When affected by cold, the body's qi mechanism should be flexible like a door pivot; if daily activities are disturbed by sudden fright, the spirit and qi will float upward.
When affected by summer-heat, sweating occurs; when restless, there is panting with loud breathing; when quiet, there is excessive talking. The body feels as hot as burning charcoal, and the condition resolves through sweating.
When affected by dampness, the head feels heavy as if wrapped in cloth. If damp-heat is not dispelled, the large tendons become soft and short, while the small tendons become lax and long. Shortened tendons lead to spasms (ju), and lax tendons lead to flaccidity (wei).
When affected by qi stagnation, swelling occurs. (etc.)

The classics state: "The stomach and intestines are like a market." Because they contain everything, and grains are the most abundant, it is called "cang" (granary), similar to a room for storing grain. "Dao" (inverting) means pouring out old accumulations and washing them clean, making them pure.
The stomach resides in the middle jiao and belongs to Earth; it enjoys receiving food but cannot transport it on its own. When people eat, encountering delicious food, is it not possible to overeat and cause accumulation injury? With the bias of the seven emotions and the richness of the five flavors, is it not possible to damage the virtue of harmony? Residues of chaff and waste, stagnant phlegm and blood stasis, entangle each other, accumulating day by day and month by month, becoming depressed and forming masses. In severe cases, they resemble walnut kernels or various strange-shaped parasites, causing the central palace (spleen and stomach) to be unclear and the virtue of Earth to be disharmonious. Internal conditions manifest externally, developing into paralysis, lao zhai (consumptive disease), gu zhang (abdominal distension resembling drum), lai ji (leprous diseases), and nameless strange diseases. Ancient sages formulated medicines such as Wan Bing Wan and Wen Bai Wan, combining attack and tonification, using both cold and heat properties, aiming to fit the disease condition. While ingenious, they are not as convenient as the Dao Cang method. Select a yellow ox, buy one or twenty jin of fat meat, boil it in flowing water until it disintegrates, dissolve it into liquid, filter out the dregs with cloth, take the clear juice, put it back in the pot, and simmer over low fire until it turns amber-colored. It is then ready. Drink one zhong (measure) at a time, drink again after a short while, accumulating dozens of zhongs. In cold months, warm it in a double boiler before drinking. For diseases in the upper part, induce more vomiting; for diseases in the lower part, induce more diarrhea; for diseases in the middle, induce both vomiting and diarrhea. This relies entirely on flexible application, adjusting speed and quantity according to the situation. First, prepare a bright, spacious room that is isolated from outsiders to house the patient. Observe the expelled matter; stop when the root of the disease is exhausted. After vomiting and purging, if thirsty, do not give soup; urine will increase significantly. Collect this urine and give it to the patient, named "Lun Hui Jiu" (Wheel-turning Wine). Give one or two bowls; it not only quenches thirst but also washes away residual filth. Sleep for one or two days; when feeling very hungry, give light porridge. Wait three days, then give a little vegetable soup for self-nourishment. After half a month, feel refreshed and energetic, with a light and healthy body, and chronic illnesses completely healed. Thereafter, avoid beef for five years. My teacher, Xu Wenyi, initially suffered from heart pain. He used dry, hot, aromatic, and pungent medicines such as Ding Xiang (Clove), Fu Zi (Aconite Root), Gui Zhi (Cinnamon Twig), and Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger) for decades, resulting in severe leg cramps and pain, aversion to cold, and frequent vomiting. He even used Ling Sha (Spirit Cinnabar), Hei Xi (Black Tin), Huang Ya (Yellow Sprout), and Sui Dan (Year Pill), followed by over 100,000 moxibustion applications. After years of mixed treatments, the pain worsened, and he considered himself disabled. Doctors were at their wit's end. For another few years, due to one month of irritability, thirst, and anorexia, I gave him Tong Sheng San for over half a month. This caused severe tenesmus, burning heat in the anus, and the passage of accumulated debris resembling colorful rotten brocade or solidified candle oil. After nearly half a month, the illness seemed to recede; after another half a month, he slightly desired grain, but his legs were difficult to move, and no solution was found. In March of the following year, this method was employed. Each step corresponded perfectly, and he recovered fully. The next year, he had a son, and died of old age fourteen years later. Another woman treated with this medicine, who had suffered from Hong Kong Foot (podagra/tinea pedis) for many years, was relieved through vomiting and purging.
Xiao Boshan, Marquis of Zhenhai, suffered from turbid urine and seminal emission. He tried this method personally with effective results. Lin, a brother from Linhai, suffered from chronic cough with hemoptysis, fever, and emaciation. Others diagnosed it as lao zhai, but hundred remedies failed. I examined him; the pulse was wiry and rapid in both hands, lighter by day and heavier by night. No other solution existed, so this method was used, and he recovered. It was winter then; he had a son the following year.
Oxen belong to Kun Earth. Yellow is the color of Earth. Their virtue is submission, yet they emulate the strength of Heaven. The efficacy comes from the use of male oxen. Meat is what the stomach delights in. Cooked into liquid, it becomes formless. It spreads horizontally into muscle collaterals, penetrating from the stomach and intestines to the skin, hair follicles, and nails, entering everywhere. Accumulations over time form physical structures, attaching to the folds and curves of the stomach and intestines, becoming nests that obstruct fluids, qi, and blood, steaming and burning to cause disease. Unless one has the divine skill of cutting open intestines and scraping bones, who can remove them? How could pills or powders measured in he and zhu (tiny units) penetrate their walls and windows?
Carefully observing the dispersion of meat liquid, the stomach and intestines receive it, and its concentration doubles. It appears swollen. The folds and curves are no longer as before. The meat liquid fills and flows like a flood rising. Floating decay and old matter are pushed and washed downstream, unable to stay. Surface issues resolve through vomiting-induced sweating; clear pathways resolve through vomiting-induced expulsion; turbid pathways resolve through diarrhea. All obstructions are cleared in one wash. Beef possesses strong, thick, mild, and compliant nature. It is abundant and dissipating, moistening withered parts, tonifying deficiencies. Is there not joy in spiritual refreshment? It is just like King Wu distributing wealth and grain after conquering Shang to relieve the longing of the Yin people. This prescription originated from a foreigner from the Western Regions. People may undergo this procedure once or twice after middle age, which is also an aid to dispelling disease and nurturing longevity.
