Pick it out. Continue the previous method, twice daily. Afterwards, commonly use human hair to plug the ear.
Aconite Pill (Fu Zi Wan) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Prepared Aconite Root (Fu Zi, processed until cracked, skin and umbilicus removed), Calamus Rhizome (Chang Pu, 0.5 liang each). The above two ingredients are pounded into powder. Mix with vinegar to form date-pit-sized balls. Wrap in cotton. Plug into the ear before sleep. Change once nightly. Yellow fluid discharge indicates cure.
Date Pill (Da Zao Wan) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Jujube (Da Zao, 15 pieces, pitted), Castor Seed (Bi Ma Zi, 100 grains, skin removed). The above two ingredients are pounded into a paste. Shape into date-pit-sized balls. Plug into the ear. Effective in twenty days.
Croton Seed Pill (Ba Dou Wan) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Croton Seed (Ba Dou, 10 grains, skin and heart removed, fried), Pine Resin (Song Zhi, 0.5 liang). The above two ingredients are pounded into a paste. Shape into date-pit-sized balls. Plug into the ear. Cure when juice discharges.
Another Formula:
Snail Shell (Wo Niu Zi, 1 fen), Chalcanthite (Shi Dan, 1 fen), Stalactite (Zhong Ru, 1 fen), Borneolum Syntheticum (Long Nao). The above four ingredients: except Borneolum, grind together into fine powder. Store in a jar. Heat over charcoal fire until red-hot. Cool and remove. Grind in a little Borneolum. Mix one zi (measure) of medicine with oil and drip into the ear. No case will fail to cure.
Another Formula:
Realgar (Xiong Huang, 1 fen), Sulfur (Liu Huang, 1 fen). The above two ingredients are ground into powder. Wrap one zi (measure) in cotton and place in the ear. Cure immediately.
Ear Irrigation Formula for Deafness:
Goose Feather Quill Base (E Mao Ling Gen Tong, 7 stems), Juncus Effusus (Deng Xin, 7 stems), Akebia Stem (Mu Tong, 1 liang), Earthworm (Di Long, 3 strips). The above four ingredients are mixed, burned to ash, and finely ground. Use half qian bi per dose. Mix with raw sesame oil. Pour into the ear. Immediately plug with cotton. Lie on side for a long time. Repeat three times.
Liquidambar Pill (Feng Xiang Zhi Wan) for treating deafness:
Liquidambar Resin (Feng Xiang Zhi, 0.5 qian), Croton Seed (Ba Dou, 7 grains, skin and heart removed). The above two ingredients are ground together and mixed. Shape into date-pit-sized balls. Wrap in cotton and plug into the ear.
Sodium Sulfate Powder (Ya Xiao San) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Marine Sodium Sulfate (Ma Ya Xiao, 0.5 liang), Borneolum Syntheticum (Long Nao, 0.5 qian bi), Prunus Armeniaca Kernel (Rui Ren, skin removed, 0.5 fen). The above three ingredients are made into powder. Add two qian of yellow wax and melt together. Wrap a date-pit-sized amount in cotton and plug into the ear.
Pepper Eye Pill (Jiao Mu Wan) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Pepper Eye (Jiao Mu, 49 grains), Croton Seed (Ba Dou, 2 grains, with skin). The above two ingredients are ground evenly. Mix with rice flour to form pills the size of date pits. Wrap in cotton. Plug into the deaf ear at night.
Cucumber Root (Hua Gua Gen) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Cucumber Root (Hua Gua Gen). The above one ingredient is shaved into a date-pit shape and plugged into the ear. After several days, when dry, cerumen, pus, and blood will discharge completely. Cure follows.
Vinegar-Boiled Aconite (Cu Zhu Fu Zi) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Prepared Aconite Root (Fu Zi). The above one ingredient is boiled in strong vinegar over low heat overnight. Shave into a date-pit shape. Wrap in cotton and plug into the ear.
Pearl Powder (Zhen Zhu Fen) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Pearl Powder (Zhen Zhu Mo, 1 fen). The above one ingredient is ground to powder. Wrap one qian bi in cotton and plug into the ear.
Peach Kernel (Tao Ren) for plugging ears to treat deafness:
Peach Kernel (Tao Ren, soaked in hot water, skin and tip removed, twin kernels, fried, 1 fen). The above one ingredient is pounded into a paste. Shape into a date-pit size. Wrap in red mulberry bark (Chi Chu Pi) and plug into the ear.
Another Formula:
Apricot Kernel (Xing Ren, skin and tip removed, 1 fen). The above one ingredient is pounded into a paste the size of a date pit. Wrap in red mulberry bark and plug into the ear.
Musk Powder (She Xiang San) for inhaling into nose to treat deafness:
Musk (She Xiang), Asarum Root (Xi Xin, seedlings and leaves removed), Dried Ginger (Gan Jiang, processed), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuan Xiong, cleaned and dried, 1 fen each). The above four ingredients are pounded into powder. If the left ear is affected, inhale into the right nostril; if the right ear is affected, inhale into the left nostril. Time is not restricted.
Chicken Egg Ear Drop (Ji Dan Fang) for treating deafness:
Fresh Chicken Egg (Xin Ji Dan, 1 egg), Croton Seed (Ba Dou, 1 grain, skin and membrane removed). The above two ingredients: make a small hole on the eggshell. Put Croton Seed inside the egg. Cover with double-layered paper pasted with dough. Incubate with other eggs until chicks hatch. Extract juice and drip into the ear. Two to three times daily. Cure in five to seven days.
