[Formula Composition] Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma, processed with child's urine, wine, vinegar, and salt water in equal parts, total 4 liang), Moyao (Myrrha, 6 qian), Zaopi (Corni Fructus, roasted to remove oil), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, processed with child's urine), Fuling (Poria), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, soaked in rice washing water), Baiwei (Cynanchi Atrati Radix, washed to remove rhizome), Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini, stir-fried with clam powder), Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, each 4 liang for the above herbs), Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix, soaked and washed in wine. Take Yizhiren [Alpinia Oxyphyllae Fructus, 2 liang], stir-fry with wine, remove Yizhiren, keep purified Shengdi, 8 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Radix, 2 liang), Chuanduan (Dipsaci Radix, washed in wine, stir-fried with Wubeizi [Galla Chinensis] until clean, 6 liang), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, soaked and washed in wine, 4 liang), Sharen (Amomi Fructus, stir-fried and husked, 2 liang). Process the above drugs according to legal methods into fine powder. Use Shanyao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma, 12 liang) as powder, make pills with water. Take 50 pills with clear water on an empty stomach. ([Wu An] Zaopi is Corni Fructus.)
If Spleen and Stomach are damaged, food intake decreases, leading to Qi consumption and Blood exhaustion causing amenorrhea, one should tonify Spleen and Stomach, nourish Qi and Blood. When Qi is sufficient and Blood is generated, menstruation will naturally regulate. Strictly avoid using blood-invigorating and menstruation-promoting drugs, lest they damage Middle Qi. If Yin Blood is already dry and mistreatment leads to Lao Zhai (consumptive disease), it becomes incurable.
If due to overthinking, anger, resentment, and Qi stagnation, causing Blood stasis and amenorrhea, one should resolve stagnation and promote Qi movement. If mistakenly treated as deficiency and using tonification, Qi will become more knotted upon tonification, and Blood will become more coagulated, potentially leading to masses (Jia) and swelling/pain. This situation does occur.
If due to accumulation of body fat blocking the channels, and excessive phlegm-fluid obstructing the meridians, causing amenorrhea, one should move Qi and guide out phlegm, then menstruation will flow naturally.
[For] Damage to Spleen and Stomach, with non-moving Qi and Blood:
Renshen (Ginseng Radix, 3 qian), Huangqi (Astragali Radix, honey-fried), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, earth-stir-fried), Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, wine-stir-fried), Guishen (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, each 1 qian), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, 7 fen), Zhigancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, 5 fen), add Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata) and Maiya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus, stir-fried, each 5 qian), use Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and Dazao (Jujubae Fructus) as guides. Concurrently take Wuji Wan (Black Chicken Pill).
[For] Qi stagnation and Blood closure causing non-moving menstruation: It is suitable to take Kaiyu Erchen Tang (Stagnation-Resolving Erchen Decoction), concurrently with Sizhi Wufu Wan (Four-Processed Wu-Fu Pill).
[Sizhi Wufu Wan Composition] Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma, 1 jin, divided into four parts, main material soaked respectively in vinegar, wine, child's urine, and salt water for three days and nights, boiled dry in a clay pot with the soaking liquids, ground into fine powder), Tiantai Wuyao (Linderae Radix, 0.5 jin, processed with Fuzi [Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata] and ground into fine powder). Mix evenly, make pills with vinegar paste.
[For] Accumulation of body fat blocking channels, excessive phlegm-fluid, obstructing menstruation: It is suitable to take Cangsha Daotan Wan (Atractylodes and Amomum Phlegm-Guiding Pill), concurrently with Kaiyu Erchen Tang (Stagnation-Resolving Erchen Decoction), remove Ezhu (Curcumae Rhizoma), add Zhike (Citri Aurantii Fructus).
[For] Concubines, favored mistresses, widows, and unmarried women past marriageable age, whose desires arise but cannot be satisfied, and resentments accumulate without outlet, may also present with amenorrhea. Due to shyness and difficulty in speaking to others, this may lead to consumptive disease. It is suitable to take Sizhi Wufu Wan (Four-Processed Wu-Fu Pill), and large tonifying agents such as Renshen (Ginseng Radix) and Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma). Attack and tonification should be combined to treat disorders caused by Seven Emotions. If amenorrhea and bone-steaming fever occur with a weak pulse, it is difficult to treat.
