热捣贴脐上。良久尿出痛止。 如先恶寒小腹痛甚。皮急一脚不能举行者。又须以肠痈治之。

〔疳疾〕 如心脏受疳者。小便不通。口干。舌烂。牙臭。此乃心脏受积也。用羊肝散。

羊肝一
具竹刀剖开一缝。将药末五分入肝内。用线捆好。砂锅内煮熟肝为度。随时服七日。频服即

〔五疳丸〕 治一切疳疾皆效。羊肝一具。（竹刀切片新瓦上焙干）海螵蛸。（二两醋浸
炒黄）白米。（炒五钱）和羊肝同捣。丸如黍米大。日服二钱。米汤下。肚大筋青。口舌生
疮皆效。
〔五疳八痢〕 面黄肌瘦发焦。诸药不效。用牙皂荚。（二个去皮炙酥）蛤粉。（三钱）

〔久疳不愈〕 疳积病久。身体羸弱。不能重药下者。雄猪肝。（不见水者四两。竹刀

〔天萝水〕 （一名西来甘露饮。）治痘疮清热解毒。及斑疹烦热。口渴。咳嗽。疹色

燥。或谵语喘急。睡卧不宁。服之神效。痘症发热三四日而热不退。痘色红紫口渴。大便燥
结之症。服之即能红润。 丝瓜藤霜降后三日近根三尺剪断。将根头一节倒插入新瓦瓶中。
上以物盖之。勿使灰入。次日另用新坛一只。将瓶中之汁倾在坛内。将藤仍插入瓶中。三日
后汁收尽。（不拘三五枝数）将坛封固窨于泥地上。如遇热症痘疹。每服两酒杯。和蜜少许

〔防痘入目〕 未见痘时。用绿豆七粒。令儿自投井中。频看井中七次而还。 胭脂。

〔痘疮不靥及痂靥不落〕 猪骨髓。白蜜。共捣匀。火上熬三五沸退凉。用鸡翎刷上。

〔痘痂不落肿而成斑痕者〕 马齿苋。（捣汁）猪脂油。（熬净）石蜜。各等分。共熬成
膏。
涂肿处即消。并治痘后肿毒。
〔落靥后 痘疤痛痒〕 马齿苋。（捣汁一碗）冰糖。（一两）猪脂油。（三钱）绿豆。
赤小
豆。（研末各五钱）先将苋菜汁同豆末熬成膏。加入糖油和匀涂之。
〔出汗不止〕 牡蛎粉。贝母。（各五钱）粳米粉。（一升）和匀。绢袋盛。周身扑之即
止。
〔痘有浆时腹泻〕 大魁栗。（以酒坛头黄泥和湿火煨熟）服之即止。
【尿血】取甘草一钱，煎煮成汤剂。用此汤调服六一散一钱。（若加入升麻二三分，疗效更佳。）
【小便不通】使用木通、茄子蒂，加水煎煮后服用，可立即通畅。同时也用于治疗排尿梗塞。
【阴囊突然肿痛】取生甘草汁与蚯蚓粪，调和后涂抹患处。或者用蝉蜕煎汤，清洗两三次即可见效。内服四苓散（由白术、赤茯苓、泽泻、猪苓组成），各药等分，每次服用二钱，用灯心草汤调服。如果是误中蚯蚓毒导致突然肿胀，先用盐水清洗，然后用鸭血涂抹。
【脱囊疮】因湿热所致，表现为阴囊溃烂，皮肤脱落，睾丸欲坠。用紫苏叶研成细末，若患处潮湿则直接撒粉，若干燥则用清油调和后敷贴。（多年生的白螺蛳壳研成末外搽也有效。）内服木通五分、甘草三分、黄连炒四分、当归……（原文此处中断）
【疝气】睾丸缩入腹中并伴有腹痛。用小茴香一钱研成末，用好酒调服。
【盘肠吊痛】突然腹部剧烈绞痛。用一大把葱捣烂煎汤，用手巾蘸取药液清洗患儿腹部，再将炒热的葱白捣烂贴在脐上，良久后尿液排出，疼痛停止。如果先出现恶寒且小腹痛甚，皮肤紧绷，一条腿无法抬起行走的，必须按肠痈治疗。用苍耳子二钱、杏仁、薄荷、栝蒌各一钱、甘草五分，水与酒各半煎煮后服用，药渣敷在脐上，服两次见效。如果大便下脓血，加木香、当归各五分，同煎服用。此外，每日空腹用酒吞服蜡矾丸三五十丸。
【疳疾】如心脏受疳，表现为小便不通、口干、舌体糜烂、牙齿发臭，这是心脏受积滞所伤。用羊肝散：谷精草五钱、胡黄连二钱、甘草五分、地骨皮五钱、芦荟三分，全部研成末。取一个羊肝，用竹刀剖开一道缝，将药末五分放入肝内，用线捆好，在砂锅中煮熟肝脏为止，随时服用，连服七日，频繁服用即见效。
【肝脏受疳】眼睛生翳膜，畏光看不清物体。用鸡肝散：雄黄、威灵仙、谷精草、蛤粉、夜明砂（用水洗净，各一钱），全部研成末。每次取一个鸡肝，放入药末五分，在砂锅中煮熟，连汁一起服用，以痊愈为度。
