Grind copper powder finely and take it orally; recovery is immediate.
Treat injuries from falling from a height, complicated by fright palpitations (Jingji, 惊悸), disordered Qi and Blood (Xueqi, 血气), coma, and loss of consciousness. Administer urgently for great efficacy. (See the formula in the Da Fang Ke section on Qi disorders).
Treat contusions, sprains, and bone fractures. Take ancient copper coins worth half a tael (Banliang Guwenqian, 半两古文钱) in any quantity. Thread them with an iron wire, place them in an iron box, and heat thoroughly over charcoal fire. Prepare a bowl containing half a sheng (Sheng, 升) of good wine and half a sheng of rice vinegar. Use iron tongs to open the box, remove the coins, and quench them repeatedly in the wine and vinegar mixture. Clarify and discard the liquid, then wash with warm water. Repeat this washing process many times for optimal results. If residual "fire toxicity" remains, it may cause aphonia (Ya, 哑). Once clean, dry the coins by baking and grind into a fine powder. Add Frankincense (Ruxiang, 乳香), Myrrh (Moyao, 没药), and Leech (Shuizhi, 水蛭) in equal proportions, and grind into powder. Each dose consists of half a zi or one zi (Zi, 字, a small unit of weight). First, mix the medicine with fresh ginger juice, then swallow with warm wine. If there is no fracture, vomiting will occur immediately after ingestion. If not vomited, the medicine acts directly on the pathology with the strength of gold wire winding around a bow, yielding miraculous effects. Avoid alcohol for three days after the first dose.
Treat injuries caused by clubs, sticks, knives, or axes, where pain is unbearable.
Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 防风) (remove rhizome stump)
Nanxing (Arisaematis Rhizoma, 南星) (wash with decoction)
Zuo Cuo San (Left-Cutting Powder, 左锉散). Each dose: three qian (Qian, 钱). Use half a zhan (Zhan, 盏) of water and half a zhan of wine. Crush fresh ginger and decoct together with the powder. Drink the entire amount orally. For severe cases, no more than three doses are needed for immediate effect.
Treat metal weapon wounds (Jinchuang, 金疮).
Zhen Longgu (Os Draconis, 真龙骨)
Haipiaoxiao (Sepiae Endoconcha, 海螵蛸)
Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis, 五倍子)
Chishizhi (Halloysit Rubra, 赤石脂)
Huandan (Lithargyrum, 黄丹) (calcined, or omitted; using Xuejie only is better)
Shitingzhi (Stibnite, 石亭脂) (One prescription does not include this; adjust quantities or use in equal parts. If the wound is large, first wash with cold salt water, then apply raw pulp from Huangsang branches around the wound perimeter. Wait until the skin contracts and dries, then apply the powder dry. For small wounds, simply rinse briefly with cold salt water and apply the powder; this method is extremely effective.)
Treat injuries from blades, falls from heights, or crushing by wood/stone, resulting in blood stasis accumulation, abdominal pain, and obstruction of urination and defecation.
Hongzhi (Leech, 红蛭) (stir-fry slowly with Duan Shi until dry and yellow, dosage: half liang)
Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 大黄)
Heiqianniu (Pharbitidis Semen, 黑牵牛) (each: three liang)
Grind all ingredients into powder. Each dose: two qian. Mix with hot wine and take. After walking approximately four to five li (Li, 里), administer another two qian of Qianniu powder mixed with hot wine to promote evacuation. Dark clots of blood must be expelled.
