吹患处。亦妙。泡舌像如猪脬形。痰随火上犯心经。不疼不痛妨言语。满口流涎食不成。
舌下青筋宜刺破。流出痰如鸡蛋清。秘合冰硼吹患处。服药增加用二陈。

气单郁结原由起。舌根横紫起青筋。吹本大针针七次。每针品字各三针。外边喉下横三灸。
凉膈三黄并二陈。以上共针四十九。调理须知要养神。

这种病症源于心经的毒邪，少腹的风邪侵袭，病发于听会穴末端，流注到会膺穴侧面。病变处丛生如粟米状颗粒，导致闭塞不通，无法进食。伴有红肿发热，逐渐化脓溃烂，患处柔软且胀痛。此症初起时，使用连翘当归散；病程日久，使用千金内托散；局部吹入秘制药物以生肌；外贴白膏。若外部腐烂、内部溃破，脓液随水孔流出者，曾治疗数人亦有效。
连翘当归散
药材：当归、生地、连翘、前胡、甘草、枳壳、桔梗、黄芩、粘子（牛蒡子）、白芍、元参（玄参）、花粉（天花粉）。
引药：灯心草。
初起时外用：蜒蚰（蜗牛）片加麝香，捣烂后敷于患处，效果奇妙。
锁喉风症歌诀：
心经毒邪与少腹火气及邪风相搏，病发于听会穴，初起如粟米状，咽喉闭塞气息难通。应当服用连翘散，脓成后用内托散收功。秘制药物吹于患处，初起时用麝香和蜗牛敷贴即可缓解。
喉肿图
此症起于脾经，因食用煎炒油炽等燥热食物，以及饮酒过度而行房事，导致毒邪不能正常流通，聚结于喉根。若不迅速治疗，毒邪闭阻可致死亡。治疗时先探吐痰涎，然后吹入秘制药物，服用八正顺气汤。
喉肿歌诀：
喉肿由脾家湿热生成，多因醉酒后行房所致。气机不流通结于喉下，先探出痰涎，含服秘制药物。煎服八正顺气汤，可保患者安宁。
骨槽风图
此症因忧愁多虑，太阳经受邪，病邪结于大肠之间，邪毒交织，蕴积于经络之内。或因郁怒伤肝，导致筋骨紧急；思虑伤脾，导致肌肉结肿；过食膏粱厚味，酿生脓秽。小儿患此症，乃因禀赋虚弱，感受暑风湿热，加之食用肥甘厚味，病发于耳前或耳下，腮部肿胀连及颈部，隐隐作痛，痛彻筋骨，略有小核，如李子大小，红肿，寒热往来如疟疾，或上或下，或左或右，牙关紧急。初生时坚硬不消，久则疮口难愈。先探除风痰，初起宜艾灸肿项及耳下五分处，各灸七壮，用膏药贴敷以泄内毒。使用金箍散加追风散，敷于外肿处及牙关肿处，吹入本方追风散，刀刺出血，吹入秘制药物，服用清阳散火汤。溃后服用千金内托散加五味子、麦冬，或中和汤，吹入秘制药物，合用生肌散，使水升木降，脾健金清则痊愈。若外部腐烂不合，虚热不退，坚硬不消，形体消瘦者死。
清阳散火汤：治疗牙根尽处结肿，连及耳项作痛。
药材：升麻（四分）、白芷（七分）、黄芩、当归、粘子（牛蒡子）、连翘、防风、荆芥（各一钱四分）、甘草（四分）、石膏（三钱）、白蒺藜（一钱）。
用法：水煎，食后服。
骨槽风歌诀：
骨槽风起于太阳经，皆因郁怒导致筋伤。思虑伤脾肌肉结聚，耳下牙关急痛而生。垂下五分处针七壮，吹用追风散亦可用针。初宜用清阳散火汤，中和汤与内托散价值千金。
死舌痈图
此症因久积热毒于心而起，舌体肿胀色白，如同木舌相似。但木舌较小且硬，此症肿胀而白。治疗者用刀刮去白皮，用追风散加冰片、麝香、青皮、干姜末，手指沾水蘸擦舌上即愈。肿胀严重时刺金津、玉液穴出血，吹入秘制药物，服用学士汤，含服口水药，时常吹入本秘制药物。日久脓成，左右挑破放出舌下黑血。若刺治后颜色不变，舌卷缩不能言语，并舌体僵硬者死。
死舌痈歌诀：
死舌痈生起如同木舌，其形白色肿胀多疼痛。刮去白苔须洗净，追风散加冰片、麝香、干姜、青皮。玉液、金津穴宜放血，吹入秘制药物并将药水含漱。瀛洲学士汤宜服用，若舌卷黑色则命无存。
莲花钿舌图

