三七先生：现在中医用药，偏于寒凉，偏于用水，水能克火，水多了，就把火给灭 掉了。这里边有个认识问题，他认为病就是火，刘河间和朱丹溪就这样认识。实际 上这火是什么呢？火和热是有区别的。说到相火，君火以明，相火以位。火不在本 位了，它就变成了火证。实际上这个火要怎么治呢？要把它引回本位，火自动就灭 了。也就是说，在它不该释放的地方它释放了。就象烟花爆竹，经常这么放，就变 成了噪音，有污染。不点着它就是个能源 ，它不转化为能量。能量不在本位就会 变成一种痛，火停在什么地方它都会痛，它会肿。气伤痛，形伤肿。不要随便灭火 ，这个火呢，把它导入正途就可以了。火要完全灭掉的话，人就没有动力了。没动 力的话，就变成了一个死物，这就生机日少，去死不远了。君火不明，君火是什么 呢？心藏的是神，也就是神不足了，神不足了自然就不明，糊涂了，变成了暗。痴 暗愚痴，想问题也想不清楚，不聪不明，如乌云遮蔽。实际上君火这个来源不也是 相火，这个水生木，木生火变来的嘛。也就是精化气，气化神嘛。在肾的时候它是 精，在肝的时候它是血，血中有气，在心的时候化成神。脑为精明之府，这里面还 有脑的作用。脑里面有神经，脑为髓海，它是连着脊髓的。如果髓要是少了的话， 那不就是脑萎缩了嘛，这些神经什么的也就不好用了，神明自然也就不灵了。
网友：古人对医学认识为什么得比现代人还清楚？
三七先生：这个问题啊，古人为什么把人体研究得比现代人还明白。古人是在生命 中体验人是什么的，用观。现代人研究的方法，是从死尸中研究出来的，他解剖死 尸，解剖尸体。所以他研究这些成形的东西是很清楚的，但是这个气化他不懂。他 不知道活人是怎样的，只知道一个死样。所以很多病呢，这活人的病呢它搞不清， 不明病因，这是个方法论的问题。一个生机活泼的东西他给看成一个死物，所以他 就解决不了这些活人的问题。
网友：现在还能吃桂附地黄丸吗？可以吃到什么时候？
三七先生：桂附地黄丸是水木部的药，主要是走水和木的。也就是肾中坎下这一阳 和震下这一阳，同时还有阴。它在冬季和春季的时候都可以用，可以用到春分以前 吧，实际上它在冬季时候用比较好，夏秋的时候作用可能就不大了。桂附地黄丸是 个收藏的药，如果气机完全升起来的时候，就不适合了，与气机相反。
网友：伤精为什么要扶阳？
三七先生：阳化气，阴成形嘛。阳生阴长，阳要不生，阴也不长。既然伤到精了， 你首先得要生精。什么东西能生精呢？化生精。化是什么呢？阳化嘛。所以说，把 伤精的东西当成湿热去治啊，这是失之太远啊。
网友：西医所谓的前列腺炎和中医所说的肾虚，这两者是有区别的还是就是一回事 ？
三七先生：西医所谓的炎啊，种种炎，每个部位它都可以安上一个炎。只要这个地 方形状有所变化，他就说发炎。实际上他是对这个病因不明，就给消炎。消来消去 呢，问题越来越严重。实际上，他没有抓住这个病的根本，他看到的是一个现象。 为什么出现这个现象呢？他不懂。实际上就是说，他见到了阴成形，但不知道阳化 气这回事。所谓的前列腺炎，凡是有这种病症的，都是从伤精而来的。精伤了气无 所摄，水不能生木，阳郁于下，在那儿憋的时间长了，就变形了。阳不能化气，那 阴形越来越大——肥大嘛。种种的那些应该化气的化不成气，就在那地方堆积，最 后浮现于外，就是这么个道理。不要总是看到这个瘀，强调这个瘀。为什么瘀呢？ 它不能气化了，就象冬天这个冰似的，结冰时你天天去扫雪，去刨冰，也不行。你 把它扔到马路边上，它还是在那儿停着。只有当温度升高了，太阳出来了，慢慢把 它给化掉。阳气足了，自然化成水。最后呢，什么也找不到了。你如果天天刨，动 员多少人去刨，它还是在那儿。这个问题一定要弄清楚，没有这个气化帮它恢复的 话，解决不了根本。这是个标本的问题，知标本者，万举万当，不知标本，是谓妄 行。不知标本的话，你做的事情都是一个无知妄作，不知常妄作，结果是凶，不吉 啊，有很多问题都是这样。如果你能从根本上给它认清楚的话，你做起来就有道理 。不然的话，那只是个错误。无论多少人在做，无论是用什么样的形式把它给写成 书面语言，把它给传播出去，都改变不了它的错误性质。因为从结果上就可以看出 来，不论多少专科在治，他也治不好。为什么不好？因为他是错误的。
前列腺的问题是你自己伤的，所以最终得靠自己养。如果不能养的话，这病没法治 好。你不断的在那儿磨损它，不断的在那儿疏泄它，它自然好不了。

小儿八日不食
