大黄䗪虫丸。䗪虫二十枚。（去掉足）大黄二两。研成细末，用蜂蜜调和捣匀。分成四丸。每次取一丸，用一升酒煎煮。温服。治疗产妇腹痛。有干血积滞。
主治。消肿。拔毒治疗一切疔疮、痈疽、发背、乳岩。（取活蟾蜍一枚，绑缚在疮口上。半天后蟾蜍必定昏迷不醒。将其放入水中救活其性命。再换一枚。病情重的，剥下其背部皮肤贴在疮口上。或者剖开其腹部连肚一起趁热贴合在疮口上。有脓的即破溃排出，无脓的即消散。连续使用三四次即可痊愈。）无名肿毒。恶疮。痒疮。癣疮。湿疮。蓐疮（产后疮疡）。月蚀（指耳部或脐部腐烂如月蚀状的疮疡）。耳疮。口疮。脐疮。（均烧成炭存性，用油调敷）五疳（小儿五种疳积病）。八痢（多种痢疾）。温病发斑用笃。（去掉内脏生捣食用，或者捣烂绞汁饮用，或者烧成炭研末服用。）破伤风疮跌扑损伤（生研如泥状，劈开竹子包裹缚住患处）。
蟾蜍旧时捕捉方法不易。现在都在养蟾蜍的坛中饲养。坛口盖上玻璃。上面放置毛虫，蟾蜍见到虫子就会喷出酥液粘在玻璃上。刮下来备用。既不伤害生命，所得又多。主治疔疮走黄（疔疮毒邪扩散入血引起的危重证候）。（和面做成梧桐子大小的丸药。每次取一丸放在舌上即能解毒出毒。）其余功效同蟾蜍。
蟾灰散。大干虾蟆一枚。烧至存性。五倍子一钱。麝香少许。研成细末。蜜水调涂。治疗走马牙疳（一种发病迅速、腐蚀严重的口腔疾病）。
五疳保童丸。大干虾蟆一枚。烧至存性。皂角（去皮弦烧至存性）一钱。蛤粉（水飞法处理）三钱。麝香一钱。研成细末，用糊剂做成粟米大小的丸药。空腹时用米汤送下三四十丸。每日两次服用。治疗小儿面色萎黄肌肉消瘦。喜欢食用泥土。
蟾酥丸。蟾酥轻粉各一钱。川乌莲花蕊朱砂各一钱五分。乳香没药各二钱。麝香五分。研成细末，用米糊做成豌豆大小的丸药。每次服用一丸。病情重的服用两丸。用葱白包裹，热酒送下。取汗。治疗疔黄一切恶疮。
飞龙丹。蟾酥（用酒化开）雄黄各二钱。轻粉铜绿枯矾寒水石胆矾乳香没药麝香各一钱。朱砂三钱。蜗牛二十一个。先将蜗牛研烂。同蟾酥混合均匀。再放入各药末混合做成绿豆大小的丸药。每次服用三丸。取五寸长的葱白先嚼烂包裹丸药，裹入葱泥内。用无灰热酒一茶钟送下。盖被子取汗。治疗疔肿初起。以及诸种恶疮。也兼作外用。化腐消肿。

Indications. Breaks down masses and accumulations (abdominal lumps). Attacks blood stasis. Promotes menstruation. Heals fractures.
Chong San (Ground Bug Powder). Tubifex worm (Tubifex tubifex), dried by baking in a pan with paper interposed, 6 qian. Natural copper (Cuprum Metallicum Praeparatum), calcined seven times with vinegar, 2 liang. Pulverized into fine powder. Take 2 qian each time, mixed with warm wine. Treats traumatic injuries from falls and blows. The bone-setting effect is miraculous. For lesions in the upper body, take after meals; for lesions in the lower body, take before meals.
Dahuang Zhechong Wan (Rhubarb and Ground Bug Pill). Twenty Zhechong (Ground Bug) (remove feet). Rhubarb (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei), 2 liang. Pulverized into fine powder, mixed with honey and pounded into dough. Divided into four pills. Each pill is decocted with one sheng of wine. Taken warm. Treats postpartum abdominal pain due to dry blood accumulation and stagnation.