另法：取一个鸡肝（不接触铁器，不沾水），加入少许硼砂，蒸熟服用十次，即可使盲人复明。
【胃脏受疳】腹泻、口干、夜间盗汗。用茯苓、土炒白术、泽泻各二钱、山楂肉……（原文此处中断，接下文米汤下）
【肺脏受疳】发热、夜间啼哭、胸部高耸、咳嗽。用天冬、麦冬、苦楝皮、桑白皮、橘红、生地各三钱，河水十碗煎至一碗，再加入炼熟的白蜜八两、山药一两研成的末，再煎成膏状。每日服用三次，即见效。

【完谷不化】因脾胃不能消化运化所致。用绿矾一钱做馅，做成一个面馒头，蒸好后晒干，火煅存性研细，绿色转为红色时，用砂糖调服一钱，直到大便恢复正常即停药。
【五疳丸】治疗各种疳疾均有效。取一个羊肝（用竹刀切片，在新瓦上焙干），海螵蛸二两（醋浸后炒黄），白米炒五钱，与羊肝一同捣碎，制成如黍米大小的丸药。每日服用二钱，用米汤送服。对于肚大筋青、口舌生疮皆有效。
【五疳八痢】面色萎黄、肌肉消瘦、头发焦枯，其他药物无效。用牙皂荚二个（去皮炙酥）、蛤粉三钱、麝香一分（另研）、大虾蟆二个（在瓦上炙至焦黑枯存性），全部研成末，用米糊制成如粟米大小的丸药。每次服用二三十丸，用米饮送服。
【疳鼓】久患疳疾导致腹胀如鼓者。取一个大虾蟆剖开，放入白豆蔻四十九粒，外用黄泥封固，火煅存性。每次服用一钱五分，用淡酒送服，效果显著。如果是因湿气而成，用炒燥的一两鸡屎，加入丁香一钱，研……（原文此处中断）
【久疳不愈】疳积病日久，身体羸弱，不能承受峻猛药物者。取不见水的猪肝四两，用竹刀批开，放入晒干的荷叶末（每次用二钱），蒸熟后空腹服用。半日后若有恶物从大便排出即见效。再以人参、茯苓、白术之类调理。立秋后，取大虾蟆（去头足肠，涂麻油），在净瓦上炙熟食之，积秽自下，连服五六枚，一月之后容貌神态顿改，其效如神。一切疳积、泻痢、疳泄均可治疗。
【走马牙疳】即肾经受疳，肌肉消瘦，遍身生疮，寒热交替，头热脚冷，牙床腐烂溃脱。“走马”形容病情危急。多因痘疹余毒所致，或热盛而成。患病严重者黑色腐烂且发臭，宜多吃绿豆汁清热解毒。初起时用人中白（即多年尿缸中沉淀的白色物质，以风吹日久干燥者为良，或尿壶中的白碱洗净，在瓦上研磨极细）。先用荆芥汤清洗疳处，每日敷贴六七次。（唾液向外流出为吉，涎毒向内收敛为凶。）或用妇人尿桶中的白垢（火煅研细一钱）、铜绿真品三分、麝香一分，和匀研细，贴敷患处，神效。
川黄柏、竹叶、甘草、青黛各六分、麝香少许，全部研细和匀，敷患处神效。如果出现口臭、涎液秽浊、黑色腐烂不脱落、牙齿脱落无血，用药无效，穿腮破唇，均为不治之症。马桶碱（不拘多少，用米醋洗三次），常年擦牙则可避免此病。
【疳痢】用益母草叶煮粥食用，并绞汁服用，立效。鸡肫皮炒黄色研成末，每次服用一钱，同时治疗水样腹泻及脾胃虚弱。
【肚腹胀满】胀久形成鼓胀者。用一个猪肚，放入大蒜肉四两，同煮至蒜化为程度（忌盐酱）。吃三个全效。（其余案例：治疗一人十二岁时入夏后腹满，用广陈皮、半夏、腹皮等药，症状随减随发，至两个月后，早晚胀急，牵连腰胯，气促食少，诸药无效。吃了两个蒜煮猪肚后恢复如初，五六个未再复发。）

【六味稀痘饮】在即将发痘时预先服用，出痘无虞。山楂、牛蒡子、紫草各一钱，防风、荆芥各一钱二分，甘草五分，生姜一片，水煎服。在将出未见点时，用绿萼梅蕊三钱、草兰五朵，水煎服。（花须预先采收焙干，或用蜜封存。）即使出痘多也可减少，并使痘易发。

出痘时或因触犯，或痘不起，多用胡荽（即芫荽菜），捣汁和酒，喷洒在卧处、门户、床帐及墙壁各处即起。如果手足痘未发齐，水煎汤温洗，神效。（若幼儿虚弱，天时阴寒，即无变症，用之最妙。若幼儿壮实，春夏晴暖，又不适宜。）用红枣烧烟熏之亦妙。不论冬夏阴晴，凡出痘家皆宜用，能转逆为顺。