98年2月，一女童来求诊，年尚未足三岁。腹痛，已八日未食。西医院诊为胃 痉挛，告需要观察，不敢用药。中医与针刺并开汤剂，服后未愈。来诊时痛止不定 ，时作时休，痛则哭闹不止。痛时脉疾数上涌，左关尤甚。问其先前饮食，云当日 所食各种食品颇多，乃定为伤食，欲以承气汤加青皮木香之类下之。及其离去，翻 阅《古今治误》，有治小儿伤食，以承气汤攻下致脾胃大伤之案，万密斋谓是杀此 儿也。生大恐怖，急打电话告病人家属更方为：鸡内金6克、三棱3克、莪术3克、 青皮6克、莱菔子6克。一剂（据云药费不足6角）。
患儿于次日未时服药，少顷便出黑硬干屎一条，嘱戌时再服一次。次日，病儿 母来电话云，小儿已愈，昨日不到半日间连食四餐。嘱其不可过食，恐脾胃再伤耳 。
书此案，一则提醒为人父母者，不可任小儿食无节制，以小儿脾胃未成，不能 过多容受也；一则提醒为医者，于小儿之病不可过用戕伐，亦以小儿脾胃未成，稚 嫩之体不能顺受攻伐也。
2000年冬月，开原一老者年六十许，通过电话求治。西医检查左肺有阴影，疼 痛，以抗菌素消炎无效。左腿股骨头坏死。舌水滑，二便正常，口渴不能饮，饮食 不纳。辨为肺寒，开方：
麦冬10克，党参20克，陈皮30克，干姜60克
药服八剂，原来不能翻身，起不来床，今已能翻身起床。饮食见强，肺痛减轻。 痰原来黄，今变黑。已见效，嘱继续服前药。
又服十剂，较前十剂病情加重，饮食不思。以为寒气之故，加附子60克，桂枝30克 。
半月后去医大检查，云先前肺部阴影消失，洞扩大一倍。精神较先前强许多， 能翻身，饮食仍差，身无力。肺部已不痛。改方，取土生金之意，仍以温药为主：
麦冬10克，党参20克，陈皮15克，干姜30克，白术60克，茯苓15克，炙甘草30 克，鸡内金10克，附子30克，黄芪30克
十日后一天连来三次电话，云上次从医大回去之后又吃消炎药，肺中又痛。今 服上次所开中药已不觉痛。但开始口渴饮冷，口中破，上焦觉热，今日痰中带血。 三日后又来电话，云病情加重，骨瘦如柴，据形容腿只有三个麻杆粗细。不咳，胸 闷气短，大便数日一行，有时喜食凉物，略能进食。其子谓为肺癌，说恐怕不能治 了。前用热药寒气已散，今中上热象明显，显系火来克金之象。肺属金，本气清凉 ，今已热化，当清之，仍取土来生金之意，但药以清凉为主：
麦冬15克，沙参15克，五味子5克，甘草15克，茯苓10克，白术10克，麦芽10 克，陈皮10克，黄芪20克，金银花30克
二十日后，饮食见佳，前三月大便总共数次，近几日便二次，昨夜咳剧，肺又 觉疼。又八日后，痛减轻，饮食仍少，骨瘦如柴。六日后（2001年1月12日），能 饮食，肺不觉痛，吐痰前三口黄，后白。体力仍不足，人仍瘦，大便七八日未行。 嘱继续服前方。
中途失去联络，不知生死。2001年10月10日得到消息，云之后又服药三十余剂 ，春天时已经痊愈，体重增加四五十斤，现在早就骑着摩托车满街跑了。又说病的 名字西医叫霉菌性肺炎。
右胁内痛
一妪，武汉人，年五十余，从事蒸馒头工作十余年，工作时每日大汗淋漓，日 日如此，不能间断。今已停业，来女婿家调养。
年来自觉右胁之内疼痛难忍，不能自持，怀疑肝癌。睡眠不佳，体力虚惫。面 色黄白，左脉弦而涩，右脉微近无。断以肾气大虚，肝失所养，升达不畅，气滞血 瘀，乃发疼痛。盖每日发汗，精气耗散所致也。
遂书方：菟丝子30克、杜仲15克、白术30克、茯苓15克、黄芪30克、当归15克 、党参15克、柴胡10克、白芍10克、三七10克，先降后升之意也，嘱连服十五剂。
六服尽，痛全止。尽十五服，精神健旺，体力大长，每日上下六楼买菜做饭， 应付裕如，不觉疲惫，晚间玩电子游戏至深夜亦不觉困乏，盖先前未有之事也。
脉之，右尺沉石深藏骨间矣。若因疼痛之故，以之为实，重用戕伐，恐其虚惫 将愈甚矣。
飧泻八月
王女，16岁，随父母侨居澳洲，吃西餐伤脾胃，食后即泻，西医无效，乃归国 求医。服沈阳中医研究院中药四十余剂，每次160元三副药，服后病如故。又去著 名的儿科中医小儿王处求医，亦无效果。国内西医谓为心理障碍，没病，不予医治 。求医八个月，费用七八千，不见一丝效果。
2003年3月26日，彼邻居来电话代为求治，云病人食后即泻，泻后又饿，周而 复始，每日如是，现已骨瘦如柴，精神萎顿。
食入不化泻出，有降无升，胃能容而脾不能消，责其中焦无火也。求其根本， 则坎阳虚衰，坎阳不足则上升无力，中土乏生化之力，脾胃失运化之权。治当中下 并补，扶阳抑阴，俾其生气旺盛，自能消化饮食矣。与附子理中汤：
干姜60克，白术30克，党参60克，炙甘草30克，黑附子30克。七碗水煎剩二碗 ，早七时服一碗，下午三时服一碗。
