Grind the above into a fine powder. Frequently rub it on both axillae. Visible effects will appear after half a month, and complete cure after half a year.
Generally, there are "corpse worms" (Shi Chong) in the human abdomen. These creatures are born with humans but cause great harm to them. The shape of the corpse worm resembles a large horse's tail or a thin tendon; it resides attached to the Spleen, possessing both head and tail, and is three cun long. There are also nine types of worms: First is the Fu Chong (Hidden Worm), four fen long. Second is the Hui Chong (Roundworm), one chi long. Third is the Bai Chong (White Worm), one cun long. Fourth is the Rou Chong (Flesh Worm), resembling rotten apricot kernels. Fifth is the Fei Chong (Lung Worm), shaped like a silkworm. Sixth is the Wei Chong (Stomach Worm), shaped like a toad. Seventh is the Ruo Chong (Weak Worm), shaped like melon seeds. Eighth is the Chi Chong (Red Worm), resembling raw meat. Ninth is the Tiao Chong (Pinworm), extremely minute, shaped like a cabbage caterpillar. The Fu Chong is the leader of all worms. The Hui Chong pierces the Heart and can cause death. The Bai Chong reproduces, increasing its offspring; its mother grows larger and longer, up to four or five chi, and can also cause death. The Rou Chong causes vexation and fullness. The Fei Chong causes coughing. The Wei Chong causes vomiting and a tendency for rebellious Stomach Qi manifesting as belching. The Ruo Chong, also known as Ge Chong (Diaphragm Worm), causes excessive salivation. The Chi Chong causes borborygmus. The Tiao Chong dwells between the intestines; an excess leads to hemorrhoids, and severe cases lead to sores. Due to existing skin lesions, carbuncles, ulcers, tinea, and scabies may arise. The Qu Chong (Tooth Worm) does everything possible. Humans do not necessarily have all these worms, nor must they be numerous; some may have more of certain types, others fewer. Women often have more. These worms are fierce and represent a major affliction for humans. Bathing frequently with Baiyan Cao (Baiyan Grass) is beneficial; both roots and leaves can be used, as it is both a fragrant herb and something feared by corpse worms. Before taking tonics or treating various diseases, one must eliminate all worms, along with phlegm-fluids, retained food, and hangover remedies. Only after worms are completely removed can tonics be taken; otherwise, medicinal efficacy will be lost. When contracting Shanghan (Cold Damage) or epidemic febrile diseases, heat accumulates in the abdomen. With reduced food intake, the Intestines and Stomach become empty. The three worms move about seeking food, eroding the Five Zang Organs and the lower orifices. If teeth appear colorless, the tongue is entirely white, or severely, sores appear inside the lips, limbs feel heavy, and the person feels dazed and sleepy, one should frequently inspect the upper lip interior for sores, expectoration of blood, or millet-grain-like sores. Internal restlessness, pain, and stifling sensation indicate erosion by worms in the upper body. All nine worms arise from deficient Zang-Fu organs, particularly weak Spleen and Stomach, caused by indiscriminate consumption of raw/cold, sweet, fatty, greasy, or preserved foods, irregular lifestyle, and stagnation of putrefaction. Additionally, unsmooth Shen-Zhi (Spirit and Will), loss of Hun-Po (Ethereal and Corporeal Souls), internal heat from Zang-Fu exhaustion, residual toxins from illness, qi-blood stagnation, or ingestion of fruits/vegetables and animal viscera containing larvae can generate worms. Symptoms of worm infestation include nausea, vomiting of saliva, clear froth from the mouth, intermittent abdominal pain that comes and goes. Cunbai Chong (Tapeworm) is white and flat, depletes Jing-Qi, causing fatigue and lower back pain. Tiao Chong is fine like a cabbage caterpillar and can cause hemorrhoids, fistulas, sores, leprosy, tinea, and carbuncles. Cunbai, Tiao, and Hui are among the nine worms. Furthermore, children may suffer from Gan Ji (Malnutrition due to worms), characterized by lethargy, irritability, foul-smelling nasal discharge, dental caries, black bloody diarrhea. Worms eroding the lower part constitute "Hu" (Fox); sores on the lower lip indicate "Huo" (Confusion/Delusion) where worms erode the viscera; sores on the upper lip also occur. The "Three Worms" refer to Chang Chong (Long Worm), Chi Chong, and Tiao Chong. Among the nine types, Tiao and Cunbai are most common in people. Cunbai results from eating beef and drinking white wine; if connected and reaching one chi, it can be fatal. Medicinal expulsion requires the worms to clump, ulcerate, and be fully discharged for best results. If Tiao worms reproduce endlessly, rapid elimination is necessary. Tiao worms mostly affect children, though adults can too; symptoms include heart pain and morning vomiting of fluid with irritability. Other worms are generally harmful and enter the Stomach; Jiu Chong Wan (Nine Worms Pill) should be taken to eliminate them. The Hui Chong is one of the nine worms, typically one chi long, sometimes five or six cun. It moves due to Zang-Fu weakness or consumption of sweet/fatty foods. Upon activation, it causes abdominal pain, formation of accumulations, upward and downward movement, intermittent pain, cardiac pain, abdominal heat, excessive salivation, and vomiting of clear fluid. Severe piercing damage leads to hardness. Pulse diagnosis for abdominal pain suggests a deep, weak, or wiry pulse; if the pulse is instead surging and large, it indicates Hui Chong.
