To treat injuries from falls and blows, as well as metal wounds leading to syncope.
Take Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati (Puhuang), in any quantity, grind into powder. Administer with hot wine.
Tianshui Niu (one specimen, those with a single horn are especially effective; place in a small bottle, add one qian of sand, grind finely, dissolve with a little water, and soak the Tianshui Niu).
Drip the medicinal solution onto the wound caused by the arrowhead from above; the arrowhead will naturally emerge.
The effect is indescribably wonderful.
Take leaves of Mulberry (Sangye), dry them in the shade, grind into powder, and apply dry to the wound. If unavailable, roast until dry and apply immediately.
Another prescription: Take several ground beetles (Tugou), crush to extract juice, and drip onto the wound. After three to five applications, the arrowhead will naturally fall out.
To treat arrowheads embedded in bone that cannot be extracted.
Semina Crotonis Tiglii (Badou) (half a grain); Dung Beetle (Qianglang) (one large specimen, remove legs and wings).
Remove the shells, lightly heat together, grind uniformly, and apply to the wound. After a short while, pain subsides, followed by slight itching; endure this. When it becomes unbearable, shake slightly, and the arrowhead can be extracted immediately.
To treat meridian injury caused by acupuncture, with continuous suppuration.
Radix Astragali Membranacei (Huangqi) (eight liang); Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui) (three liang, washed); Cortex Cinnamomi (Rougui); Lignum Aucklandiae (Muxiang); Resina Olibani (Ruxiang) (separately ground); Lignum Aquilariae Resinatum (Chenxiang) (each one liang).
Grind all ingredients into powder. Use four liang of Semen Phaseoli Sojae (Lvdoufen), cooked with Ginger Juice (Jiangzhi) to form a paste for pills, sized like Sophora japonica seeds (Wutongzi). Take fifty pills each time, at any time, swallowed with warm water.
To treat severe injuries causing restlessness and a sensation of impending death, using this formula to break blood stasis and promote urination and defecation.
Huairui Shi San; Heishen San (see previous sections); Dasheng San; Puhuang San (the latter two see Gynecology section); Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui) (roasted); Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae (Niuxi).
Grind into powder and mix to form pills. Take with urine from an uncircumcised boy (Tongzi Xiaoyan), or alternatively with Decoction of Akebiae Caulis (Mutong Tang). Evil blood will be expelled immediately.
To treat sprains and injuries to hands and feet.
Take Semen Phaseoli Sojae (Lvdoufen), stir-fry in a new iron pot until truly purple, mix with fresh well water to form a thick paste. Apply thickly to the injured area, ensuring full coverage, and fix with paper flowers.
To treat knife cuts and contusions with unceasing bleeding and unbearable pain, take a large handful of White Part of Scallion (Congbai), cook thoroughly, crush, and bind while hot. Pain and bleeding will stop simultaneously. Reapply when cool.