Indications. Reduces swelling. Draws out toxins. Cures all types of ding sores (hard, deep-rooted abscesses), yong sores (carbuncles), faback (back carbuncles), and ru yan (breast cancer-like tumors). (Take one live toad, bind it to the sore. After half a day, the toad will become unconscious. Place it in water to revive it. Replace with another toad. For severe cases, peel off its back skin and apply to the sore, or split its belly and apply the warm flesh directly to the sore. If there is pus, it will penetrate; if no pus, it will dissipate. Continuous use for three or four times leads to cure.) Indicated for unnamed swellings and toxic sores, malignant ulcers, pruritic sores, tinea sores, damp sores, postpartum sores, ear erosion (ulcers resembling moon eclipse on ear or umbilicus), ear sores, mouth sores, and umbilical sores. (All are calcined to carbonization, ground, and applied with oil.) Indicated for five kinds of gan syndrome (pediatric malnutrition syndromes), eight kinds of dysentery, and macules appearing in warm diseases. (Remove internal organs, pound fresh for oral consumption, or squeeze juice for drinking, or calcine to carbonization and take as powder.) Indicated for tetanus wounds and traumatic injuries. (Pound fresh into mud, wrap around the injured part using split bamboo.)
Toads were difficult to catch in old times. Now they are bred in jars. The jar mouth is covered with glass. Hairworms are placed on top; when toads see the worms, they spray venom onto the glass. Scrape it off for use. This method does not harm life and yields more product. Indicated for ding sores with spreading toxin (severe systemic infection from ding sores). (Mix with flour to make pills the size of guava seeds. Place one pill on the tongue at a time to detoxify.) Other effects are the same as those of the whole toad.
Chan Hui San (Toad Ash Powder). One large dried toad, calcined to retain efficacy. Chinese gallnut (Galla Chinensis), 1 qian. Musk (Moschus), a small amount. Pulverized into fine powder. Mixed with honey water and applied topically. Treats gangrenous stomatitis (rapidly progressing severe oral ulceration).
Wugan Baotong Wan (Five Gan Protecting Infant Pill). One large dried toad, calcined to retain efficacy. Gleditsia sinensis pod (Gleditsiae Fructus), dehusked and string removed, calcined to retain efficacy, 1 qian. Arca shell powder (Concha Arcae), processed by levigation, 3 qian. Musk (Moschus), 1 qian. Pulverized into fine powder, made into pills the size of millet grains using paste. Take 30-40 pills on an empty stomach with rice water. Twice daily. Treats children with sallow complexion and emaciation, who crave eating dirt.
Chan Su Wan (Toad Venom Pill). Toad venom (Venenum Bufonis) and Calomelas (Hydrargyri Chloridum Mite), each 1 qian. Aconitum carmichaelii root (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata) and Anemones raddeanae rhizome (Rhizoma Anemones Raddeanae), Cinnabar (Cinnabaris), each 1.5 qian. Frankincense (Olibanum) and Myrrh (Myrrha), each 2 qian. Musk (Moschus), 0.5 qian. Pulverized into fine powder, made into pills the size of pea seeds using rice paste. Take one pill each time. For severe cases, take two pills. Wrap in scallion white, send down with hot wine. Induce sweating. Treats ding yellow and all malignant sores.
Feilong Dan (Flying Dragon Elixir). Toad venom (Venenum Bufonis, dissolved in wine) and Realgar (Realgar), each 2 qian. Calomelas (Hydrargyri Chloridum Mite), Malachite (Malachitum), Alum (Alumen), Halloysitum Rubrum (Halloysitum Rubrum), Blue Vitriol (Vitriolum Caeruleum), Frankincense (Olibanum), Myrrh (Myrrha), and Musk (Moschus), each 1 qian. Cinnabar (Cinnabaris), 3 qian. Snails (Helix Aspersa/Metaphema), 21 pieces. First, pound snails into a paste. Mix evenly with toad venom. Then add all other powdered medicines and mix to form pills the size of mung beans. Take three pills each time. Chew five inches of scallion white thoroughly, wrap the pill in the scallion pulp. Send down with one teacup of non-intoxicating hot wine. Cover with blankets to induce sweating. Treats early-stage ding swellings and various malignant sores. Also used externally to resolve putrefaction and reduce swelling.
Chan Su Bing (Toad Venom Cake). Toad venom (Venenum Bufonis, dissolved in wine), Frankincense (Olibanum) and Myrrh (Myrrha) (both defatted), Realgar (Realgar), and Croton seed frost (Semen Crotonis Preparatum), each 2 qian. Borneolum Syntheticum (Borneolum Syntheticum), Cinnabar (Cinnabaris), each 1 qian. Calomelas (Hydrargyri Chloridum Mite), 0.5 qian. Musk (Moschus), 0.3 fen. Pulverized into fine powder. Mix with toad venom and wine to form pills the size of mung beans. Each time, mix with saliva for topical application. Cover with a plaster. Treats ding sores, brain carbuncles, breast abscesses, osteomyelitis, gluteal abscesses, and all malignant conditions. Whether painful and swollen, painless, or numb.