Crucian Carp Gall Ointment (Ji Yu Dan Gao) for dripping body/ear to treat deafness:
Crucian Carp Gall (Ji Yu Dan, 1 gall), Donkey Fat (Wu Lu Zhi, a little), Raw Sesame Oil (Sheng You, 0.5 liang). The above three ingredients are mixed evenly. Place in a scallion tube for seven days. Drip into the ear. Cure follows.
Sesame Oil (Hu Ma You) for dripping into ear to treat deafness:
Sesame Oil (Hu Ma You, 1 he), Aucklandia Root (Mu Xiang, soaked in vinegar overnight, dried, pounded to powder, 0.5 liang). The above two ingredients are simmered in a silver vessel over low heat for three to five boils. Filter through cotton to remove dregs. Drip into the ear as needed. Stop when cured.
Goose Fat (E Gao) for dripping into ear to treat deafness:
Goose Fat (E Gao, 1 he). The above one ingredient: drip a small amount into the ear.
Raw Sesame Oil (Sheng You) for dripping into ear to treat deafness:
Raw Sesame Oil (Sheng You, 1 he). The above one ingredient: drip into the ear. Three to five times daily. Stop when blockage discharges. Cure follows.
Crab Juice (Xie Zhi) for dripping into ear to treat deafness:
Live Crab (Sheng Xie, 1 crab). The above one ingredient: crush and squeeze to extract juice. Drip a small amount into the ear.
Turtle Urine (Gui Niao) for dripping into ear to treat deafness:
Turtle (Gui). The above one ingredient: keep in a container lined with lotus leaf. Observe specifically for urine on the leaf. Collect and drip into the ear.
Apricot Kernel (Xing Ren) for dripping into ear to treat deafness:
Apricot Kernel (Xing Ren, 7 grains, soaked in hot water, skin and tip removed, twin kernels, fried). The above one ingredient is divided into three portions. Wrap each portion in cotton. Place a small bean-sized grain of salt in each wrap. Store in a container. Steam over a rice steamer. When rice is cooked, take one wrap. Have the patient lie on their side. Squeeze juice into the ear. After a while, insert another wrap. Stop when cured.
Motherwort Juice (Yi Mu Cao Zhi) for irrigating ear to treat deafness:
Motherwort Herb (Yi Mu Cao, one handful, washed). The above one ingredient is pounded to extract juice. Irrigate a small amount into the ear. Cure follows.
Strong Vinegar (Yan Cu) for irrigating ear to treat deafness:
Strong Vinegar (Yan Cu, 2 he). The above one ingredient: warm and irrigate into the ear. Plug with cotton. After about half a day, foreign matter will discharge. Cure follows.
Crucian Carp Brain (Ji Yu Nao) for irrigating ear to treat deafness:
Crucian Carp Brain (Ji Yu Nao, 1 he). The above one ingredient: steam in a bamboo tube. Cool and irrigate into the ear.
Rat Gall (Shu Dan) for irrigating ear to treat deafness:
Rat Gall (Shu Dan). The above one ingredient: extract juice and drip into the ear to penetrate. Initially, deafness may worsen. After half a day, hearing returns. Even long-standing deafness can be cured.
Realgar Powder (Xiong Huang San) for fumigating ear to treat deafness:
Realgar (Xiong Huang), Saposhnikovia Root (Fang Feng, forked roots removed), Calamus Rhizome (Chang Pu), Gypsum Fibrosum (Shi Gao), Aconite Root (Wu Tou, skin and umbilicus removed), Sichuan Pepper (Jiao, eyes and closed-mouth ones removed, fried until sweat appears, 1 fen each), Date Pit (Da Zao He, 10 pits). The above seven ingredients are pounded into powder. Place a ball-sized amount of mugwort in an incense burner. Sprinkle half qian bi of Phellodendron Bark powder (Huang Bo Mo) on the mugwort. Then place two qian bi of the medicine powder on top. Ignite and fumigate towards the ear.
Waxed Paper Corner (La Zhi Jiao) for treating deafness:
Waxed Paper (La Zhi, 1 sheet). The above one ingredient: cut into four pieces. Roll each piece tightly around a chopstick. Remove chopstick. Place the rolled waxed paper in the ear and ignite. When the fire approaches the ear, remove it immediately. Evil matter will appear on the residual paper. Use one corner daily. After finishing, seal with wax.
Iron Method (Tie Fang) for treating deafness:
Iron (Tie). The above one ingredient: hold in mouth. Move according to the side of the deaf ear. Rest head on a piece of Magnetitum. After more than ten days, Qi will open and stop. Another method: wrap iron filings in cotton and insert into ear. Hold Magnetitum in mouth. The principle is the same. Combined into one formula here.

Croton Seed (Ba Dou, 1 grain, skin, heart, and membrane removed). The above one ingredient: wrap in yellow wax. Make holes at both ends for ventilation. Place in the ear.

Calamus Rhizome (Chang Pu, 1 cun), Croton Seed (Ba Dou, 1 grain, heart and skin removed). The above two ingredients are pounded and ground. Divide into seven pills. Take one pill, wrap in cotton, and plug into the ear.
Formula for Sudden Deafness:
Take Trichosanthes Root (Gua Lou Gen). Shave to fit the ear canal. Fry in lard from the twelfth lunar month for three to five boils. Plug into the ear. Change once every seven days for good effect.