28日晚，病人邻居又来电话，云病人早七时服药后，不到一分钟，先感胃中发 热，随后头上如同炸裂般疼痛，头皮发麻，面上如中风状，麻木抽搐不已，舌头发 硬，吃橘子不会吐子。接着浑身发麻，腿抽筋，恶心想吐。但吃饭后没有泻。症状 从早七时一直持续到下午一时方平复。一时多浑身觉疲倦，睡了一觉，原先手脚冰 凉，服药后麻木时手先觉热，接下来脚上麻木，随后脚上亦热。
因反应剧烈，晚上病人不敢再吃药，邻居打电话来问，告乃排病反应，但吃无 妨，方再服。服后腹泻四五次，原先总觉饿，食后即泻，泻后马上又饿，今日食后 不再觉胀觉饿，食后亦未泻。晚间十时多脸上又发麻，全身从脸上向下发麻，但没 有抽搐，持续一小时左右，半夜二时多呕吐一次。
30日，病人邻居又来电话，云第二天早晨服第二服药后肚子发麻，随后开始腹 泻，持续一日，至少五六次，所泻全是清水。中午饭后没有腹泻。晚间再服中药后 不再有反应。当日早晨食后觉饱，没有腹泻，病人高兴异常，云八月中头一次吃饭 后没有腹泻，并感觉吃饱。
二剂药服完症状基本消除，嘱将五剂服完，以巩固疗效。
5月24日反馈：服药后，过去的症状全部消失，体重渐增，现已恢复正常。共 吃五服药，药费一服七元。
所谓服药不眩瞑厥疾不瘳，此之谓欤？
复泰草堂，下午三时许，正足太阳用事之时。一女学生，年17，名黄菲，以感 冒之故，奉母命前来打吊针。问为何一定打吊针，云母言如是，未告何故。实则举 世皆然，不须明言，因循蒙昧，盖常情耳。
病人现自觉头晕，鼻塞，口干。无头痛项僵腰背酸重等表证。舌淡滑，左脉沉 紧，右脉沉数大。刚在外量体温35.6度，晚间则发热，从前日晚开始发病，至今未 解。
思之，就脉象而论，属中有客寒，内有热郁之象。宜升达降通并施，清散温开 同行，正小柴胡汤对治范围。乃劝其服中药，初不肯，告服后很快就会见效，乃肯 。药有先煎备好者，温之令服。药方入口，脉之，左脉已起，沉紧变为浮弦，唯关 脉略紧，少顷即有缓意，右关沉大数变为沉紧（说明脾肾原有寒湿，然非起病之因 ）。问头还晕否，答已不晕，鼻子还觉不通，又与对答数句，临走时云，鼻子也通 了，症状完全消除，从喝药到头不晕不到一分钟，到鼻通不过数分钟。
特记之，以为持中药慢论者之劝。时2003年3月19日。

所谓服药不眩瞑厥疾不瘳，此之谓欤？
复泰草堂，下午三时许，正足太阳用事之时。一女学生，年17，名黄菲，以感冒之故，奉母命前来打吊针。问为何一定打吊针，云母言如是，未告何故。实则举世皆然，不须明言，因循蒙昧，盖常情耳。
病人现自觉头晕，鼻塞，口干。无头痛项僵腰背酸重等表证。舌淡滑，左脉沉紧，右脉沉数大。刚在外量体温35.6度，晚间则发热，从前日晚开始发病，至今未解。
思之，就脉象而论，属中有客寒，内有热郁之象。宜升达降通并施，清散温开同行，正小柴胡汤对治范围。乃劝其服中药，初不肯，告服后很快就会见效，乃肯。药有先煎备好者，温之令服。药方入口，脉之，左脉已起，沉紧变为浮弦，唯关脉略紧，少顷即有缓意，右关沉大数变为沉紧（说明脾肾原有寒湿，然非起病之因）。问头还晕否，答已不晕，鼻子还觉不通，又与对答数句，临走时云，鼻子也通了，症状完全消除，从喝药到头不晕不到一分钟，到鼻通不过数分钟。

泡药治小儿腹痛
Mr. Sanqi: Currently, the use of Chinese medicine tends to be biased towards cold and cooling properties, and heavily relies on water-based therapies. Since water controls fire, an excess of water extinguishes the fire. There is a cognitive issue here: some believe that disease is essentially "fire," a view held by Liu Hejian and Zhu Danxi. In reality, what is this "fire"? There is a distinction between fire and heat. Regarding Ministerial Fire (Xiang Huo), the Sovereign Fire (Jun Huo) illuminates, while the Ministerial Fire maintains its