珍珠毒图
此症为小儿饮用甘甜热物，或母亲喜好饮用，或胎中受热而生。舌上如珠，先呈赤紫色，后变白黄色，疼痛难忍。大者吹入本方，针刺出血，次吹入秘制药物，少加冰片。小者直接吹入秘制药物，服用三黄凉膈散，或化毒丹。如不能饮者，令母亲服用，将秘制药物搽于乳头上，令小儿吞之。舌珠同法。
珍珠毒歌诀：
舌上生起珍珠毒，皆由火毒犯心经。红黄赤白多疼痛，小刀去血秘药灵。三黄凉膈除心火，化毒丹丸孩子吞。
螓舌图
此症因心膈蕴积热毒而生于舌。老者难医，少者尤可。若有孔，则为全症。或有一二孔，其中流血，或在左右，有黑心。大者用药烂去黑心，小者用针挑去，用水药洗净，吹入本方，服用三黄凉膈二三剂。如不收口，用生肌散拌匀使用。

此症因火上冲，痰随火上注，舌忽胀满口中，软如猪尿泡形，不疼痛，口中流涎，妨言语。治疗者看舌下有青泡如蟹眼，吹入本秘，挑破捺净其痰，以温汤漱净吹入秘制药物，加冰硼元明粉，服用加味二陈汤，加牛蒡、连翘、木通、花粉。一人舌忽肿胀退场门，痛如针刺。遇一游僧，云是蜈蚣毒沿碗上，人食染毒。用雄鸡血一盏浸舌，搽玉枢丹，亦可服。如无，雄黄、朱砂、冰片研极细末，吹患处，亦妙。
泡舌歌诀：
泡舌像如猪脬形，痰随火上犯心经。不疼不痛妨言语，满口流涎食不成。舌下青筋宜刺破，流出痰如鸡蛋清。秘合冰硼吹患处，服药增加用二陈。
连珠喉风图
此症因心经火毒上冲，而生于舌下。其形如珠，初见一二，少顷蔓生盛，三五七八九如贯珠。舌胀痰升，不能饮食。治疗者探去风痰，吹入本药于患上，逐粒去血，兼刺玉液金津，吹入秘制药物，服用黄连泻心汤。
连珠喉风歌诀：
连珠风起似连珠，心火冲生舌下瘀。蔓生三五七八九，舌胀痰生探吐愈。吹本用刀须刺破，玉液金津血亦祛。黄连泻心汤内服，如斯治法外无余。
气单图
此症受湿热七情所伤郁气而起。靠舌根横起紫红色筋。治疗者吹入本方于筋上，用一大针，将桐油蘸，烧红，照图式上根据横筋针七处。次将三小针，扎品字样，每大针孔，各针二次，共成四十九针。如舌根肿，灸外边喉下横三穴，口内烟出乃止。如不出烟，七壮为止。服用凉膈散，或甘桔汤数剂，吹入秘制药物自愈。
气单歌诀：
气单郁结原由起，舌根横紫起青筋。吹本大针针七次，每针品字各三针。外边喉下横三灸，凉膈三黄并二陈。以上共针四十九，调理须知要养神。
悬疔图
此症受风热，或食煎炒浓味，或重衣叠被，或思虑过度，心火上冲蒂疔，卒然紫肿，吞吐不利。治疗者不可用刀针，只吹入秘制药物。或用乌龙尾，和炒盐，用箸头点上，用枕卧一时。甚者服用三黄汤，加木通、桔梗，去川芎。
悬疔歌诀：
悬疔之症由火生，重衣浓味起心经。倏忽蒂中垂下肿，秘吹切忌用刀针。盐水同炒乌龙尾，研吹仰卧片时停。甚者宜服三黄汤，通桔粘子荆防功。
木舌图
此症因心火太盛而起，舌硬如山，憎寒壮热，言语謇涩。内服黄连泻心汤，外吹秘制药物，以刀刺紫肿处去血，再针金津、玉液，出血自愈。又或舌上紫肿，用飞朴（朴硝），加冰片少许搽之，出涎自愈。或吹入冰硼散。
木舌歌诀：
木舌皆由心火盛，舌如木硬紫多疼。壮热憎寒言謇涩，吹秘舌下刺青筋。黄连泻心汤内服，间吹本秘合冰硼。刀刺紫肿去血后，再针玉液与金津。
七星疮图
此症因脾经积热，上属脾。脾气通于喉，故上颚生疮，似粟如珠，或黄或白，口中腥臭，手足怕冷，身体畏寒。治疗者用水药，或苦茶拭净，吹入秘制药物，服用清脾降火汤，戒酒色。
七星疮歌诀：
七星疮生喉上颚，皆由热毒积脾经。似粟如珠黄白色，满口涎流极臭腥。手足畏寒身发热，苦茶拭净吹秘频。降火清脾噙水药，如斯指日可回生。
口疮图
此症因劳碌，乃食火酒炙爆椒姜之物而起。小儿食肥甘，或胎受毒，或母病食热乳而生。或红紫，或黄白，疼痛流涎，难以饮食。甚者发热恶寒，口干便闭。治疗者用米泔或苦茶，青布蘸拭净，出血不妨，吹入秘制药物，服用粘子解毒汤，加栀子或三黄汤。如小儿不能服之，只以犀角化毒丹服。小儿服之如臭，用秘制药物，加人中黄、黄连、冰片、麝香，研极细末，吹之。
口疮歌诀：
口疮积热在心经，满口生疮黄白形。米泔拭净时吹秘，甚宜去血火方平。粘子解毒三黄汤，服之退火与凉心。小儿化毒汤宜服，桑叶汁涂疮自轻。
悬蜞风图
此症上焦蕴积热毒，风痰塞壅而起。上颚肿垂，形如蛙腹，或如鸡子，咽喉闭塞，痰涎满口。治疗者用元明粉醋，探去风痰，吹入本药于肿处，刀刺去血，吹入秘制药物，服用三黄凉膈散。有表症者，服用荆防败毒散。日久服用千金内托散。
悬蜞风歌诀：
悬蜞风毒生上颚，形如蛙腹闭喉咙。探痰须用元明醋，本吹刺血秘相攻。内服三黄凉膈散，表症荆防大有功。有脓千金内托散，顿教患者喜重重。
出汗生痈图
此症受湿热，出汗过多而起。治疗者吹入追风散，刀刺去血，吹入秘制药物加均本。如不肿疼，其内定破，吹入秘制药物。次以均多加冰片、儿茶、硼砂、青黛末，吹之，不用本药。有痰，以元明粉醋探去。有脓，千金内托。不收口，生肌散。
出汗生痈歌诀：
汗出生痈余毒因，追风吹上用刀针。秘均加末时吹上，内服三黄桔梗汤。探痰须用元明醋，脓成须速用千金。出脓疮口多疼痛，生肌吹上实时平。
咂舌痈图
