Harvesting the Qi of the Yangming Meridian by meeting the pathogen; in the month of late summer (the sixth lunar month), add Fangji (Stephaniae Radix), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), and Fuling (Poria) each two liang to the base formula, to overcome the dampness of the Spleen Earth; after the Great Heat of early autumn, add Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), Huoxiang (Agastaches Herba), and Gui (Cinnamomi Ramulus) each one liang to the base formula, to harvest the Qi of the Taiyin Meridian; after the Frost Descent in winter, add Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Guigui (Cinnamomi Ramulus) each one liang, and Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) two liang to the base formula, to overcome the Qi of the Shaoyin Meridian. If spring climatic conditions are encountered, reduce the additions made for winter; the variations for the four seasons are similar. Although these seasonal modifications are established, at the time of treating a patient, it is further necessary to examine the deficiency or excess, cold or heat, the suitability of the geographical region, and the degree of the pathogen. This medicine interacts with the Seven Emotions, Six Desires, and Four Qi, without causing an excess in any of the Five Zang Organs, nor disturbing the Ying and Wei Qi. For wind-induced constipation (Fengmi), taking it will prevent dryness and impaction forever. This medicine works in conjunction with Tianma Wan as interior-exterior counterparts, serving as a supreme medicine for preventing disease before it arises. If the disease has already occurred, it is even more advisable to take it regularly, regardless of gender or age. It is highly effective for conditions such as convulsive epilepsy, acute and chronic infantile convulsions, and seasonal colds.