position. When fire is not in its proper position, it manifests as a fire syndrome. So, how should this fire be treated? It must be guided back to its original position; once there, the fire will extinguish itself automatically. This means that energy is being released where it should not be. Like fireworks, if they are constantly set off, they become noise and pollution. If not ignited, they remain as potential energy sources without converting into kinetic energy. When energy is not in its proper place, it transforms into pain. Wherever fire stagnates, there will be pain and swelling. Qi injury causes pain, while form injury causes swelling. Do not casually extinguish this fire; simply guide it onto the correct path. If the fire were completely extinguished, the human body would lose its driving force. Without this drive, one becomes like a lifeless object, vitality diminishes day by day, and death draws near. The Sovereign Fire is unclear. What is the Sovereign Fire? The Heart houses the Spirit (Shen). When the Spirit is insufficient, it naturally lacks clarity, leading to confusion and darkness. One becomes dull, foolish, unable to think clearly, lacking acuity and brightness, akin to being obscured by dark clouds. Actually, the source of the Sovereign Fire is also the Ministerial Fire; Water generates Wood, and Wood generates Fire. This is essence transforming into Qi, and Qi transforming into Spirit. In the Kidney, it is Essence (Jing); in the Liver, it is Blood; within the Blood is Qi; and in the Heart, it transforms into Spirit. The Brain is the mansion of clarity and intelligence, involving the function of the brain. Inside the brain are nerves; the Brain is the Sea of Marrow, connected to the spinal cord. If the marrow decreases, does this not constitute brain atrophy? These nerves then function poorly, and the Spirit naturally loses its efficacy.