此症受风热酒毒湿痰而起，牙龈里两边生痈，致舌短大，两边未破。吹入本方，针破去血，吹入秘制药物。已破吹入本秘，或擦追风散于舌上，两边臭烂，秘合生肌，加冰麝吹之，水药噙口。起初服用学士汤，或粘子解毒汤。已成，服用千金内托散。有痰，亦须探去。
咂舌痈歌诀：
咂舌痈生舌两边，口中腥臭吐稠涎。未破痈头宜刺破，秘本生肌合共吹。学士神方粘子解，已成内托散神仙。
撮口喉风图
This condition arises from toxic heat in the Heart Meridian and pathogenic wind in the lower abdomen. The disease manifests at the end of the Tinghui point (Auditory Meeting) and flows to the side of the Huiying point (Meeting of Chest). Lesions grow like millet grains, causing blockage and difficulty in swallowing. Symptoms include redness, swelling, fever, gradual suppuration and ulceration, with softness and distending pain. At the initial stage, use Liaoqiao Danggui San (Forsythia and Angelica Powder). For chronic cases, use Qianjin Neituo San (Thousand Gold Internal Support Powder). Apply secret powder for tissue regeneration externally, and apply Bai Gao (White Plaster). If external necrosis and internal ulceration occur, with pus discharging through water-like pores, several cases have been treated successfully.
Liaoqiao Danggui San (Forsythia and Angelica Powder)
Ingredients: Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Sheng Di (Rehmanniae Radix), Liao Qiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Qian Hu (Peucedani Radix), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Nian Zi (Arctii Fructus), Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Yuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix).
Guide herb: Deng Xin Cao (Junci Medulla).
For initial stages, apply Yan You (Helix Aspersa) mixed with She Xiang (Moschus), pounded into a paste and applied topically, which is highly effective.
Song for Suohou Feng (Lock-Throat Wind):
Toxic heat of the Heart Meridian combines with fire qi and pathogenic wind from the lower abdomen, manifesting at Tinghui. Initially resembling millet grains, it causes throat blockage and breathing difficulty. One should take Liaoqiao San; when pus forms, use Neituo San to conclude treatment. Secret powder is blown onto the lesion. Initial application of Moschus and Helix Aspersa provides relief.

