Also known as Shengshu Water (Raw and Cooked Water).
It can promote and harmonize Yin and Yang.
It has miraculous efficacy in treating vomiting and diarrhea caused by Huoluan (Acute Gastroenteritis / Cholera-like syndrome) (Because Yin and Yang are disharmonious and contend with each other, upper vomiting and lower diarrhea occur. The reason why drinking this water often settles Huoluan is that it separates Yin and Yang, making them peaceful. Note: Huoluan has two patterns: Cold and Heat. There are many drugs that can treat this, but they have not been distinguished. In a sudden onset of this disease, if the pulse diagnosis is not yet clear, do not lightly administer formulas that are biased towards heat or cold. I have seen cases where Huoluan patients died immediately after taking Ginger Decoction; only drinking Shengshu Water is the safest. If the pathogenic factor of Huoluan is in the Upper Jiao, it causes vomiting; if in the Lower Jiao, it causes diarrhea; if in the Middle Jiao, both vomiting and diarrhea occur simultaneously. This is Wet Huoluan, which is mild and easy to treat. Another type involves severe cramping pain in the heart and abdomen with inability to vomit or defecate, called Dry Huoluan, commonly known as Intestinal Colic Sha, which leads to rapid death. Ancient prescriptions use salt heated until hot, mixed with Child's Urine for drinking, which is highly appropriate. Do not give grain food; even swallowing Rice Decoction will cause death). Usage: Mix half a cup of boiling water with half a cup of well water and take orally.
Promotes Vomiting.
Taste: Sour and Salty. It promotes the vomiting of Phlegm-Fluids and retained food. Sour and Bitter tastes have the effect of promoting and purging, belonging to the nature of Yin.
Moistens the Lungs.
Taste: Sweet; Nature: Neutral. It stops Xiao Ke (Wasting-Thirst / Diabetes), suitable for decocting herbs that moisten the Lungs. Wine brewed with autumn dew is the clearest and coldest; dew from hundred flowers makes one's complexion beautiful (Frost kills things, dew nourishes things; their natures differ according to the season. Dew can resolve summerheat, so when Bailu (White Dew solar term) arrives, Chushu (End of Heat solar term) follows. Malaria must originate from summerheat, so malaria remedies should be taken after being soaked in dew overnight).
Clears Heat.
Taste: Sweet; Nature: Cold. It treats Shi Xing Wen Yi (Seasonal Epidemics), suitable for decocting medicines for Shang Han (Cold Damage) and Shang Shu (Summerheat Injury). It is also good for smearing on Feizi (Heat Rash).
Clears Heat.
Taste: Sweet; Nature: Cold. It is the essence of Taiyin, and its watery nature resembles Earth. For patients with Shang Han Yang Du Re Shen (Severe Heat from Yang Toxin in Cold Damage) causing coma, placing a piece of ice on Danzhong (CV17, located between the nipples) is effective. It resolves Alcohol Toxicity (Chen Cangqi said: Eating ice in midsummer opposes the climate; the clash of cold and heat instead causes various diseases. Emperor Huizong of Song ate too much ice and suffered from Spleen disease; imperial physicians were ineffective. Yang Jie presented Dali Zhong Wan (Great Li Center Pill). The Emperor said, "I have taken it many times." Yang Jie said, "The cause is eating ice. I request to decoct this medicine using ice to treat the source of the illness," and he was indeed cured).