Netizen: Why did ancient people have a clearer understanding of medicine than modern people?
Mr. Sanqi: This question arises: why did ancients understand the human body better than moderns? Ancients experienced what it means to be human within life itself, using observation. Modern research methods are derived from dissecting corpses. Therefore, they understand formed structures clearly, but they do not comprehend Qi transformation (Qi Hua). They do not know what a living person is like, only knowing a dead state. Thus, for many diseases of living humans, they cannot clarify them or identify the etiology; this is a methodological issue. Viewing a vibrant, living entity as a lifeless object, they cannot solve problems related to living humans.
Netizen: Can one still take Guizhi Fuzi Dihuang Wan (Cinnamon Twig and Aconite Rehmannia Pill)? Until when can it be taken?
Mr. Sanqi: Guizhi Fuzi Dihuang Wan belongs to the Water and Wood categories, primarily acting on Water and Wood. It addresses the Yang within Kan (Water) in the Kidney and the Yang within Zhen (Wood) in the Liver, along with Yin. It can be used in winter and spring, ideally until before the Spring Equinox. Actually, it is best used in winter; its effect may be less significant in summer and autumn. Guizhi Fuzi Dihuang Wan is a formula for storage and collection. If the Qi mechanism is fully ascending, it is unsuitable as it opposes the Qi movement.
Netizen: Why support Yang when Essence is injured?
Mr. Sanqi: Yang transforms into Qi, and Yin forms structure. Yang generates, and Yin grows; if Yang does not generate, Yin does not grow. Since Essence is injured, one must first generate Essence. What can generate Essence? Transformation generates Essence. What is transformation? It is Yang's transformation. Therefore, treating injuries to Essence as Damp-Heat is far off the mark.
Netizen: Is there a difference between Western medicine's prostatitis and Traditional Chinese Medicine's Kidney Deficiency, or are they the same thing?
Mr. Sanqi: Western medicine uses the term "inflammation" for various conditions in every part of the body. Whenever there is a change in shape, they call it inflammation. Essentially, because the etiology is unknown, they apply anti-inflammatory treatments. As these are applied repeatedly, the problem worsens. They fail to grasp the root of the disease, seeing only phenomena. They do not understand why these phenomena occur. Specifically, they observe Yin forming structure but ignore Yang transforming into Qi. Prostatitis, in cases presenting such symptoms, stems from injured Essence. When Essence is injured, Qi has nothing to control it; Water fails to generate Wood; Yang becomes depressed below, stagnating for a long time, leading to deformation. Because Yang cannot transform Qi, the Yin form enlarges—hypertrophy occurs. Various substances that should transform into Qi fail to do so, accumulating in that location, eventually manifesting externally. This is the principle. Do not always focus on blood stasis (Yu) or emphasize it. Why is there stasis? Because Qi transformation has failed. It is like ice in winter; sweeping snow or chipping ice daily is ineffective. Throwing it on the roadside, it remains stationary. Only when the temperature rises and the sun appears, slowly melting it, does it disappear. When Yang Qi is sufficient, it naturally turns to water, leaving nothing behind. If you chip away daily, mobilizing many people, it remains. This issue must be clarified; without Qi transformation aiding recovery, the root cannot be solved. This is a matter of Root and Branch (Biao Ben). Knowing Root and Branch ensures success in ten thousand actions; ignoring Root and Branch is called reckless action. Not knowing Root and Branch leads to ignorant and reckless acts; acting recklessly without knowing the constants results in misfortune and inauspiciousness. Many problems arise this way. If you understand the root fundamentally, your actions will be justified. Otherwise, it is merely error. Regardless of how many people practice it or how it is written and disseminated, the erroneous nature cannot be changed. Results show that no matter how many specialists treat it, it cannot be cured. Why? Because it is wrong. Prostate issues are self-inflicted injuries; ultimately, one must nourish oneself. If one cannot nourish, the disease cannot be cured. Continuous wear and tear and leakage prevent natural healing.

