For infants with accumulated heat, presenting with heat in both interior and exterior, generalized body heat, flushed cheeks, dry mouth, dark urine, and dry yellow stool. First use Sishun Qingliang Yinzi (Four-Obedience Cooling Decoction) to promote bowel movement and clear the viscera; stop when heat subsides. If heat recurs after subsiding, it indicates that internal heat has resolved but external heat remains; one should use Xingxing San (Xingxing Powder) or Hongmian San (Red Cotton Powder) added with Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba) to induce slight sweating, so that external heat may be eliminated. After external heat is gone, if fever recurs, why is this? Physicians of the world often fail to understand this stage; some use cooling medicines again, some attempt to release the exterior again, or declare it incurable, leading to many misdiagnoses and premature deaths. This is because both exterior and interior are deficient, Qi fails to return to its origin, and Yang floats externally, causing recurrent fever; this is not a heat syndrome. Use only Liushen San (Six-God Powder) with Jingmi (Oryza Sativa Germ) decocted together to harmonize Stomach Qi, thereby gathering Yang internally and cooling the body; for severe heat, use Yinbai San (Silver White Powder).
Treating infant dizziness, flushed cheeks, sensation of heat in the mouth, dark urine, and scanty stool, indicating interior heat.
