Treats contusions and traumatic injuries where stagnant blood flows into the epigastrium, causing vomiting of black blood resembling bean dregs.
Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao), Lilii Bulbus (Baihe, soaked in water), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie Sui) (all in equal proportions).
Crush these into a powder. Take 4 qian per dose, decoct with one lamp of water and half a lamp of wine, take at any time without restriction.
Treats injuries to the waist and hypochondrium from falling from heights or contusions, causing pain in the heart and abdomen. Add a small amount of Red Yeast Rice Powder (Hongqu Mo), mix with urine from an uncircumcised boy and wine for administration.
If Red Yeast Rice is unavailable, red wine may be used. (See Formula in the Category of Various Hernias in the Major Department.)
Treats injuries from falling from heights and contusions.
Musk (Shexiang), Leech (Shuizhi) (each 1 liang).
Crush the leeches finely, stir-fry until smoke appears, grind into powder, add Musk, and grind again until uniform. For each dose, mix with wine and take 1 qian; accumulated stagnant blood will naturally discharge. If ineffective, take another dose.
External application of medicine
Treats contusions and traumatic injuries; whether skin is broken by claws or there are hidden internal injuries, all can be cured. Apply mixed with cold water to heal. (See Formula in the Spleen [category] of the Major Department.)
Treats various wounds and damages. Suitable even for fresh injuries where the skin is not broken but internal damage exists, as well as old injuries that cause intermittent pain after being beaten open.
Chuanwu (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Caowu (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix) (slightly processed, each 3 qian), Danggui, Baishao, Sappanwood (Sumu), Rhubarb (Dahuang), Raw Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Shengdi Huang), Red Yeast Rice (Hongqu, fried, each half liang).
Grind into powder. Boil in a clay bottle with wine, let cool, then take. Numbness is harmless. Since raw Chuanwu and Caowu are potent and potentially too harsh, warm [processing/administration] is used.
Treats wrist fractures and arm breaks caused by falling from horses or carriages.
Danggui (fried), Cinnamon Twig (Guixin), Licorice Root (Gancao, roasted), Sichuan Pepper (Shujiao, fried until sweat appears, each 7.5 qian), Chuanxiong (1.5 liang), Prepared Aconite Root (Fuzi, processed), Lycopus Herb (Zelan)...
Grind into powder. Take 2 qian with wine for immediate effect. Avoid Seaweed (Haizao), Chinese Cabbage (Songcai), raw green onions, cold water, etc.
Treats traumatic injury with stagnant blood coagulation, severe pain, and pain during defecation. (See Formula in the Category of Accumulated Heat in the Major Department.)
Treats massive hematemesis due to trauma, or excessive bleeding from nose and mouth due to blood recklessness caused by overeating/drinking and forceful coughing/bending forward, provided the voice remains intact. All cases are effective.
Soot from kitchen chimney (Baicaoshuang), Concha Meretricis (Bangfen) (equal proportions).
Grind into powder. Take 1-2 qian mixed with rice gruel. Juice extracted from Branches of Platycladus Orientalis (Cebai Zhi) is particularly fast-acting. For epistaxis, insufflate one zi amount. For bleeding from broken skin or moxa sores, bleeding from the tongue...