Child Eating Nothing for Eight Days
In February 1998, a female child under three years old sought treatment. She had abdominal pain and had not eaten for eight days. The Western hospital diagnosed gastric spasm, advised observation, and dared not prescribe medication. TCM combined acupuncture with herbal decoctions, but she did not recover after taking them. At the consultation, her pain was intermittent, coming and going, with uncontrollable crying during pain episodes. During pain, the pulse was rapid, surging upwards, especially at the Left Guan position. Asking about prior diet, she reported eating various foods that day. It was determined as Food Retention (Shang Shi). I intended to use Chengqi Tang (Major Order the Qi Decoction) augmented with Qingpi (Green Tangerine Peel) and Muxiang (Aucklandia Root) to purge downwards. After she left, I reviewed *Gu Jin Zhi Wu* (Ancient and Modern Treatment Errors), which contained a case of a child with food retention whose Spleen and Stomach were severely damaged by purgative Chengqi Tang, described by Wan Mizhai as killing the child. I was terrified, urgently called the family to change the prescription to: Jineijin (Chicken Gizzard Lining) 6g, Sanleng (Sparganium Rhizome) 3g, Ezhu (Curcuma Rhizome) 3g, Qingpi 6g, Laifuzi (Radish Seed) 6g. One dose (costing less than 0.6 yuan).
The child took the medicine at Wei hour (1-3 PM) the next day. Soon after, she passed a single hard, black stool. I instructed her to take another dose at Xu hour (7-9 PM). The next day, the mother called to say the child had recovered, eating four meals in half a day yesterday. I advised against overeating to avoid further damaging the Spleen and Stomach.
I recorded this case to remind parents not to allow children uncontrolled eating, as their Spleen and Stomach are immature and cannot tolerate excessive intake; and to remind physicians not to overuse harsh purgatives on children, as their tender constitutions cannot withstand such attacks.
Mycotic Pneumonia
In the winter of 2000, an elderly man from Kaiyuan, around sixty years old, sought treatment via phone. Western examination showed shadows in the left lung and pain; antibiotics for inflammation were ineffective. He also had necrosis of the left femoral head. His tongue was slippery with moisture, bowel and bladder functions were normal, he felt thirsty but could not drink, and had no appetite. Differentiated as Lung Cold, prescribed:
Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber) 10g, Dangshen (Codonopsis Root) 20g, Chenpi (Aged Tangerine Peel) 30g, Ganjiang (Dried Ginger) 60g.
After eight doses, he who previously could not turn over or get out of bed, could now turn and rise. Appetite improved, lung pain decreased. Phlegm changed from yellow to black. Effective, instructed to continue previous medicine.
After another ten doses, condition worsened compared to the previous ten; loss of appetite. Suspecting cold pathogen, added Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root) 60g, Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) 30g.
Half a month later, checked at the medical university; lung shadows disappeared, cavity expanded double. Spirit much stronger, able to turn over, but appetite poor, body weak. Lung pain ceased. Changed prescription, aiming for Earth generating Metal, still primarily warm herbs:
Maidong 10g, Dangshen 20g, Chenpi 15g, Ganjiang 30g, Baizhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome) 60g, Fuling (Poria) 15g, Zhigancao (Honey-fried Licorice Root) 30g, Jineijin 10g, Fuzi 30g, Huangqi (Astragalus Root) 30g.
