One must be extremely cautious when dealing with Shanghan fever accompanied by a deep pulse, as well as cases of Yuanyang夾Yin (Original Yang combined with Yin pathogen) Shanghan fever. Wu Shanfu said: When Wind-Cold invades the Maopiao (Skin and Hair) and Coulil (Intercellular spaces), it is appropriate to release the exterior; however, if the Bu Zheng Zhi Qi (Abnormal Qi of the four seasons) enters through the nose and mouth and resides internally, one should not use heavy sweating methods, but rather use aromatic qi-promoting herbs to avoid the abnormal Qi, assisted by sweet and neutral herbs like Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) and Fuling (Poria) to cultivate the body's resistance, and caution should be exercised.
