Fan Hua Chuang (Flower-like Ulcer) refers to a growth with a large head and a small stalk; the smaller ones are like beans, and the larger ones resemble mushrooms. They are neither painful nor itchy. When rubbed or damaged, they tend to bleed fresh blood, and if prolonged, they can lead to debility in the human body. Mix Bing Si San (Conch Shell Powder) with saliva and apply it evenly over the affected area on the face. Cover it with soft oil paper. At the narrow part of the stalk, tie it tightly with thread along with the paper. After ten days, the lesion will naturally fall off. Then, sprinkle Zhen Zhu San (Pearl Powder) to promote wound healing. In cases where the stalk is not small and resembles a turtle chess piece, making it difficult to tie, apply the aforementioned medicine first, then seal it with two layers of rice paste and cotton paper. Be careful not to move it during this period. It will also fall off after more than ten days, followed by sprinkling Zhen Zhu San (Pearl Powder).
Ye Yong (Axillary Abscess), commonly known as Jia Yong (Clamping Abscess), is caused by disorders of the Liver and Spleen meridians. Stagnation of blood in the Liver meridian and condensation of Qi in the Spleen meridian jointly form swelling. Initially, the skin color remains unchanged, presenting as diffuse swelling without a distinct head. Pain develops only after a long time, accompanied by chills and fever. This condition is difficult to resolve and will inevitably suppurate. For unruptured cases, use Chai Hu Qing Gan Tang (Bupleurum Decoction to Clear the Liver). For ruptured cases, use Shi Quan Da Bu Tang (Decoction for Tenfold Great Tonification) with Cinnamon Twig removed, adding Cyperi Rhizoma and Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium. For areas with severe swelling and pain, perform acupuncture and apply medicated plasters. However, this condition requires warm tonification from beginning to end, and cold-cooling herbs should be avoided.
Xie Yong (Hypochondriac Abscess) often arises from liver fire triggered by depression and anger. It is rare in individuals who are obese and have internal excess heat. In the initial stage, Zhi Zi Qing Gan Tang (Gardenia Decoction to Clear the Liver) or Chai Hu Qing Gan Tang (Bupleurum Decoction to Clear the Liver) should be used to relieve stagnation and drain fire. If the disease has progressed, use Tuo Li Xiao Du San (Powder to Support the Interior and Eliminate Toxins) added with Aurantii Fructus Viridis and Cyperi Rhizoma. If pus has formed, puncture it immediately, taking care not to damage the inner membrane. After rupture, use Ba Zhen Tang (Eight Treasure Decoction) added with Moutan Cortex, Corni Fructus, and Alisma Rhizoma, simultaneously nourishing Kidney Yin. Another type resulting from chronic deficiency consumption presents with foul-smelling, thin pus upon rupture; if supplementation and support fail to respond, the outcome is fatal.
Bi Zhi (Nasal Polyp) is formed due to unclear Lung Qi and stagnation of wind-dampness. Fleshy growths appear inside the nose resembling pomegranate seeds, gradually enlarging and hanging down, blocking the nasal orifices and preventing the free flow of Qi. Internally, Xin Yi Qing Fei Yin (Magnolia Flower Decoction to Clear the Lungs) is taken. Externally, Nao Sha San (Sal Ammoniac Powder) is applied daily to the lesion. Healing occurs when the growth gradually liquefies and drains away. Concurrently, one must regulate diet, avoid rich and heavy flavors, guard against irritability and rage, and conserve sexual energy. Only then can recurrence be prevented after recovery.
