Yangdu Shen (Sheep Stomach Root), with bitter and pungent tastes and slightly warm nature. Non-toxic. Its action targets the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian. It nourishes blood, tonifies the liver, strengthens muscles and bones, and unblocks meridians to activate collaterals. It treats flaccidity of hands and feet, hemiplegia, wandering phlegm, and blood bi syndrome. (Bi syndrome is formed by the combination of wind, cold, and dampness; numbness due to blood deficiency also constitutes bi.) It treats musculoskeletal pain and dampness migrating through joints.