【天萝水】（一名西来甘露饮。）治疗痘疮清热解毒，及斑疹烦热、口渴、咳嗽、疹色枯躁，或谵语喘急、睡卧不宁，服之神效。痘症发热三四日而热不退，痘色红紫口渴，大便燥结之症，服之即能红润。
丝瓜藤在霜降后三日，距根三尺剪断，将根头一节倒插入新瓦瓶中，上面盖住，勿使灰尘进入。次日另用新坛一只，将瓶中之汁倾在坛内，将藤仍插入瓶中，三天后汁收尽（不拘三五枝数量）。将坛封固窨于泥地上。如遇热症痘疹，每次服两酒杯，加少许蜂蜜温服二三次，胜于其他凉药。若夹斑痘疹，和犀角磨汁服；寒月加酒服。一切时疫热症，或配药服之甚验。
【防痘入目】未见痘时，用绿豆七粒，让儿童自己投入井中，频频看井中七次而还。胭脂（不拘多少），在口中嚼汁，频频揩擦眼眶，则痘不入目。
如已见点，用牛蒡子（不拘多少），乳母在口中嚼烂，贴于婴儿头顶囟门，则痘不入目。
【痘疮入目】眼中已生痘，用芥菜子一合研碎，入百草霜同研匀，男女各吐津一口，拌匀作饼。（左目则贴右足心，右目则贴左足心。）两目皆有，贴左右足心，一昼夜即消。黑狗耳上取血一滴，入眼角即去。兔粪（炒黄为末），炼蜜丸绿豆大，用木通蝉蜕煎汤下三十丸，以痊愈为度。眼内有痘痛楚者，用浮萍（晒干为末三钱，晒时摊竹筛上，下用水映，则易……（原文此处中断）
【痘疮入目后生膜翳】白菊花、谷精草、绿豆皮（各等分），为末。每次用一钱，用柿子一个、米泔水一盏，同煎，候水干，只吃柿饼，日三次，十日见效。
【痘后眼疳】菊花、蛤粉、兔粪、草决明、谷精草各一两，蝉蜕去翅足三钱，为末。鸡肝一个（不落水者），竹刀批开，入药末一钱，箬叶包裹蒸熟食之，以痊愈为度。
【痘疮作痒】荆芥穗一把束成帚，刷痘痒处，以散郁邪，其痒即止。再以茵陈梗叶烧烟，房内熏之。
【痘陷不起】痘色变黑气欲绝者，穿山甲（洗净，蛤粉炒令黄脆为末），每次用五分，紫苏煎汤，加酒调服，即发红色如神。倒陷黑色，口唇冰冷，取狗蝇七枚（狗身上夏季最多，冬季藏于耳中以镊取），焙干为末，酒调下，移时即红润如常。痘疮倒陷，人中白（火煅为末），水调三钱服之，陷者自起，年长者加倍。（此三方，按《本草》亦皆验过而无碍，胜如用人牙多矣。）
【治痘口渴】红花子、牛蒡子，水煎细细咽之，即口中如烟，服之即止。（按红花子能治血热烦渴，天行时痘，宜水吞数粒甚效。）
【痘疮擦破】松花糁之即效。发热发痒擦破，用蝉蜕、地骨皮各一两，为末。每次服用二三匙，白汤服，日二三次。
【烂痘及误抓破者】黄牛粪（在风露中久干者火煅成灰），取中心白者为末，以薄绢包盛于疮上扑之。如久不愈，墙上白螺蛳壳研敷之。
【斑烂】痘出抓成疮，浓血淋漓者是。多年墙屋上烂草，焙燥研极细，糁疮上即效。（此草善解疮毒之功甚验。）气虚血热，遍身皆是者，铺席上，令儿坐卧其间甚验。黄豆壳烧白灰，研细糁之。遍身无皮，脓水粘衣被，茶叶（不拘斤数拣去子梗净），入滚水一泡，随即捞起，乘湿铺床上，用草纸隔一层，令儿睡一夜则脓皆干，神效。
【痘后不收脓】墙上草研末（即前治斑烂之草），敷之。内服保元汤：人参一钱、黄芪二钱、甘草五钱、生姜二片，水煎，不拘时服。
【痘痂燥】痂皮溅起作痛，或痘痂欲落不落者，白蜜（不拘多少），略用汤和稀，时时以鹅翎润痛处，痘痂易落无痕。
【痘疮不靥及痂靥不落】猪骨髓、白蜜，共捣匀，火上熬三五沸退凉，用鸡翎刷上，数次即落。如不能脱靥，用乳香房内焚之。
【痘痂不落肿而成斑痕者】马齿苋（捣汁）、猪脂油（熬净）、石蜜，各等分，共熬成膏，涂肿处即消。并治痘后肿毒。
【落靥后痘疤痛痒】马齿苋捣汁一碗，冰糖一两，猪脂油三钱，绿豆、赤小豆研末各五钱。先将苋菜汁同豆末熬成膏，加入糖油和匀涂之。