This leads to toxic heat stagnation accumulating at the root of the throat. Without prompt treatment, toxic obstruction can be fatal. Treatment involves first inducing vomiting to remove phlegm and saliva, then applying secret powder, and administering Bazheng Shunqi Tang (Eight-Right Qi-Smooth Decoction).
Song for Hou Zhong (Throat Swelling):
Throat swelling arises from damp-heat in the Spleen, often resulting from intercourse after drunkenness. Qi stagnation knots below the throat. First probe out phlegm and saliva, hold secret medicine in the mouth. Decoct and drink Bazheng Shunqi Tang to ensure patient peace.

This condition is caused by excessive worry and anxiety, leading to pathogenic invasion of the Taiyang Meridian, knotting between the Large Intestine and other organs. Pathogenic toxins interact and accumulate within the meridians. Anger may injure the Liver, causing stiffness in tendons and bones; overthinking may injure the Spleen, causing muscle nodules; rich and greasy foods may generate pus and foulness. Children suffering from this condition have weak constitution, are affected by summer-heat, wind-dampness, and heat, and consume fatty and sweet foods. The disease starts before or below the ear, with cheek swelling extending to the neck, dull pain penetrating to bones and muscles, small nodules the size of a plum, redness, swelling, chills and fever resembling malaria, occurring on either side. The jaw becomes stiff. Initially hard and unresolving, ulcers become difficult to heal later. First, probe out wind-phlegm. Initially, moxa burn the swollen neck area and five fen below the ear, seven moxa cones each. Apply plaster to drain internal toxins. Use Jin Gu San (Golden Hoop Powder) combined with Zhui Feng San (Wind-Chasing Powder) applied to external swellings and jaw areas. Blow Zhui Feng San into the wound, prick to bleed, apply secret powder, and administer Qingyang Sanhuo Tang (Clear Yang Disperse Fire Decoction). After ulceration, take Qianjin Neituo San plus Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Fructus) and Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Radix), or Zhonghe Tang (Neutralizing Decoction). Apply secret powder and regenerate tissue. When Water rises and Wood descends, Spleen strengthens and Metal clears, recovery occurs. If external necrosis fails to heal, deficiency heat persists, hardness remains, and emaciation sets in, death ensues.
Qingyang Sanhuo Tang (Clear Yang Disperse Fire Decoction): Treats swelling at the gum margin radiating pain to ears and neck.
Ingredients: Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) 4 fen, Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) 7 fen, Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Nian Zi (Arctii Fructus), Liao Qiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Spica) 1.4 qian each, Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) 4 fen, Shi Gao (Gypsum Fibrosum) 3 qian, Bai Ji Li (Tribuli Fructus) 1 qian.
Preparation: Decoct in water, take after meals.
Song for Gu Cao Feng (Bone Trench Wind):
Bone trench wind originates from the Taiyang Meridian, caused by anger injuring tendons. Overthinking injures Spleen causing muscle knots, pain in jaw and below ear. Seven moxa cones at five fen below. Blowing Zhui Feng powder and needling are used. Qingyang Sanhuo Tang is suitable initially; Zhonghe and Neituo powders are precious as gold.

