生姜退黄法 生姜捣烂，周身擦之即退。
又茵陈羹 茵陈煮食，生食亦可。并治黄。
黄宾江方 治发黄目不识人。生葱煨熟，去粗皮，用心扭汁，蘸香油点二目大小 。
刘尚书方 治湿热发黄，昏闷不省，死在须臾。白毛乌骨鸡一只，干 去毛，破开，去肠杂，
捣，铺心头，少倾即活。
治发黄法 用麻油半盅，水半盅，蛋清一枚，搅和服。
吹鼻法 瘟疫三日外，心腹胀满坚硬，手心热，遍身发黄。苦瓜蒂七个，末。以少许吹两鼻，
令黄水出，余末水调服。
蒌汁硝蜜饮 治发黄，心狂，烦热。
大栝蒌（一个，黄的）
新汲水淘浸取汁，入蜜半合，朴硝八分，和令匀，待硝化尽，服之。
竹麦饮 治黄。
竹叶 小麦 石膏（分两临时酌定）
水煎细服，尽剂。
又方 醋浸鸡子数枚，一宿，去壳，吞其清。
又方 发 烧研，水服日三。
（凡狂热不可掩闭床帐，务揭开放入爽气。病患如觉恶风，则不必矣。）
三白饮 治热极狂乱及热不退。
鸡子清（一枚） 白蜜（一大匙，生者更良） 芒硝（酌用）
共和一处，再用凉水和服。如心不宁，加珍珠末五分。
靛青饮 治天行瘟疫，时气热毒，烦躁狂言。尚未至发狂之甚者，亦皆可服。
靛青（一大匙）
以新汲井水和服。
独参丸 治发狂不避水火。
苦参（不拘多少）
为末，蜜丸梧子大，薄荷汤下二钱。水亦可。
治狂走，鸡子壳（出过小鸡者。）泡滚水服，
即安。
浑圆丸 治舌黄，烦躁，狂言，发热。生鸡子吞一二枚。
又方 蚯蚓，治瘟病大热狂言。蚓粪，新汲水和服亦妙。
鹊石散 治发狂，逾墙上屋。
黄连 寒水石
等分为末。每服二钱，浓煎甘草汤，候冷调服。
铁胆饮 阳毒在脏，谵妄狂走。
铁粉（一两） 胆草（五钱）
共末，磨刀水调服二钱，小儿五分。
元砂丹 治发狂。
元明粉（二钱） 朱砂（一钱）
共末，冷水服。
又方 胆草（末，二钱） 鸡子清（一个） 白蜜（一匙）
凉水化服。
黄雪膏 大黄不拘多少，炒黄为末。雪水熬如膏，冷水和服。亦治发黄。
又方 狂走见鬼。蚯蚓数条，去净泥，人尿煮汁饮，或生绞汁亦可。
又方 治狂走。瓜蒂末，井水服一钱，取吐即愈。
又方 人粪入罐内，泥封， 半日，盖地下，出火毒，研，新汲水服二三钱。未退再服。
又方 大热狂渴。干陈人粪为末，于阴地净黄土中作小坑，将粪末入坑中，新汲水和匀，良
久澄清，细细与饮即解。
醋治狂法 阴狂阳狂皆治。（瘟疫无阴狂。）于病患室中，生旺火一盆，将好醋一大碗，倾
于火上，病患闻之即安。兼燥渴者，入硝半斤于冷水内，用青布一块，浸硝水中，取出搭胸上，布
热再浸换，如得睡，汗出即愈。（一法用镜按身上，亦得。）如兼舌出不收，将麻黄水洗净舌，
用冰片、牛黄、麝香研末，点舌即收。（或止用冰片亦可。）
黄宾江方：用于治疗面目发黄、视物不清甚至不识人的症状。将生葱煨熟，去掉粗皮，取中间部分拧出汁液，蘸取香油滴入双眼。
刘尚书方：用于治疗湿热引起的黄疸，患者神志昏沉闷乱、不省人事，生命垂危在顷刻之间。取一只白毛乌骨鸡，去净羽毛，剖开，去除内脏和杂物，捣碎后敷在心口部位，片刻之后患者即可苏醒。
吹鼻法：瘟疫发病三天以后，出现心腹胀满坚硬、手心发热、全身发黄的症状。取七个苦瓜蒂，研成粉末。取少量药粉吹入两个鼻孔，使黄色液体流出，剩余的粉末用水调匀后内服。
蒌汁硝蜜饮：用于治疗黄疸、心中狂乱、烦热。
大栝蒌（一个，黄色的）
用新打的井水淘洗浸泡取汁，加入半合蜂蜜、八分朴硝，混合均匀，待朴硝完全溶解后服用。
竹麦饮：用于治疗黄疸。
竹叶、小麦、石膏（分量根据情况临时决定）

又一方：用醋浸泡鸡蛋数枚，过夜后，去掉蛋壳，吞服蛋清。

（凡是出现极度狂热症状的患者，不可遮挡封闭床帐，务必揭开让清爽的空气进入。如果病人觉得怕风，则不必如此。）
三白饮：用于治疗热极导致的狂乱以及高热不退。
鸡蛋清（一枚）、白蜜（一大匙，新鲜的更好）、芒硝（酌情使用）
混合在一起，再用凉水调和服用。如果心神不宁，加入五分珍珠末。
靛青饮：用于治疗时行瘟疫、时气热毒引起的烦躁、胡言乱语。尚未发展到严重发狂程度的，也都可以服用。
靛青（一大匙）
用新打的井水调和服用。
独参丸：用于治疗发狂、不避水火（指行为失控，不顾危险）。
苦参（不限数量）
研成粉末，用蜂蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸药，用薄荷汤送服二钱，用水送服也可以。
治疗狂躁奔走：将孵化过小鸡的鸡蛋壳，用滚水泡开后服用，即可安定。
浑圆丸：用于治疗舌苔发黄、烦躁、胡言乱语、发热。生吞鸡蛋一二枚。
又一方：蚯蚓，用于治疗瘟病引起的高热、胡言乱语。蚯蚓粪，用新打的井水调和服用也很好。
鹊石散：用于治疗发狂、爬墙跳屋（指精神错乱、动作异常）。
黄连、寒水石
等量研成粉末。每次服用二钱，用浓煎的甘草汤，冷却后调匀服用。
铁胆饮：用于治疗阳毒在脏，出现谵妄、狂躁奔走。
铁粉（一两）、胆草（五钱）
共同研成粉末，用磨刀的水调和服用二钱，小儿服用五分。
元砂丹：用于治疗发狂。
元明粉（二钱）、朱砂（一钱）
共同研成粉末，用冷水送服。
又一方：胆草（粉末，二钱）、鸡蛋清（一个）、白蜜（一匙）
用凉水化开服用。

又一方：治疗狂躁奔走、看见鬼怪。取几条蚯蚓，洗净泥土，用人尿煮汁饮用，或者生绞汁也可以。