[Haematuria] Decoct one qian of Gancao (Licorice Root) in water. Mix with one qian of Liuyi San (Six-to-One Powder) and take orally. (Adding two to three fen of Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) is more effective.)
[Urinary Retention] Use Mutong (Akebiae Caulis) and Qie'er Di (Eggplant Peduncle). Decoct in water and take; urination will resume immediately. This also treats urinary obstruction.
[Sudden Swelling and Pain of the Scrotum] Apply a mixture of raw Gancao juice (Licorice Juice) and Earthworm Faeces (Qiu Yin Fen) topically. Alternatively, decoct Chantui (Cicada Slough) in water and wash the area two or three times for effectiveness. Internally, take Siling San (Four-Ingredient Powder) composed of Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Chifuling (Poria with Hostwood), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), and Zhuling (Polyporus), in equal parts. Take two qian each time, mixed with Dengxincao (Junci Medulla) decoction. If sudden swelling occurs due to earthworm toxicity, first wash with salt water, then apply duck blood.
[Scrotal Ulceration] Caused by damp-heat, manifesting as scrotal ulceration, skin shedding, and testicles protruding. Grind Zi Su Ye (Perillae Folium) into fine powder. If the lesion is moist, sprinkle the powder directly; if dry, mix with clear oil for topical application. (Powdered shells of white snails aged for many years are also effective when applied.) [Hernia] When the testes retract into the abdomen accompanied by abdominal pain. Grind Xiao Huixiang (Foeniculi Fructus) one qian into powder, mix with good wine, and take orally.