This condition arises from long-standing accumulated heat-toxin in the Heart. The tongue swells and turns white, resembling Mu She (Wooden Tongue). However, Wooden Tongue is smaller and harder, whereas this is swollen and white. The practitioner scrapes off the white layer with a knife, applies Zhui Feng San (Wind-Chasing Powder) mixed with Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum), She Xiang (Moschus), Qing Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), and Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), wiping the tongue with wet fingers until healed. If swelling is severe, prick Jin Jin (Metal Spring) and Yu Ye (Jade Fluid) acupoints to bleed, apply secret powder, and administer Xueshi Tang (Scholar's Decoction). Hold saliva medicine in the mouth, frequently blowing secret powder. If pus forms after a long time, puncture left and right sides to discharge black blood from the tongue. If color does not change after pricking, tongue retracts preventing speech, and tongue becomes rigid, death occurs.
Song for Si She Yong (Dead Tongue Abscess):
Dead tongue abscess resembles wooden tongue, white and swollen with much pain. Scrape white coating clean. Use Zhui Feng powder with Borneol, Moschus, Dried Ginger, and Green Orange Peel. Prick Jade Fluid and Metal Spring to release blood. Blow secret powder and hold water medicine. Drink Yingzhou Xueshi Tang. If tongue retracts and turns black, life is lost.

This condition arises from accumulated heat-toxin in the Heart Meridian, Qi stagnation, labor injury, combined with summer-heat and damp-heat. Five peaks appear under the tongue, sharp like a lotus flower. Three peaks indicate mild condition; seven peaks indicate severe condition. If phlegm exists, use Zhui Feng San to resolve phlegm, blow secret powder nearby. If peaks bleed, apply secret powder. The central peak is the sprout of the Heart; do not needle it to avoid fatal injury. Initially take Huanglian Xiexin Tang (Coptis Decoction to Drain the Heart) and Xueshi Tang. Later take Qianjin Neituo San. When pus matures, prick to drain blood, blow secret powder, then apply Shengji San (Regenerate Tissue Powder). Some cases appear on the tongue surface, an inch higher than the tongue base; bleed from both sides of the lower root, blow secret powder for cure.
Song for Lianhua Dian She (Lotus Ornament Tongue):
Why does fine tongue resemble a lotus? All due to accumulated heat in the Heart Meridian. Three, five, or seven peaks grow under the tongue, named for its lotus-like shape. Avoid injuring the central acupoint under the tongue; must needle Jade Fluid and Metal Spring. If pus forms, use Thousand Gold Internal Support Powder. Initially take Coptis and Scholar's Decoctions.

This condition affects children who drink sweet, hot substances, or whose mothers prefer such drinks, or due to heat received in the womb. Pearls appear on the tongue, first reddish-purple, then yellowish-white, with severe pain. Larger lesions require blowing the primary powder, pricking to bleed, then blowing secret powder with added Borneol. Smaller lesions require only blowing secret powder. Administer Sanhuang Liangge San (Three-Yellow Cooling Chest Powder) or Huadu Dan (Detoxification Pill). If unable to swallow, the mother takes the medicine, and secret powder is applied to the nipple for the infant to swallow. Same method for tongue pearls.
Song for Zhenzhu Du (Pearl Poison):
Pearl poison grows on the tongue, caused by fire-toxin invading the Heart Meridian. Red, yellow, purple, and white colors cause much pain. Small knife removes blood, secret medicine is effective. Three-Yellow Cooling Chest clears Heart fire; Detoxification Pills are swallowed by children.