Ten days later, received three calls in one day. Said that after returning from the university, he took anti-inflammatories again, causing lung pain. Now, taking the previous Chinese medicine, pain is gone. However, began thirst for cold drinks, mouth ulcers, upper Jiao feels hot, phlegm contains blood today. Three days later, called again; condition worsened, emaciated, legs described as thin as hemp stalks. No cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath, bowel movements once every few days, sometimes prefers cool food, slight ability to eat. His son suspected lung cancer, saying likely incurable. Previous hot herbs dispersed cold; now middle and upper heat signs are obvious, clearly Fire overcoming Metal. Lung belongs to Metal, originally cool, now transformed to heat, should clear it, still aiming for Earth generating Metal, but herbs primarily cooling:
Maidong 15g, Shashen (Glehnia Root) 15g, Wuweizi (Schisandra Fruit) 5g, Gancao (Licorice Root) 15g, Fuling 10g, Baizhu 10g, Maiya (Barley Sprout) 10g, Chenpi 10g, Huangqi 20g, Jinyinhua (Honeysuckle Flower) 30g.
Twenty days later, appetite improved. Bowel movements were few in the previous three months, twice recently. Last night severe cough, lung pain returned. Eight days later, pain decreased, appetite still low, emaciated. Six days later (Jan 12, 2001), able to eat, no lung pain, first three mouthfuls of phlegm yellow, then white. Physical strength still insufficient, still thin, bowel movement delayed seven to eight days. Instructed to continue previous prescription.
Lost contact midway, unknown fate. Received news on Oct 10, 2001, that he took over thirty more doses, recovered in spring, gained 40-50 jin (20-25 kg), now rides a motorcycle everywhere. Also stated the Western name for the disease is Mycotic Pneumonia.
Pain in Right Hypochondrium
An elderly woman from Wuhan, over fifty years old, worked steaming buns for over ten years, sweating profusely every day during work, continuously. Now retired, recuperating at her son-in-law's home.
For a year, she felt unbearable pain inside the right hypochondrium, unable to endure it, suspecting liver cancer. Poor sleep, physical exhaustion. Complexion yellowish-white, Left pulse wiry and choppy, Right pulse faint, nearly absent. Diagnosed as severe Kidney Qi deficiency, Liver losing nourishment, ascending and spreading obstructed, Qi stagnation and Blood stasis, causing pain. Caused by daily sweating depleting Essence and Qi.
Prescribed: Tusizi (Dodder Seed) 30g, Duzhong (Eucommia Bark) 15g, Baizhu 30g, Fuling 15g, Huangqi 30g, Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root) 15g, Dangshen 15g, Chaihu (Bupleurum Root) 10g, Baishao (White Peony Root) 10g, Sanqi (Notoginseng Root) 10g. Intending descending first then ascending, instructed to take fifteen doses consecutively.
After six doses, pain stopped completely. After fifteen doses, spirit vigorous, physical strength greatly increased, climbing six flights of stairs daily for shopping and cooking with ease, no fatigue, playing video games late at night without drowsiness, unprecedented before.
Palpated pulse; Right Chi position deep, stone-like, hidden in bone. If due to pain, treating as Excess and using heavy purgatives would worsen her deficiency and exhaustion.
Sundry Diarrhea for Eight Months
Ms. Wang, 16, lived in Australia with parents, damaged Spleen and Stomach with Western diet, diarrhea immediately after eating. Western medicine ineffective, returned to China for treatment. Took over forty doses of Chinese medicine from Shenyang Academy of TCM, 160 yuan per three doses, condition unchanged. Sought famous pediatric TCM doctor "Little Wang," also ineffective. Domestic Western doctors called it psychological disorder, no disease, refused treatment. Sought medical help for eight months, spent 7000-8000 yuan, zero effect.
