To treat contusions and injuries, dislocation of the arm joint (brachial socket), and all kinds of carbuncles and swellings that have not yet ruptured, with the aim of promoting internal resolution. Use fresh Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Dihuang) ground into a paste, and Costus Root (Muxiang) ground into powder. Spread the Rehmannia paste on paper, sprinkle a layer of Costus powder, then spread another layer of Rehmannia paste to adhere to the affected area. Pain will cease by the next morning; this is effective.
Single prescription: To treat knife wounds with unceasing bleeding leading to near-death state, if Huarui Shi San (Flower Stalactite Powder) is ineffective, use a piece of pure and good-quality Dalbergia Odorifera Lignum (Xiangjiaxiang). Scrape it down using a porcelain tile, and further grind it using a stone mill.
Another prescription: Use two taels of Kaolin (Baihuashi) and five qian of Lead Oxide (Huandan), grind them into powder, and apply dry powder to the wound.
To contract metallic weapon wounds (Jinchuang) and stop pain.
For the above, use Persicaria Hirta Herba (Liujinu) ground into powder, sprinkle onto the wound; immediate effect is observed.
Another prescription: Apply dust from behind the door hinge to the affected area.
To treat fractures and injuries of the hands and feet; both internal administration and external application are applicable. Pain ceases after half a day, the limbs become firm and stable, and recovery is rapid.
For the above, use Sichuan Angelicae Radix (Chuan Danggui) and Lead Carbonate (Qianfen), each half tael, along with Borax (Pengsha), two qian. Grind them together into fine powder. Decoct Sappan Wood (Sumu) in water to obtain juice, and mix one daqian of the powder into the juice. If the injury is in the upper body, first consume light fluids/diet, and bind with cloth.
To treat malignant sores and knife/axe wounds with bleeding. Use an appropriate amount of Calcined Alumen (Baiduanshi) powder, mix with Juice of Chinese Chive (Jiucai), dry in shade, and grind into powder. Apply a small amount to the affected area; after wiping away a little blood, comfort is achieved. If intestines protrude due to ulceration, suture them using mulberry root bark (Sangbaipi) thread, cover with dressing, and secure firmly with cloth; this is effective.
Another prescription: Use raw Silkworm Excrement (Wancansha) ground into powder, sprinkle evenly over the wound, wrap with cotton cloth; the sore heals and bleeding stops promptly.
To treat metallic weapon wounds and sudden onset of malignant sores.
Superior grade Lead Oxide (Huandan) and Soft Gypsum (Ruan Shigao) (amount as needed, fired until red hot), grind finely and mix uniformly. The color should resemble peach blossoms. Sprinkle onto the wound; this is excellent.
Another prescription: Husun Tou Cao (Husun Tou Grass), which bears yellow flowers and fruits resembling Tribulus fruit (Jili); villagers call it Caoxuejie because it can stop bleeding. Use its seeds, grind thoroughly, and apply.
Another prescription: Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai), half jin; Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia), four liang. Grind into powder. Each time, take half liang, mix with natural juice extracted from Fresh Ginger (Shengjiang) and Fresh Rehmanniae Radix (Shengdihuang), and apply to the affected area. If there is a fracture, bind tightly with silk cloth, then secure with fir tree bark (Shanmupi).
Another prescription: To treat wounds from blades or blows, and severe head injuries with unceasing bleeding.
Dalbergia Odorifera Lignum (Xiangjiaxiang), Terminalia Chebula Retz. Fruit (Wubeizi), and Verdigris (Tongqing) scraped from a mirror surface, in equal parts. Grind into powder and apply to the wound; this is effective.
Another prescription: To treat knife and axe wounds. Use ramie harvested in April of the previous year, knead until extremely soft, cover the wound, and tie firmly to stop bleeding. Wild ramie leaves can also be used.
Another prescription: Water Dragon Bone (Shuailonggu) (i.e., old grease from ships), grind into powder, apply to the wound, and secure with a cloth strip. For skin lacerations, suture with mulberry root bark thread.
Another prescription: To treat severe injuries where the membrane is not penetrated. Select alkali white fish maw (Bianbiao) from seafood, choosing pieces that are white with red veins. Lay these pieces flat on the wound... [Text fragment "New shave" implies preparation of the area] ...for healing.
Another prescription: On the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, collect Verbena Officinalis Herba (Mabiancao), Ophiopogon japonicus (Qu pen cao - *Note: Qu Pen usually refers to Acupoint Jianjing, but here likely a local herb name, possibly referring to a specific plant like Adenophora or similar, literal translation kept*), and Xuejianchou (which is Caoxuejie). Pound into a paste, mix with wind-weathered ash, grind into powder, and apply; cure follows immediately.
Prescription for blood accumulation under intact skin: Chop radish leaves finely, apply to the wound, and bind with cloth.
