治疗腹满癖硬如石头,积年不愈的方子:
When the five zang organs are harmonious, Ying (Nutrient) Qi and Wei (Defensive) Qi function smoothly. When Ying and Wei Qi flow freely, body fluids circulate unimpeded. Even if one drinks large amounts of water or liquids, it will not cause disease. However, if improper care leads to a mass (Pi Qi, 癖气) that is urgent and hard in the hypochondriac region, accompanied by qi stagnation causing fullness, inability to eat, and pain and oppression in the chest and back, Banxia San (Pinellia Powder) can be used.
Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, 2 liang, washed seven times with hot water to remove slipperiness) Jiejie (Platycodonis Radix, 3 fen, removed rhizome head) Qianhu (Peucedani Radix, 1 liang, removed rhizome head) Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus, 0.5 liang, soaked in water and processed with skirt-like wrapping) Zhike (Aurantii Fructus, 0.5 liang, removed pith, slightly stir-fried)
The above herbs are crushed, sifted into a powder. Each dose is 3 qian. Add one zhong of water and 0.5 fen of fresh ginger, decoct until reduced to 0.6 zhong. Strain the dregs. Take warm at any time.
To treat Pi Qi (masses), where the hypochondriac regions are hard as stone, painful upon pressure, with epigastric and abdominal fullness, inability to ingest food, mental distress, coughing, and counterflow qi, persisting for years without cure, Biejia Wan (Tartar Shell Pill) can be used.
Biejia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum, 1 liang, coated with vinegar, roasted until yellow, removed skirt edges) Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, 0.5 liang, removed sprouts) Xiongqiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 0.5 liang) Chuan Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 3 fen, cut into pieces, slightly stir-fried) Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 0.5 liang, split, removed peel and navel) Badou (Crotonis Fructus, 30 seeds, removed peel and heart, wrapped in paper and pressed to remove oil) Fangkui (Adenophorae Radix, 0.5 liang) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 0.5 liang, honey-fried until slightly red, cut)
The above herbs are crushed, sieved into fine powder. Badou is ground in and mixed evenly. Honey is refined and used to bind; the mixture is pounded three to five hundred times. Form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take before meals, delivered with millet gruel broth.
