皂荚丸 治肺痈百药无效者。括去皮弦酥炙为末。蜜丸。以枣膏和汤服三丸。

白芨末 治疗肺叶腐烂脱落。用纯净的白芨粉末一两，分三次服用。用白开水送服一服可止痛。

After the recovery from measles, chronic cough persists without cessation. When white foam resembling rice paste is expectorated from time to time, it is named Fei Wei (Lung萎/Atrophy, a condition characterized by lung tissue atrophy and functional decline), caused by excessive fire damaging the Metal (Lung). The treatment should nourish blood, tonify qi, protect the Lung, and clear fire. Initially, Jiawei Erdong Tang (Modified Two Asparagus Decoction) is used, followed by Mendong Qingfei Yin (Asparagus Lung-Clearing Decoction). If chronic cough causes pain radiating to the chest and hypochondrium, or if pus and blood are expectorated, or material resembling rice porridge is vomited, this indicates internal toxicity in the Lung, named Fei Yong (Lung Abscess). The treatment should purge heat, resolve phlegm, open and ascend to dissipate, detoxify, and expel pus, with Ningfei Jiegeng Tang (Lung-Calming Platycodon Decoction) as the primary formula. Fei Wei belongs to deficiency of righteous Qi, while Fei Yong belongs to invasion of external pathogens; they must not be treated erroneously. The Maijue (Pulse Classic) states: "If the Cun position pulse is rapid and full, the Lung Abscess has formed; if the Cun position pulse is rapid, deficient, and choppy, it is the form of Lung Atrophy."

Add fresh ginger as a guide
In the initial stage, add Fang Feng, remove Huang Qin and Wu Wei Zi. If cough is severe, add Bai He. If body heat is present, add Chai Hu and Huang Qin. If urination is difficult, add Mu Tong and Deng Xin Cao. If defecation is difficult, add Zhi Jun (prepared Rheum palmatum root and rhizome). If irritability and hemoptysis occur, add Mao Cao Gen. If chest pain is severe, add Ren Shen and Bai Zhi.
Bai Ji Mo (Polygonati Rhizoma Powder) for treating rotting and shedding of lung lobes. Use one liang of pure, clean Polygonati Rhizoma powder, divided into three doses. Take one dose with warm water to relieve pain.
After the second dose and throughout the course until the third dose is completed, use one pig lung, add one liang of Sichuan pepper inside, cook and eat it. Avoid iron vessels. For cough due to phlegm-fire, use one pig lung with two liang of Polygonati Rhizoma, cook and eat three times, and it will heal spontaneously.
Zao Jia Wan (Gleditsiae Sinensis Pill) for treating Lung Abscess when all other medicines fail. Scrape off the skin and strings of Gleditsiae Sinensis, roast with butter, grind into powder, make pills with honey, and take three pills mixed with jujube paste in decoction.
