小儿胎病凡二端，在胎时母失爱护，或劳动气血相干，或坐卧饥饱相役，饮酒食肉，冷热相制，恐怖惊悸，血脉相
乱，蕴毒于内，损伤胎气，此胎热胎寒，胎肥胎怯，胎惊胎黄诸症，所由作也。又有落地时，浴体拭口，断脐灸囟之不
得法，绷袍惊恐，寒温乳哺之乖其宜，此嘬口、脐风、锁肚、不乳等症所由生也。黄帝云∶吾不能察其幼小，亦唯小
儿脏腑娇嫩，血气懦弱，肌体不密，精神未充，而用药消息之难耳。
胎热者，生后气急喘满，眼闭或目赤，眼胞浮肿，神困呵欠，呢呢作声，遍体壮热，小
便赤，大便涩，时复惊烦，宜至宝丹研服之，木通散与乳母服之。目不开，以二妙散温洗
之。不治，则生鹅口、木舌、重舌、紫赤丹瘤。
至宝丹
滑石（六两） 甘草 木香 陈皮 莪术 三棱（各一两） 茯神 白术 山药 远志 青
皮（各一两五钱） 甘松（五钱） 益智仁（七钱五分） 麝香（一钱五分）
一方，加人参一两。
蜜丸芡实大，朱砂为衣，灯心汤调化服。
此实时下所常用秘方也，不论内伤外感，变蒸寒热，一切治之。予谓此药，唯蒸症相
宜，次则郁热伏暑神剂。小儿夏月，宜多服之。补而不滞，泻而不偏，殊有妙用。
木通散 兼治小儿脐热，小腑闭，诸疮丹毒，母子同饮。
木通 蓄 大黄 甘草 瞿麦 赤茯 滑石 黄芩 薄荷 炒桅子 车前子
补中益气用升、柴天道之方也；此方车、茯、瞿、 ，地道之方也。小儿稚阳气纯，天道完全，故唯此法出入调理。
二妙散 大人翳膜血丝俱治。
文蛤（一两） 黄柏（二钱）
煎水熏洗。
小儿的胎病主要有两个方面：一是在胎儿时期，母亲未能妥善爱护，或者因劳累导致气血相互干扰；或者因坐卧姿势不当、饥饱失调而役使身体；或者饮酒吃肉，冷热食物相互制约；或者遭受恐怖惊吓，导致血脉紊乱。这些因素使毒素蕴结于体内，损伤了胎气，从而产生了胎热、胎寒、胎肥、胎怯、胎惊、胎黄等各种病症。另一方面，在婴儿出生落地时，如果洗浴身体、擦拭口腔、断脐带、灸囟门的方法不得当，或者包裹襁褓时受到惊恐，以及寒温调节和哺乳喂养不合宜，就会导致撮口、脐风、锁肚、不乳等病症的产生。黄帝说：“我不能详细观察幼小的孩童，也只是因为小儿脏腑娇嫩，血气虚弱，肌体不够致密，精神尚未充盈，所以用药时需要仔细斟酌把握分寸罢了。”
所谓胎热，是指婴儿出生后出现气急喘满，眼睛闭合或眼白发红，眼睑浮肿，精神困倦并伴有呵欠，嘴里发出呢喃声，全身壮热，小便颜色深红，大便干涩难解，时常感到惊恐烦躁。治疗适宜服用至宝丹（Zhibao Dan, Precious Treasure Pill），研碎后喂服；同时让乳母服用木通散（Mutong San, Wood-Through Powder）。如果眼睛不能睁开，可用二妙散（Ermiao San, Two Marvels Powder）温水清洗。如果不及时治疗，就会发展为鹅口疮（Go Kou, Goose Mouth Thrush）、木舌（Mu She, Wooden Tongue）、重舌（Chong She, Double Tongue）、紫赤丹瘤（Zi Chi Dan Liu, Purple-red Carbuncle Tumor）。
至宝丹（Zhibao Dan, Precious Treasure Pill）
配方：滑石（Hua Shi, Talcum）六两，甘草（Gan Cao, Licorice Root）、木香（Mu Xiang, Aucklandia Root）、陈皮（Chen Pi, Tangerine Peel）、莪术（E Zhu, Curcuma Zedoaria Rhizome）、三棱（San Leng, Sparganium Rhizome）各一两，茯神（Fu Shen, Poria with Hostwood）、白术（Bai Zhu, Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome）、山药（Shan Yao, Dioscorea Opposite Rhizome）、远志（Yuan Zhi, Polygala Root）、青皮（Qing Pi, Immature Tangerine Peel）各一两五钱，甘松（Gan Song, Nardostachys Radix）五钱，益智仁（Yi Zhi Ren, Alpinia Oxyphylla Fruit）七钱五分，麝香（She Xiang, Moschus）一钱五分。
另一版本方剂，加入人参（Ren Shen, Ginseng Root）一两。
制成蜜丸，大小如芡实，外层用朱砂（Zhu Sha, Cinnabar）为衣，用灯心草汤（Deng Xin Tang, Juncus Decoction）调化后服用。
这是当时民间常用的秘方，无论是内伤还是外感，无论是变蒸（Bian Zheng, Infantile Developmental Fever）引起的寒热，还是其他病症，都能治疗。我认为此药最适合用于变蒸症，其次是治疗郁热伏暑的神效方剂。小儿在夏季，适宜多服用此药。它补益而不滞塞，泻下而不偏颇，具有奇妙的效用。
木通散（Mutong San, Wood-Through Powder）
兼治小儿脐部发热、小便闭塞、各种疮疡丹毒，母子共同饮用。
配方：木通（Mu Tong, Akebia Stem）、蓄（Ji She, Plantago Seed）、大黄（Da Huang, Rhubarb Root）、甘草（Gan Cao, Licorice Root）、瞿麦（Qu Mai, Dianthus Flower）、赤茯苓（Chi Fu Ling, Red Poria）、滑石（Hua Shi, Talcum）、黄芩（Huang Qin, Scutellaria Root）、薄荷（Bo He, Mint Leaf）、炒栀子（Chao Zhi Zi, Gardenia Fruit Stir-fried）、车前子（Che Qian Zi, Plantago Seed）。
补中益气汤（Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang, Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction）中使用升麻（Sheng Ma, Cimicifuga Rhizome）、柴胡（Chai Hu, Bupleurum Root）是顺应天道的方剂；此方使用车前子、茯苓、瞿麦、蓄，是顺应地道的方剂。小儿稚阳之气纯正，天道完全，所以只有这种方法可以出入调理。
二妙散（Ermiao San, Two Marvels Powder）
大人患有翳膜（Yi Mo, Corneal Opacity）和血丝均可治疗。
配方：文蛤（Wen Ge, Clam Shell）一两，黄柏（Huang Bo, Phellodendron Bark）二钱。
煎水熏洗。
There are two main aspects to fetal diseases in infants. During pregnancy, if the mother fails to provide proper care, or if physical exertion causes disturbance of Qi and Blood, or if sitting and lying postures, along with irregular eating habits (hunger and fullness), strain the body, or if alcohol and meat consumption lead to a conflict between cold and hot influences, or if fear and fright cause disorder of the blood vessels, toxins accumulate internally, damaging the fetal Qi. This is the origin of various conditions such as fetal heat, fetal cold, fetal