Congenital absence of skin in newborns has two main causes: one is the transmission of syphilis from parents; the other is prematurity, where the fetus is born before full term. The infant presents with missing skin, redness, swelling, and ulceration, accompanied by unbearable pain. For cases caused by maternal syphilitic toxin, internal administration of HuANJI Xiaodu San (Muscle-Replacing Detoxification Powder) combined with external application of Qingliang Ehuang Fen (Cooling Goose-Yellow Powder) can resolve the toxin and heal the skin. For cases caused by congenital deficiency (prenatal weakness), internal administration of Danggui Yin (Angelica Decoction) promotes skin recovery.
[Note] Infants born without skin present with two types of syndromes: One type results from parents having had Yangmei Jiedu (Chancre/Condyloma Acuminatum/Syphilitic Toxin), which infects the fetus, causing the infant to be born with red, ulcerated skin on either the upper or lower body, or even turning purple-black. The other type results from premature birth before full term, causing the entire body's skin to appear macerated, tender, red, and smooth. Both conditions are considered critical prognoses. For those with transmitted toxins, internally administer HuANJI Xiaodu San, and externally apply Qingliang Gao (Cooling Ointment) or Ehuang San (Goose-Yellow Powder). For those with insufficient prenatal essence, internally administer Danggui Yin, and externally dust with rice flour. "Resolving the toxin and completing the form" refers to the process where, after the toxic qi is cleared, the skin gradually regenerates completely and becomes firm.

When cloud-like flakes float on the surface, gently skim them off, retaining a small amount of clear water. Apply using a chicken feather to the affected area for self-healing.

Rice Flour Dusting Method
Grind early-ripening white rice into powder. Dust frequently onto the affected area; the skin will gradually regenerate.
