Wrist Poison (a toxic sore occurring at the wrist) arises between the bones of the wrist joint (carpal bones). This is primarily due to internal heat generated by the Heart and wind stirred by the Liver. When wind-heat becomes excessively congested, it causes Qi and Blood to burn and scorch. Additionally, emotional disturbances such as anger, joy, worry, and fear accumulate in the Heart, giving rise to this toxicity. Treatment should involve Ding Tong Xiao Du Yin (Pain-Calming and Toxin-Resolving Decoction) and Nei Tuo Liu Qi Yin (Internal Support and Qi-Circulating Decoction). If the toxin penetrates through the palm and wrist, indicating that Heart toxicity has flowed into the bone marrow, it constitutes a critical condition. In such cases, San Xiang Tuo Li Yin (Three Fragrances Supporting Interior Decoction) must be urgently administered for rescue, or Ruxiang Fanhun Tang (Frankincense Soul-Returning Decoction) may be used (formula see previous section). Externally, apply Wan Ling Gao (Myriad Spirits Ointment), followed by the application of Sheng Ji San (Flesh-Regenerating Powder). If pain is severe, fumigate with Ruxiang San (Frankincense Powder).

Bi Du (toxic swelling in the groin), also known as Yu Kou (Fish Mouth), occurs in the inguinal region (inner thigh crease). It affects both men and women and is governed by the Jueyin Liver Meridian. It arises from excessive alcohol consumption and sexual activity, sitting or lying on damp ground, or infiltration by damp-heat pathogens. The term "Yu Kou" refers to the appearance of the ulcer, which opens wide and does not close easily. If treated improperly, it may persist for years without healing. Initially, use Yi Sao Dan (One Sweep Powder) and Shi Xiao Bing (Shi Xiao Cake), along with internal administration of Muxiang Xiao Du Yin (Aucklandia Toxin-Resolving Decoction), to resolve the toxicity internally and achieve cure. If treatment is delayed, administer Renshen Bai Du Yin (Ginseng Resisting Pathogens Decoction) and Huanglian Jie Du Tang (Coptis Toxin-Resolving Decoction). Once ulcerated, apply Wan Ling Gao (Myriad Spirits Ointment) and Sheng Ji San (Flesh-Regenerating Powder). Avoid movement, as it hinders wound closure. This toxicity is classified into male and female types: Male type is small and elongated, easy to treat; Female type is round and large, difficult to treat. The male type has no branches ("sons"); the female type has three or four branches. If the female type appears first, the branches appear separately around it. Apply moxibustion to three or four points (or three to four burns); the branches will recede. Then take medicines sequentially to eliminate future complications.