[Intestinal Colic] Sudden severe cramping pain in the abdomen. Crush a large handful of Cong Bai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus), decoct in water, soak a towel in the liquid, and wash the infant's abdomen. Then, stir-fry Cong Bai until hot, crush it, and apply it to the navel. After a while, urination occurs and pain stops. If preceded by aversion to cold, severe lower abdominal pain, tight skin, and inability to lift one leg, treat as Intestinal Abscess (Chang Yong). Use Cang Er Zi (Xanthii Fructus, 2 qian), Xingren (Prunus Semen), Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba), Gualou (Trichosanthis Fructus) each 1 qian, Gancao (5 fen). Decoct in half water and half wine, take orally. Apply the dregs to the navel. Effective after two doses. If pus and blood appear in stool, add Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix) and Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) each 5 fen, decoct together. Additionally, swallow Lafa Wan (Wax Pill) 30-50 pills with wine on an empty stomach daily.
[Infantile Malnutrition - Heart Involvement] If the Heart is affected by malnutrition, symptoms include urinary retention, dry mouth, tongue ulceration, and foul breath. This indicates accumulation in the Heart. Use Yanggan San (Sheep Liver Powder): Gujingcao (Gaultheriae Herba, 5 qian), Huhuanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, 2 qian), Gancao (5 fen), Digupi (Lycii Cortex, 5 qian), Lushen (Aloe, 3 fen). Grind all into powder. Make a slit in one sheep liver with a bamboo knife, insert 5 fen of the powder, tie securely, and cook thoroughly in a clay pot. Take at any time; frequent administration over seven days yields results.
[Infantile Malnutrition - Liver Involvement] Eye opacity, photophobia, and blurred vision. Use Jigan San (Chicken Liver Powder): Xionghuang (Realgar), Weilingxian (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Gujingcao, Gafen (Concha Meretricis), Yeming Sha (Turdus Freybergi Faeces) (washed clean, each 1 qian). [Infantile Malnutrition - Lung Involvement] Fever, nocturnal crying, distended chest, cough. Use Tiandong (Asparagi Radix), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix), Kulianpi (Meliae Cortex), Sangbaipi (Mori Cortex), Juhong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum), Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix) each 3 qian. Decoct in ten bowls of river water until reduced to one bowl. Add 8 liang of refined honey and 1 liang of Shanyao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) powder, and simmer into an ointment. [Malnutrition due to Food Injury] Collect Wugu Chong (Grub) in June, wash clean, seal in a bamboo tube, dry, and grind into powder. Add a little Shexiang (Moschus). Take 1-2 qian with rice water.
For abdominal hardness due to food stagnation, use semi-dry Xiang Yuan (Citrus Fruit), soak in a urine chamber (changed daily) for one month, take out, wash, dry, and grind into powder. Take 1 qian mixed with warm water; infants take 3-5 fen. If the abdomen is soft, continue taking Fei'er Wan (Child-Nourishing Pill).
[Undigested Food in Stool] Caused by spleen and stomach inability to digest and transport. Make a dough wrapper with 1 qian of Lvfan (Green Vitriol), form one steamed bun, steam, dry, calcine until green turns red, grind fine, and take 1 qian mixed with sugar. Stop when stool returns to normal.
[Wu Gan Wan (Five Malnutrition Pills)] Effective for all types of malnutrition. One sheep liver (sliced with bamboo knife, dried on new tile), Hai Piao Xiao (Sepiae Endoconcha, 2 liang soaked in vinegar and stir-fried yellow), Bai Mi (Rice, stir-fried 5 qian). Pound together with the liver, form pills the size of millet seeds. Take 2 qian daily with rice water. Effective for distended belly with visible veins and oral ulcers.
[Wu Gan Ba Li (Five Malnutrition Eight Dysenteries)] Yellow face, emaciation, brittle hair, unresponsive to other drugs. Ya Zao Jia (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus, two peeled and roasted crisp), Gafen (3 qian), Shexiang (1 fen separately ground), Da Xia Ma (Large Toad, two roasted on tile until black and charred but preserved nature). Grind all into powder, bind with rice paste into pills the size of millet seeds. Take 20-30 pills with rice drink.
[Gan Drum] Abdominal distension like a drum due to chronic malnutrition. Cut open one large toad, insert 49 Bai Dou Kou (Cardamomi Fructus), seal with yellow mud, calcine. [Chronic Malnutrition Unresolved] Long-standing malnutrition with emaciation, unable to tolerate strong purgatives. Use 4 liang of fresh pig liver (not touched by water), slice with bamboo knife. Insert 2 qian of dried He Ye (Nelumbinis Folium) powder, steam until cooked, take on an empty stomach. After half a day, foul matter discharged from bowels indicates efficacy. Then regulate with Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Fuling, Baizhu. After Start of Autumn, take large toads (remove head, feet, intestines, coat with sesame oil), roast on clean tile until cooked and eat. Accumulated filth will discharge naturally. Consume 5-6 pieces continuously; appearance improves dramatically within a month. Effective for all malnutrition, dysentery, and diarrhoea.