又一方：治疗狂躁奔走。瓜蒂粉末，用井水送服一钱，催吐后即可痊愈。
又一方：将人粪装入罐内，用泥封口，放置半天，盖在地下以去除火毒，取出研细，用新打的井水送服二三钱。病情未退可再服。
又一方：治疗大热、狂躁、口渴。将干陈的人粪研成粉末，在阴凉处的干净黄土中挖一个小坑，将粪末放入坑中，用新打的井水调和均匀，静置良久使其澄清，细细喂服即可缓解。
醋治狂法：阴狂和阳狂都能治疗。（瘟疫中没有阴狂。）在病人房间里，生一盆旺火，将一大碗好醋倒在火上，病人闻到醋味即能安定。兼有燥渴症状的，在半斤硝石放入冷水中，用一块青布浸透硝水，取出搭在胸口上，布变热后再浸入换下，如果能睡着并出汗，即可痊愈。（另一种方法是用镜子在身上按压，也可以。）如果兼有舌头伸出不能收回的症状，用麻黄水洗净舌头，用冰片、牛黄、麝香研成粉末，点涂在舌头上即可收回。（或者只用冰片也可以。）
**Method of Ginger for Resolving Jaundice:** Mash fresh ginger into a paste and rub it all over the body to resolve jaundice.
**Yinchen Soup:** Boil and eat *Artemisiae Scopariae Herba* (Yinchen, 茵陈); raw consumption is also acceptable. Both methods treat jaundice.
**Formula of Huang Binjiang:** Treats yellowing of the skin and eyes with inability to recognize people. Roast raw green onion (*Allii Fistulosi Bulbus*) until cooked, remove the coarse outer skin, extract juice from the inner part by twisting, dip in sesame oil, and apply drops to both eyes.
**Formula of Vice-Administrator Liu:** Treats damp-heat jaundice characterized by mental confusion, lethargy, loss of consciousness, and imminent death. Take one white-feathered black-bone chicken, remove feathers, cut open, remove viscera and impurities, mash the meat, and apply it to the heart region. The patient will revive shortly.
**Method for Treating Jaundice:** Mix half a cup of sesame oil (*Sesami Oleum*), half a cup of water, and one egg white. Stir well and ingest.
**Nasal Insufflation Method:** For plague occurring after three days, presenting with abdominal distension and hardness, heat in the palms, and generalized jaundice. Take seven dried calyxes of bitter melon (*Momordicae Fructus Calyx*), powder them. Insufflate a small amount into both nostrils to induce the discharge of yellow fluid. Mix the remaining powder with water and ingest.
**Trichosanthis Juice, Niter, and Honey Drink:** Treats jaundice, mental mania, and irritability with fever.
Large *Trichosanthis Fructus* (one, yellow variety): Soak and wash with freshly drawn well water to extract juice. Add half a *he* (unit of volume) of honey and eight *fen* (unit of weight) of *Mirabilite* (Puxiao, 朴硝). Mix evenly until the niter dissolves completely, then ingest.
