Whenever accumulated qi resides under the right hypochondrium, covering an area as large as an inverted cup, it is a pulmonary accumulation (Fei Ji). The qi rushes upward, obstructing respiration, and this condition is named Xiben (Asthma Accumulation). This originates from the transmission of heart disease to the lungs.
Banxia Tang (Pinellia Decoction): Treats pulmonary accumulation Xiben with coughing.
Ingredients: Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, washed in decoction to remove slipperiness, sliced and dried), Sanggen Baipi (Mori Cortex, roasted and chopped), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, removed seedlings and leaves), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix, removed rhizome head), each 1 liang 5 qian.

Xiben Tang (Xiben Decoction): Treats pulmonary accumulation. Located under the right hypochondrium, large as an inverted cup, persisting for a long time without cure, causing chills and fever, rebellious qi, panting and coughing, developing into lung abscess (Fei Yong).
Ingredients: Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, soaked in hot water seven times), Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus, washed in hot water), Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus, each 2.5 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Preparatum), Sangbaipi (Mori Cortex Preparatum), Tingli (Descurainiae Semen Lepidii et Lepidii Semen, 0.5 liang, stir-fried on paper), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix, rhizome head removed, 1 liang).
Usage: Coarsely crush into powder. Take 4 qian, add 1.5 sheng of water, decoct to 0.8 sheng, strain and take warm at any time.
Zhishi Tang (Aurantium Decoction): Treats pulmonary accumulation Xiben, rebellious qi, chest fullness, coughing and counterflow.
Ingredients: Zhishi (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, pulp removed, bran-roasted), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Binglang (Arecae Semen, chopped), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Preparatum, chopped), Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus, soaked in hot water, dried and stir-fried), Tingli (Descurainiae Semen Lepidii et Lepidii Semen, stir-fried on paper until purple, each 1 liang).

Sangbaipi Tang (Morus Bark Decoction): Treats pulmonary accumulation Xiben, rebellious qi, distension and fullness, coughing, purulent and bloody nasal discharge and sputum.
Ingredients: Sangbaipi (Mori Cortex, chopped), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed, dried, each 1.5 liang), Gui (Cinnamomi Ramulus, coarse bark removed, 1.5 liang), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Preparatum, chopped, 0.5 liang), Chenjupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, soaked in hot water, white pith removed, 1 liang).

Yuanhua Jian Wan (Kadsura Berry Paste Pill): Treats Xiben qi. Mass formation under the right hypochondrium with pain.
Ingredients: Yuanhua (Daphnes Genkwa Flos, 1.5 liang, vinegar-mixed and roasted until dry, ground into powder), Pengsha (Borax, 1 liang, free from stones, finely ground; boiled with 2 jin of rice vinegar together with Yuanhua powder into a paste), Biejia (Trionycis Carapax, 1 liang, vinegar-roasted until yellow, skirt removed).
Usage: Grind into fine powder. Mix with Pengsha paste to form pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 10 pills before meals, washed down with rice drink.
Zaojiao Wan (Gleditsia Pill): Treats pulmonary accumulation Xiben, rebellious qi.
Ingredients: Zaojiao (Gleditsiae Fructus, two stalks, non-borer ones, lard-fat roasted, skin and seeds removed, chopped), Gui (Cinnamomi Ramulus, coarse bark removed), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum), Beimu (Fritillariae Bulbus, heart removed).
Usage: Divide equally, pound and sieve into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 10 pills before meals, washed down with warm water.
Wulingzhi Wan (Trogopterus Dung Pill): Treats pulmonary asthma. Long-standing leading to Xiben.
Ingredients: Wulingzhi (Trogopterori Faeces, 2.5 liang), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix, 0.5 liang), Madangling (Aristolochiae Radix, shell removed, stir-fried, 1 fen), Tingli (Descurainiae Semen Lepidii et Lepidii Semen, 1 fen).

Tuiqi San (Pushing Qi Powder): Treats mass under the right hypochondrium as large as a cup, persisting without cure, causing chills and fever, panting and coughing, developing into lung abscess (Fei Yong).
Ingredients: Zhike (Aurantii Fructus, stir-fried), Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus, each 0.5 liang), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 2 qian), Pianzi Jianghuang (Curcumae Longae Rhizoma, 0.5 liang).
Usage: Grind into fine powder. Take 2 qian, mix with ginger juice and take.
Dazao Wan (Jujube Pill): Treats conditions as described above.
Ingredients: Tingli (Descurainiae Semen Lepidii et Lepidii Semen), Jupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix).
Usage: Divide equally, grind into fine powder. Form pills with jujube pulp, size of tung tree seeds. Take 30 pills, washed down with rice drink.

Ingredients: Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, ginger-processed, 8 qian), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, mustache removed, stir-fried, 1 liang 3 qian), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum, 1.5 qian), Gui (Cinnamomi Ramulus, skin removed, 1 qian), Badoushuang (Crotonis Fructus Frost, 4 fen), Baixiudoukou (Amomi Fructus Rotundus, 1 qian), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed, 1 qian), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 1 qian).

Jiajian Xiben Wan (Modified Xiben Pill) [from Shixiao Fang]: Combined in mid-summer. The accumulation causes illness, chills and fever, panting and coughing, rushing qi, choppy pulse, loss of essence.
Ingredients: Chuan Wutou (Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata, 1 qian), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum, 1.5 qian), Renshen (Ginseng Radix, 2 qian), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, 8 fen), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, stir-fried, 1 liang 3 qian), Ziwan (Asturi Herba, 1 qian), Honghua (Carthami Flos, small amount), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed, 1.5 qian).