[Running Horse Gum Disease] Kidney meridian affected by malnutrition, muscle wasting, body sores, alternating chills and fever, hot head and cold feet, gum rotting and shedding. "Running Horse" denotes critical urgency. Often caused by residual toxins from smallpox/rubella or excessive heat. Severe cases involve black putrefaction and odor. Drink mung bean juice to clear heat. Early stage: use Ren Zhong Bai (Human Urine Deposit, aged dried residue from urine pots). Wash with Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba) decoction, apply 6-7 times daily. (Saliva flowing out is auspicious; toxin retreating inward is ominous.) Alternatively, use Bai Gou (White scale from women's urine bucket, calcined 1 qian), Tong Lv (Chloropyrum, true variety 3 fen), Shexiang (1 fen). Mix finely and apply for miraculous effect.
Chuan Huangbo (Phellodendri Cortex), Zhu Ye (Bambusae Folium), Gancao, Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis) each 6 fen, Shexiang少许. Grind and apply miraculously. Bad breath, thick saliva, black putrefaction not shedding, tooth loss without bleeding, drug failure, cheek perforation, lip rupture are incurable. Toilet alkali (washed 3 times with rice vinegar) rubbed on teeth annually prevents this disease.
[Gan Dysentery] Cook Yi Mu Cao (Leonuri Herba) leaves into porridge and eat. Also squeeze juice and drink for immediate effect. Ji Tun Pi (Gallbladder Membrane of Chicken) stir-fried yellow, ground. Take 1 qian; also treats watery diarrhoea and spleen-stomach deficiency.
[Abdominal Distension] Chronic distension leading to drum-like abdomen. Use one pig stomach, add 4 liang garlic cloves, boil until garlic dissolves (avoid salt/soy sauce). (Note: Zi Cao activates blood, clears heat, benefits large intestine. Suitable for pre-eruption with blood-heat/toxin and constipation. Not suitable if spots are bright red or white depressed with free stool. Using buds leverages initial yang energy to promote eruption miraculously.)
Lv E Mei Rui (roasted 5 qian), Tao Ren (Prunus Semen), Zhu Sha (Cinnabar), Gancao each 1 qian, Lao Si Gua (Old Luffa fruit near stem, 3 qian calcined). Grind. Take 5 fen with warm water. Lifts hidden spots. Also treats measles/rash. (Note: Calcined Luffa clears meridians, dispels wind, detoxifies. Mixed with cinnabar and honey is excellent.)
During eruption, if triggered or stalled, use Hu Sui (Coriandri Fructus), crush juice, mix with wine, spray on bed, doors, walls. If limbs have incomplete eruption, wash with warm decoction. (Best for weak children in cold weather; avoid in robust children during warm seasons). Roast red dates for smoke fumigation is also good. Reverses adverse conditions.
[Tian Luo Shui (West Heavenly Nectar Drink)] Clears heat, detoxifies smallpox/rashes, treats irritability, thirst, cough, dry rash color, delirium, panting, restlessness. Miraculous for fever persisting 3-4 days, purple-red spots, thirst, constipation; restores pink color.
Cut Luffa Caulis 3 chi from root 3 days after Frost Descent. Insert root end upside down into new clay bottle, cover to keep dust out. Next day, pour juice into new jar, re-insert vine. After 3 days, collect juice. Seal and bury in mud. For heat-type smallpox, take two wine cups mixed with honey, warm, 2-3 times. Superior to other cooling herbs. For mixed rashes, mix with Xi Jiao juice; in cold months, mix with wine. Effective for seasonal fevers.
[Prevent Smallpox Entering Eyes] Before spots appear, give child 7 mung beans to drop in a well, watch the well 7 times. Chew Yan Zhi (Rouge) in mouth, frequently wipe eye orbits to prevent entry.
If spots visible, chew Niu Bang Zi in mother's mouth, apply to infant's fontanelle to prevent entry.