On March 26, 2003, neighbor called for treatment. Patient eats, then has diarrhea, then hunger, cycle repeats daily, now emaciated, spirit listless.
Food enters, not digested, expelled as diarrhea; descending without ascending. Stomach can contain, but Spleen cannot digest. Blame lack of Fire in Middle Jiao. Seeking root, Kan Yang is deficient; insufficient Kan Yang leads to weak ascending power, Middle Earth lacks transformative power, Spleen and Stomach lose transport and transformation authority. Treatment should tonify Middle and Lower simultaneously, support Yang and suppress Yin, allowing vital Qi to flourish, naturally digesting food. Prescribed Fuzi Lizhong Tang (Aconite Regulate the Middle Decoction):
Ganjiang 60g, Baizhu 30g, Dangshen 60g, Zhigancao 30g, Hei Fuzi (Black Prepared Aconite) 30g. Seven bowls of water boiled down to two bowls; take one bowl at 7 AM, one bowl at 3 PM.
Evening of 28th, neighbor called again. After taking medicine at 7 AM, within one minute, felt stomach heat, then headache like exploding, scalp numbness, face like stroke, numbness and twitching, tongue stiff, unable to spit orange seeds. Then whole body numbness, leg cramps, nausea. But no diarrhea after eating. Symptoms lasted from 7 AM until 1 PM when they subsided. After 1 PM, felt tired, slept. Previously cold hands and feet; during numbness, hands felt hot first, then feet numb, then feet hot.
Due to intense reaction, patient afraid to take medicine at night. Neighbor asked, told it is expulsion reaction, safe to take, instructed to continue. After taking, diarrhea 4-5 times. Previously always hungry, ate then diarrhea, then hungry immediately. Today, after eating, no bloating or hunger, no diarrhea. Around 10 PM, face numbness again, numbness spreading down from face, no twitching, lasted about one hour. Vomited once around 2 AM.
30th, neighbor called. Next morning after second dose, belly numbness, then diarrhea started, lasted all day, at least 5-6 times, all clear water. No diarrhea after lunch. No reaction after evening dose. Morning after eating, felt full, no diarrhea. Patient extremely happy, said first time in August eating without diarrhea, felt full.
After finishing two doses, symptoms basically eliminated. Instructed to finish five doses to consolidate effect.
Feedback May 24: After taking medicine, past symptoms all disappeared, weight gradually increased, now normal. Total five doses, cost 7 yuan per dose.
Is this not what is meant by "If taking medicine does not cause dizziness or fainting, the chronic disease will not heal"?
Exogenous Pathogen
At Futai Caotang, around 3 PM, just as Foot Taiyang channel is active. A female student, 17 years old, named Huang Fei, came to get IV drip due to cold, ordered by mother. Asked why IV drip, said mother insisted, didn't know why. Actually universal practice, no need to explain, following ignorance, common sentiment.
Patient currently feels dizzy, nasal congestion, dry mouth. No exterior signs like headache, neck stiffness, back soreness. Tongue pale and slippery, Left pulse deep and tight, Right pulse deep, rapid, large. Just measured temperature outside 35.6°C, fever in evening, illness started day before yesterday evening, unresolved.
Thinking, regarding pulse, indicates internal guest cold, internal heat depression. Should combine ascending/spreading with descending/unblocking, clearing/dispersing with warming/opening, exactly within Xiao Chaihu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) scope. Advised Chinese medicine, initially refused, told would see effect quickly, agreed. Medicine prepared beforehand, warmed to take. Upon entering mouth, palpated pulse; Left pulse rose, deep-tight became floating-wiry, only Guan pulse slightly tight, soon became relaxed. Right Guan deep-large-rapid became deep-tight (indicating pre-existing cold-damp in Spleen/Kidney, but not cause of illness). Asked if still dizzy, answered no longer dizzy, nose still blocked. Answered a few questions, leaving said nose cleared, symptoms completely eliminated. From drinking medicine to dizziness gone less than one minute, to nose clearing a few minutes.
Recorded specially to advise those claiming Chinese medicine is slow. Date: March 19, 2003.
