The next day, stool resembling rotten fish and dark red urine indicate efficacy. After discharge, there is no toxicity. For children, use one qian, adjusted by age and size.
Note: This formula regulates qi and blood.
Cautionary Note: Formulas for treating accumulation generally employ harsh reduction for excess qi conditions, hence ancient formulas are often similar. In recent times, purging agents such as Jian Hong Wan (Red Shearing Pill) and La Wan (Wax Pill) to remove accumulation have also become common methods.
However, failing to distinguish between different types of accumulation (qi, blood, parasites, substances) and the varying deficiency or excess states of patients often leads to error. Therefore, they are not recorded here. For cases suitable for vomiting therapy, follow the methods of Zhang Hezi. For those with qi deficiency and emaciation, refer to the formulas of Li Dongyuan, which have already revealed subtle approaches. Practitioners should seek the underlying intent and adapt accordingly.