This condition arises from heat-toxin accumulation in the Heart and Diaphragm affecting the tongue. It is difficult to treat in the elderly but curable in the young. If perforations exist, it is a complete syndrome. One or two holes may bleed on either side, with a black center. Large black centers are dissolved with medicine; small ones are picked out with a needle. Clean with water medicine, blow primary powder, and take Sanhuang Liangge San for two to three doses. If wounds do not close, mix with Shengji San (Regenerate Tissue Powder).
Song for Qin She (Cicada Tongue):
Cicada tongue results from Heart labor and Qi stagnation; four eyes on the tongue indicate full syndrome. One or two holes flow fresh blood; difficult to remove in old age, easier in youth. Sanhuang Liangge San is suitable initially. Pick out black centers and frequently blow secret powder. Recovery depends entirely on Regenerate Tissue Powder. Rigid tongue and sores lead to death.

Lesions appear above or on either side, painful, foul-smelling, and rotting, with tongue coating and cheek swelling. The practitioner blows primary powder evenly, cuts it off, then blows secret powder several times. Take Sanhuang Wan (Three-Yellow Pill) to resolve it. For small sparrow tongue, scrape with a knife without cutting. If wounds do not close, use Shengji San.
Song for Que She (Sparrow Tongue):
Sparrow tongue is caused by wind and Qi stagnation, producing much phlegm on the tongue side. Blow primary powder and cut with knife. Then blow secret powder mixed with Jun. Take Sanhuang Liangge San frequently. Regenerate tissue aids healing miraculously.

Shape resembles a round eye or jujube pit, with unbearable swelling and pain, inability to speak, rolled purple-hard tongue. Initially blow primary powder, remove blood, blow secret powder evenly. Take Huanglian Xiexin Tang (Coptis Decoction to Drain the Heart) with Jin Yin Hua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos), Bei Mu (Fritillariae Bulbus), and Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix). Later, remove pus, blow secret powder, and take Qianjin Neituo San (Thousand Gold Internal Support Powder). Finally, use Shengji San to close wounds.
Song for Juan She Yong (Rolled Tongue Abscess):
Rolled tongue abscess grows under the tongue, left, right, or center. Fruit-pit shaped with much pain, yellow rolled-purple tongue closes throat. Prick lesion with knife, blow Jun and secret powder for great merit. Coptis Xiexin with Fritillaria resolves it; Thousand Gold Internal Support works later.

Take Dou Shi Ganjie Tang (Dou's Licorice and Platycodon Decoction) and Zhi Zi (Gardeniae Fructus), followed by Huanglian Jiedu Tang (Coptis Detoxification Decoction). Blow secret powder; do not use knife or needle. If phlegm knots on the tongue forming hard nodules, blow Bingpeng San (Borneol and Borax Powder), prick to bleed, and take Jiawei Erchen Tang (Modified Two-Chen Decoction).
Song for She Shang Sheng Yong (Abscess Growing on Tongue):
Sores on tongue named Zhong , mostly caused by fire-toxin disturbing the Heart. Irritability and suffering prevail. Secret blowing avoids knife/needle. Take Licorice-Platycodon and Coptis sequentially. Phlegm condensation on tongue uses Erchen.

This condition arises from blazing Heart fire, appearing like pinholes with continuous bleeding. The practitioner sprinkles Huai Hua Mo (Sophorae Flos Powder) into the holes. Take Xi Jiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu - *Note: Substitute with Trichosanthes or other safe alternative in modern practice, though text says Rhinoceros*), Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex), Sheng Di (Rehmanniae Radix), Chi Shao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Shan Zhi (Gardeniae Fructus), Pu Huang (Typhae Pollen stir-fried black). Decoct and take together.
Another Prescription:
Chi Dou (Vigna angularis) one sheng, pounded, mixed with three bowls of water, crushed to extract juice. Take one cup per dose, at any time.
Song for She Nu (Tongue Hemorrhage):
Tongue hemorrhage is due to excess Heart fire, pinhole-shaped with bright red blood flow. Immediately sprinkle Sophora powder on top. Four Substances, Moutan, Rhinoceros horn, and Coptis are used. Pound one sheng of red beans raw, mix with water, decoct juice, and drink for immortality.

