天麻子（挑选肥大者三十粒，去壳衣） 透明朱砂（一钱） 麝香（挑选真品当门子五厘）。
上述三种药物，先将朱砂和麝香研成极细的粉末，然后加入天麻子共同研磨成膏状。在五月五日午时，擦抹小儿头顶心。都要使其出痘数粒。次年端午节再擦一次，出痘三粒；再次年端午节又擦一次，从此永远不出天花痘疹。如果是未满周岁的婴儿，在七月七日、九月九日，按照这种方法擦抹，效果更好。男女治疗方法相同。传授此方的人家，已经十三代没有出过天花了。因此刊印出版，公之于众。
又一方：
凡是婴孩无论男女，从五月起，到八月有七个“除日”（指农历每月的初四、十四、二十四日，或特定避忌之日，此处指特定的清洁/避痘日子）。每逢除日，使用川楝子，挑选肥大光洁、不蛀不坏的三十个，用水十五碗，照前法捣烂煎煮浓汁，洗擦。捣药时忌讳使用铁器。不仅不会出痘，而且能避免疮疖。如果不相信，可以在手或足留一处不涂，出痘时必定聚集在一处。这是神方，不要忽视。
Treats ganji (pediatric malnutrition syndrome caused by spleen and stomach weakness). For cases with weak spleen and stomach functions where muscles do not grow. It can be used for excess-type patterns, but should be avoided in deficiency-type patterns.
Wugu Chong (Grainworms, *Aphodius* spp., 1 liang, washed and dried) Da Xiahama (Large Toad, 1 piece, yellow ones are preferred) Shanzha Rou (Hawthorn Flesh, steamed) Lian Rou (Lotus Seed Meat, heart removed, each 2 liang) Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, processed together into a fine powder, mixed with brown sugar, pounded into cakes, to be eaten by children as needed, effective.)
Wugu Chong (Grainworms) Dayamai (Sprouted Hordeum Vulgare Fruit, *Hordeum vulgare* germinatum) Qingpi (Green Tangerine Peel, *Citrus reticulata* 'Chachi' pericarpium) Shijunzi (Quinine Tree Seed, *Quisqualis indica* seed) (These four ingredients in equal parts) Shanzha Rou (Hawthorn Flesh) Rouguo (Nutmeg, *Myristica fragrans* seed) (These two ingredients in half the amount), ground into powder. Take 3 qian with boiled water.
Treats pediatric malaria. When other methods fail, this formula is most effective. Strictly avoid letting the medicine enter the mouth.
Daizheshi (Hematitum, 5 pieces, heated red-hot and quenched in vinegar) Zhusha (Cinnabaris, 5 fen) Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide, size of a bean), wrapped in paper seven layers, dampened and baked dry. Add a small amount of Shexiang (Musk, *Moschus* musk gland secretion).
Shijunzi Rou (Quinine Tree Seed Meat, 14 seeds, half raw and half stir-fried), ground into powder, taken empty-stomach mixed with brown sugar. Parasites will be excreted in stool. If not fully expelled, take frequently until complete.
Lianfang Ke (Nelumbinis Nelumbo Stem Petiole Hull, 2 pieces, charred to preserve efficacy and ground into powder), applied externally mixed with well mud.
Another Formula:
Baihehua Ban (White Lotus Petal, *Nelumbo nucifera* petalum, any quantity), dried and ground into powder, applied externally mixed with sesame oil.
Tianmazǐ (Gastrodia Rhizome? Note: Context suggests a specific local herb or typo for Tianma, but literally "Heaven Hemp Seed", likely referring to a specific seed used topically here, 30 large plump seeds, shell and skin removed) Touming Zhusha (Transparent Cinnabar, 1 qian) Shexiang (True Musk, specifically Dangmenzi from the central gland, 5 li).
The above three medicines: First grind Cinnabar and Musk into an extremely fine powder, then add Tianmazǐ and grind together into a paste. Apply to the vertex (Baihui area) of the infant's head at noon on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. Ensure several pustules appear. Repeat once on the Dragon Boat Festival of the following year, resulting in three pustules; repeat again on the Dragon Boat Festival of the second following year, after which smallpox will never occur. For infants under one year old, apply according to this method on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month and the ninth day of the ninth lunar month for better results. The treatment is the same for both males and females. The family transmitting this formula has been free from smallpox for thirteen generations. Therefore, it is published here for public use.
Another Formula:
For all infants regardless of gender, starting from the fifth month up to the eighth month, there are seven "Chu days" (auspicious/clean days). On each Chu day, use Chuanlianzi (Chinese Melia Fruit, *Melia azedarach* fruit), selecting 30 large, smooth, unblemished, non-borer-infested fruits. Boil in 15 bowls of water, pound thoroughly, and decoct into a concentrated liquid for washing and rubbing. Avoid using iron vessels when pounding the medicine. This not only prevents smallpox but also avoids sores and boils. If you do not believe it, leave one spot on the hand or foot untreated; if smallpox occurs, it will cluster there. This is a divine prescription, do not neglect it.
