Jiajian Xiaoyu Tang (Modified Minor Continuation Decoction)
Treats body heat, pain in limbs and joints, headache, constipation, or vomiting and regurgitation. The distinctive feature is sudden weakness of the legs upon rising abruptly, named Hong Kong Foot (Gout/Jia). (Formula see Wind Syndrome Deficiency Category, other formulas see Hong Kong Foot Category.)
Wuji San (Five Accumulations Powder)
Nature is warm, Baidu San (Defeat Toxin Powder) nature is cool. For ordinary people encountering minor colds, mix them half and half and decoct to take, named Jiaojia San (Cross-Addition Powder), which is also often effective. Minor colds are contracted suddenly due to wind, rain, and cold invasion. When righteous qi is not exhausted and pathogenic qi is not deep, use this formula first to assist righteous qi to become stronger, then pathogenic qi will naturally be dispersed. If unable to distinguish medicines in haste, simply use a few stalks of scallion white with roots, a pinch of fermented soybean (Douchi), and several slices of fresh ginger, decoct in water and drink hot. Drinking two or three cups continuously can also disperse pathogens. If pathogenic qi has entered the meridians, or during epidemic diseases, one must follow meridian methods, using exterior-releasing sweating or interior-purging methods without error. Beware. (These two formulas see earlier.)
Shuangjie San (Double Resolution Powder)
Treats damage from wind-cold, summerheat-dampness, hunger/fullness, labor, and epidemics, as well as various internal and external pathogens. Regardless of spontaneous sweating, post-sweating, or miscellaneous diseases, if one feels unwell, it can be resolved through dual action to achieve recovery. For children with eruptive diseases, it helps them erupt quickly by promoting qi circulation and diffusion to achieve recovery.
Yiyuan San (Benefit Primordial Powder) (Formula see Summerheat Category, 3 liang 5 qian) Fangfeng Tongsheng San (Wind-Pathogen Unblocking Success Powder) (Formula see Wind Category Heat Syndrome, 3 liang 5 qian)
Mix the above two uniformly, named Shuangjie San. Take 3 qian each time, with 1.5 cups of water, 3 slices of fresh ginger, 5 cun of scallion white, and 20 grains of Douchi. Decoct to 1 cup, take warm. This medicine is highly effective in the North.
Mahuang Guizhi Tang (Ephedra and Cinnamon Twig Decoction)
Treats Jueyin Cold Damage, irritability and fullness, fever and aversion to cold, alternating attacks like malaria, or testicular retraction. It is indicated when the pulse at both cun and chi positions is slightly slow.
If the pulse is deep and short, the testicles will surely retract; urgently use Chengqi Tang (Gut-Draining Decoction) to purge. Five out of ten may survive, for Chengqi Tang is a medicine that benefits Yangming. If the disease reaches Jueyin, the condition is severe. Because Yangming nourishes the sinews (Zongjin), and is attacked by heat-toxin, using Chengqi Tang to drain what nourishes it is utilizing Yang to save Yin. This is similar to the strategy of "borrowing the road of Yu to attack Guo" or "besieging Wei to rescue Zhao".
Taiyang syndrome lasting eight or nine days, resembling malaria, with fever and aversion to cold, more heat than cold, no vomiting, normal urination and defecation, occurring once or twice a day, with a slightly slow pulse, indicates impending recovery. A slightly weak pulse with aversion to cold indicates resolution of both Yin and Yang.
Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) (4 qian 1 zi) Shaoyao (Peony Root) Mahuang (Ephedra, remove nodes) Xingren (Apricot Seed, 12 grains, remove skin and tips) Gancao (Licorice, roasted. Each 0.5 liang)

Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction)

Also treats 7-8 days after vomiting or purging, where pathogenic toxins remain unresolved and knot internally, causing heat in both interior and exterior, occasional aversion to wind, and extreme thirst. With dry tongue and irritability, desiring to drink several liters of water, this is suitable. Also treats summerheat toxicity in summer, with sweating, aversion to cold, body heat, and thirst. Treats numbness in the mouth, aversion to cold on the back, with efficacy. For combined disease of Three Yangs, with abdominal fullness, heavy body, greasy complexion, delirium, and urinary incontinence, sweating and purging are contraindicated; give small amounts, effective.
Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (1 jin) Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) (6 liang) Gancao (Licorice, 2 liang)

Or Cold Damage showing Wind pulse, Wind Strike showing Cold pulse, with injury to Ying and Wei, used for irritability. If pulse is weak and faint with sweating and aversion to wind, taking this causes cold limbs and muscle twitching, which is adverse.