[Smallpox Entering Eyes] Spots already in eyes. Crush 1 he of Mustard Seed (Jie Zi), mix with Bai Cao Shuang (Tree Soot), add spit from male/female, form cake. Apply right sole for left eye, left sole for right eye. Both eyes: apply both soles. Disappears in 24 hours. Black dog ear blood drop into eye corner removes it. Tu Fen (Rabbit Faeces, fried yellow powder), honey pills size of mung bean, take 30 pills with Mutong/Chantui decoction. [Depressed Smallpox] Dark spots, vital qi failing. Chuan Shan Jia (Manis Squama) washed, stir-fried with Gafen until yellow/crisp, powder. Take 5 fen, decoct Zi Su (Perillae Folium), mix with wine. Restores red color miraculously. Inverted black spots, cold lips: take 7 Dog Fly larvae (summer max, winter in ears), dry, powder, wine. Restores color. Inverted spots: Ren Zhong Bai (calcined powder), water mix 3 qian. Depressed spots rise. Elderly double dose. (These three formulas verified in Materia Medica, safer than human teeth.)
[Treat Smallpox Thirst] Hong Hua Zi (Carthami Seed), Niu Bang Zi, decoct, sip slowly. Stops smoky sensation/thirst. (Hong Hua Zi treats blood-heat thirst, epidemic smallpox; swallowing several grains in water is effective.)
[Scratched Smallpox] Dust with Song Hua (Pollen Pinus). Itch/fever scratches: Chan Tui, Di Gu Pi each 1 liang, powder. Take 2-3 spoons with warm water, 2-3 times daily.
[Rotten Smallpox & Scratches] Yellow Cow Dung (wind/dew dried, calcined ash), take center white part, powder, pack in thin silk, dust on sore. If chronic, use White Snail Shell from wall, grind and apply.
[Ulcerated Smallpox] Buckwheat flour in silk bag, dust on ulcers. Or spread on mat to lie on.
[Rash/Ulceration] Scratched pustules with pus/blood. Old rotten grass from walls/roofs, dried, fine powder, dust on sores. (Excellent for resolving toxin). For qi-deficiency blood-heat covering body, spread on mat for child to sit/lie on. Soybean husk calcined to white ash, fine powder, dust. Body skinless, pus sticky: Tea leaves (de-stemmed), steep in boiling water, remove while wet, spread on bed, cover with straw paper, sleep overnight. Pus dries miraculously.
[Damp Ulceration] Smallpox/rash >10 days, damp/ulcerated, no scab. Dust with dry mung bean powder.
[Head Scabs Not Forming] Black beans (charred, fine powder), mix with sesame oil, apply.
[Pus Not Resolving Post-Smallpox] Wall grass powder (same as above), apply. Internally, Bao Yuan Tang: Renshen 1 qian, Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) 2 qian, Gancao 5 qian, Sheng Jiang 2 slices. Decoct, take anytime.
[Dry Scabs] Crusty scabs causing pain or reluctant to fall. Bai Mi (Honey), dilute with water, moisten painful area with goose feather frequently. Scabs fall easily without scars.
[Non-Falling Scabs/Crusts] Pig Marrow, Bai Mi, pound together, boil 3-5 times, cool. Brush with chicken feather. Falls off in几次. If crust won't detach, burn Ru Xiang (Olibanum) in room.
[Swelling/Scarring from Non-Falling Scabs] Ma Chi Xian (Portulacae Herba) juice, Zhu Zhi You (Pork Lard) clarified, Shi Mi (Rock Sugar) equal parts. Simmer into ointment. Apply to swelling. Treats post-smallpox abscesses.
[Itching/Pain after Scab Fall] Ma Chi Xian juice 1 bowl, Bing Tang (Rock Sugar) 1 liang, Zhu Zhi You 3 qian, Lu Dou (Mung Bean), Chi Xiao Dou (Red Bean) powder each 5 qian. Simmer juice and bean powder into paste, add sugar/oil, mix, apply.
[Unstoppable Sweating] Mu Li (Ostreae Concha) powder, Bei Mu (Fritillariae Bulbus) each 5 qian, Jing Mi (Rice) 1 sheng. Mix, pack in silk bag, dust body to stop sweating.
[Diarrhoea During Pustule Stage] Da Kui Li (Large Chestnut), baked in yellow mud from wine jar until cooked. Stops diarrhoea immediately.