**Bamboo Leaf and Wheat Drink:** Treats jaundice.
*Bamboo Leaves* (Zhuye, 竹叶), *Wheat* (Xiaomai, 小麦), *Gypsum Fibrosum* (Shigao, 石膏 - dosage adjusted according to condition).
Decoct in water and ingest slowly. Finish one dose.
**Another Formula:** Soak several eggs in vinegar overnight. Remove shells and swallow the egg white.
**Another Formula:** Burn hair to ash, take with water, three times daily.
(Note: In cases of extreme mania, do not cover or close the bed curtains; ensure fresh air enters. If the patient feels aversion to wind, this measure is unnecessary.)
**Sanbai Drink (Three Whites Drink):** Treats extreme heat-induced mania and persistent high fever.
Egg white (one), White honey (one large tablespoon, fresh is better), *Mirabilite* (Mangxiao, 芒硝 - use as appropriate).
Mix together, dilute with cold water, and ingest. If there is mental restlessness, add five *fen* of powdered Pearl (Zhenzhu, 珍珠).
**Indigo Drink:** Treats epidemic plague and seasonal heat-toxin causing irritability and delirious speech. It can be taken even before severe mania develops.
Indigo naturalis (Daqingye/Indigo, 靛青 - one large tablespoon).
Take with freshly drawn well water.
**Dushen Pill (Single Ginseng Pill):** Treats mania where the patient does not avoid fire or water (reckless behavior).
*Sophorae Flavescentis Radix* (Kushen, 苦参 - any quantity).
Powder it, form pills the size of wutong seeds using honey. Take two *qian* with mint decoction; water may also be used.
**For Treating Manic Running:** Soak eggshells from hatched chicks in boiling water and ingest. This brings immediate calm.
**Hunyuan Pill:** Treats yellow tongue coating, irritability, delirious speech, and fever. Swallow one or two raw eggs whole.
**Another Formula:** Earthworms (*Pheretima*, 蚯蚓) treat high fever and delirium caused by plague. Earthworm feces mixed with freshly drawn well water are also effective.
**Que Shi San (Magpie Stone Powder):** Treats mania involving climbing walls or roofs.
*Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huanglian, 黄连), *Lapis Conglomeratus Aquae Frigidae* (Hanshui Shi, 寒水石).
Grind equal parts into powder. Take two *qian* per dose, mixed with thick decoction of Licorice Root (*Gancao*, 甘草), cooled before ingestion.
**Tie Dan Yin (Iron Gall Drink):** Treats yang toxicity in the zang organs, manifesting as delirium and manic running.
Iron powder (one liang), *Scutellariae Radix* (Dancao, 胆草 - five qian).
Grind into powder, mix with water used for sharpening knives, take two *qian* (five *fen* for children).
**Yuansha Dan:** Treats mania.
*Mirabilite* (Yuanming Fen, 元明粉 - two qian), *Cinnabar* (Zhusha, 朱砂 - one qian).
Grind into powder, take with cold water.
**Another Formula:** *Scutellariae Radix* powder (two qian), egg white (one), white honey (one spoon). Dissolve in cold water and ingest.
**Huangxue Gao (Yellow Snow Ointment/Paste):** *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Dahuang, 大黄 - any quantity), stir-fried until yellow and powdered. Simmer with snow water to form a paste. Take with cold water. Also treats jaundice.
**Another Formula:** For manic running and seeing ghosts. Take several earthworms, clean thoroughly, boil in human urine to extract juice for drinking, or crush raw to extract juice.
**Another Formula:** For manic running. Powdered Melon Peduncle (*Gua Di*, 瓜蒂), take one *qian* with well water to induce vomiting, which leads to recovery.
**Another Formula:** Place human feces in a jar, seal with mud, leave for half a day, bury underground to eliminate "fire toxin." Grind fine, take two to three *qian* with freshly drawn well water. Repeat if symptoms persist.
**Another Formula:** For extreme heat, manic behavior, and thirst. Powder dry, aged human feces. Dig a small pit in clean yellow soil in a shady place. Put the feces powder in the pit, mix with freshly drawn well water, let settle for a long time until clear. Sip slowly to relieve symptoms.
**Vinegar Method for Treating Mania:** Treats both yin-manic and yang-manic states. (Note: Plague does not present as yin-manic.) Build a strong fire in the patient's room. Pour a large bowl of good vinegar onto the fire. The patient inhaling the vinegar vapor will calm down. For those with dryness and thirst, dissolve half a jin of niter in cold water. Soak a piece of blue cloth in the niter water, wring out slightly, and apply to the chest. Replace when hot. If the patient sleeps and sweats, they will recover. (Alternative method: Press a mirror against the body.) If accompanied by protruding tongue that cannot retract, wash the tongue with Ephedra (*Mahuang*, 麻黄) decoction. Apply powder of Borneol (*Bingpian*, 冰片), Calculus Bovis (*Niuhuang*, 牛黄), and Moschus (*Shexiang*, 麝香) to the tongue to retract it. (Using only Borneol is also acceptable.)