obesity, fetal weakness, fetal fright, and fetal jaundice. Furthermore, upon birth, improper methods for bathing the body, wiping the mouth, cutting the umbilical cord, or moxibustion on the fontanelle, combined with fright from swaddling, inappropriate regulation of cold and warmth, or improper breastfeeding, give rise to conditions such as beaked mouth (Cuo Kou), neonatal tetanus (Qi Feng), abdominal locking (Suo Du), and failure to suckle (Bu Ru). The Yellow Emperor said, "I cannot fully observe the young ones; it is precisely because infants have delicate Zang-Fu organs, weak Qi and Blood, loose integument, and unfulfilled spirit, making the dosage and administration of medicine difficult to manage."
Fetal heat refers to symptoms appearing after birth, including rapid breathing and wheezing, eyes closed or red sclera, swollen eyelids, lethargy with yawning, muttering sounds, generalized high fever, dark red urine, constipation, and frequent fright and irritability. It is appropriate to administer Zhibao Dan (Precious Treasure Pill) ground and taken orally, while the nursing mother should take Mutong San (Wood-Through Powder). If the eyes do not open, wash them gently with warm Ermiao San (Two Marvels Powder). If left untreated, these may develop into goose mouth thrush (Go Kou), wooden tongue (Mu She), double tongue (Chong She), or purple-red carbuncles (Zi Chi Dan Liu).
Zhibao Dan (Precious Treasure Pill)
Ingredients: Talcum (Liu Liang), Licorice Root, Aucklandia Root, Tangerine Peel, Curcuma Zedoaria Rhizome, Sparganium Rhizome (each Yi Liang), Poria with Hostwood, Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome, Dioscorea Opposite Rhizome, Polygala Root, Immature Tangerine Peel (each Yi Liang Wu Qian), Nardostachys Radix (Wu Qian), Alpinia Oxyphylla Fruit (Qi Qian Wu Fen), Moschus (Yi Qian Wu Fen).
Alternative prescription: Add Ginseng Root (Yi Liang).
Form honey pills the size of Euryale seeds, coated with Cinnabar, and dissolve/administer using Juncus Decoction.
This is a commonly used secret formula among people at present, effective for internal injuries, external contractions, Bian Zheng (infantile developmental fever) with alternating chills and fever, and all other conditions. I believe this medicine is most suitable for Bian Zheng, and secondarily serves as a divine remedy for stagnant heat and latent summerheat. Infants should take more of this during summer. It tonifies without stagnation and purges without bias, possessing remarkable efficacy.
Mutong San (Wood-Through Powder)
Also treats infant navel heat, urinary obstruction, and various sores and erysipelas. Mother and child drink together.
Ingredients: Akebia Stem, Plantago Seed, Rhubarb Root, Licorice Root, Dianthus Flower, Red Poria, Talcum, Scutellaria Root, Mint Leaf, Stir-fried Gardenia Fruit, Plantago Seed.
Bu Zhong Yi Qi Decoction (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) uses Cimicifuga Rhizome and Bupleurum Root as a method following the Heavenly Dao; this formula uses Plantago Seed, Poria, Dianthus Flower, and Plantago Seed as a method following the Earthly Dao. Since infants possess pure稚 Yang Qi and complete Heavenly Dao, only this method is suitable for regulating their condition through entry and exit.
Ermiao San (Two Marvels Powder)
Treats corneal opacity and blood vessels in adults.
Ingredients: Clam Shell (Yi Liang), Phellodendron Bark (Er Qian).
Decoct water for fumigation and washing.