This condition results from excessive thinking, waking often with little sleep, moving deficiency fire. Mouth breaks, tongue lacks skin, pale color with fine white spots. Severe cases show depressed turtle patterns, deficient pulse, no thirst. Treatment uses Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) added with Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex), Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex), and Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) as guides, following the reverse treatment method. Externally apply Liuhua San (Willow Flower Powder). Do not mistake for excess fire and use cold-cooling agents. Excess fire symptoms are listed below for reference.
Excess fire is caused by rich foods, strong wine, roasted/fried items. Heart fire flares up, color is red-purple, mouth covered with rotten spots. Severe cases involve swollen cheeks and tongue, solid pulse, dry mouth. Take Liangge San (Cooling Chest Powder), blow secret powder. If sores on tongue, dry yellow cracked tongue with thirst, add Bawei Wan (Eight-Ingredient Pill) to nourish the source. Rinse mouth is prohibited.
Song for She Shang Gui Wen (Turtle Pattern on Tongue):
Turtle pattern on tongue moves deficiency fire, looking like lacking skin, pale red. Siwu with Cinnamon, Moutan, Anemarrhena, and Phellodendrum. Willow Flower Powder slowly achieves success. Avoid cold-cooling and excessive attacking. Do not speak of excess fire here.

This condition is phlegm-fluid riding fire, flowing and凝注 (condensing), forming soft, non-hard phlegm swelling under the tongue, interfering with eating, causing pain and discomfort. The practitioner blows primary powder, pierces the bubble with a knife, presses out the phlegm, blows Bingpeng San (Borneol and Borax Powder), and takes Erchen Tang (Two-Chen Decoction). If it recurs after healing, take Qingre Rusheng San (Heat-Clearing Like-Saint Powder).
Song for Tan Pao (Phlegm Bubble):
Phlegm-fluid and fire rise to flow under tongue, swelling like cotton with pain. Blow primary powder and pierce with knife. Drain phlegm mucus and press dry. Apply Borneol-Borax powder again. Modified Two-Chen brings peace.

This condition arises from fire rushing upward, phlegm following fire to flood the tongue, suddenly filling the mouth, soft like a pig bladder, painless, salivating, interfering with speech. The practitioner observes green bubbles like crab eyes under the tongue, blows primary secret powder, pierces and presses out phlegm, rinses with warm water, blows secret powder, adds Bingpeng (Borneol-Borax) and Yuanming Fen (Mirabilite), and takes Jiawei Erchen Tang (Modified Two-Chen Decoction) with Niu Bang Zi (Arctii Fructus), Liao Qiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis), and Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix). One case: sudden tongue swelling retreated to the exit door, pain like needle pricks. A wandering monk said it was centipede poison along the bowl rim, ingested by people. Soak tongue in one cup of rooster blood, apply Yushu Dan (Jade Pivot Pill), or take it. If unavailable, grind Xiong Huang (Realgar), Zhu Sha (Cinnabar), and Bing Pian (Borneol) to fine powder, blow onto lesion, also excellent.
Song for Pao She (Bubble Tongue):
Bubble tongue looks like pig bladder, phlegm follows fire invading Heart Meridian. Painless but interferes with speech, full mouth salivation prevents eating. Prick blue veins under tongue, phlegm flows like egg white. Secret powder mixed with Borneol-Borax blown on lesion. Medication increases use of Erchen.

Shape like pearls, initially one or two, soon spreading, three, five, seven, eight, nine like a string of pearls. Tongue swells, phlegm rises, inability to eat. Using a large needle dipped in tung oil, heated red, prick seven points along the horizontal vein according to the diagram. Song for Mu She (Wooden Tongue):
Wooden tongue is due to excess Heart fire, tongue hard as wood, purple and painful. High fever, aversion to cold, slurred speech. Blow secret powder, prick blue veins under tongue. Take Coptis Xiexin Decoction internally. Occasionally blow primary secret powder mixed with Borneol. After pricking purple swelling to remove blood, needle Jade Fluid and Metal Spring.
