(Attached Method for Sterilization)
If a woman is obese, has a strong constitution, and indulges in alcohol and food, with irregular menstruation and inability to conceive, this is called "excess body fat overflowing, blocking the uterus." The treatment should involve resolving dampness and drying phlegm, using *Arisaema Cum Bile* (Niuxing), Pinellia (*Banxia*), Atractylodes (*Cangzhu*), Ligusticum (*Taixiong*), Saposhnikovia (*Fangfeng*), Notopterygium (*Qianghuo*), Talc (*Huashi*), or similar formulas such as Daotan Tang. If a person is emaciated and irritable, with irregular menstruation and inability to conceive, this is called "dry and astringent uterus without blood, unable to receive spermatic qi." The treatment should involve cooling blood and descending fire, or adding Cyperus (*Xiangfu*), Scutellaria (*Huangqin*), and Bupleurum (*Chaihu*) to Siwu Tang, along with herbs that nourish blood and yin. Li Dongyuan's Liuwei Dihuang Wan is used to supplement insufficient yin-blood in women. Those without children who take this can achieve pregnancy. It comes from *Shixiao Fang*.
Sterilization Method: Use one sheng of wheat dough starter (*Baifianqu*) and five sheng of unadulterated wine (*Wuhuijiu*) to make a paste, boil until reduced to two and a half sheng, filter out the dregs, and divide into three doses. Take one dose on the evening before menstruation arrives, another at wugeng (3-5 AM) the next morning, and the last at dawn. Menstruation will cease, and she will be sterile for life.
Infants often suffer from diseases caused by damp-heat, food stagnation, and phlegm-heat damaging the milk, mostly involving the Liver and Spleen. Infants are prone to anger, so Liver disorders are most common, just as in adults. Liver qi is merely in excess, while Kidney qi is merely deficient.
When an infant is first born and has not yet eaten or drunk milk, quickly take one cun of Licorice (*Gancao*), roast it finely over fire, place it on the ground to remove fire toxicity for about one hour, add one small cup of water, boil until reduced to one-third, filter out the dregs, dip new cotton in the liquid, and drip it into the infant's mouth to swallow. Soon, phlegm and stasis blood will be vomited up, after which milk and food can be given. For older children who know their skin has no disease...
For infant acute and chronic convulsions (*Jingfeng*), presenting with fever, locked jaw, latent heat in palms, phlegm-heat, cough, and wheezing, these syndromes should all be treated with the vomiting method. For severe cases, use Gudi San; for mild cases, use powder of Sophora (*Kushen*) and Adzuki Bean (*Chixiaodou*), mixed with shrimp sauce juice. Afterwards, use Tongsheng San as powder, made into honey pills. Occasionally, use "Niu'er" (caterpillar fungus) from mulberry trees, dried in shade, roasted, powdered, and taken to calm qi. There are two types of convulsions: one is heat-phlegm, leading to acute convulsions, which should be treated by vomiting and purging; the other is Spleen deficiency, leading to chronic convulsions, which often results in death, so the Spleen must be nourished. Acute convulsions only require descending fire, eliminating phlegm, and nourishing blood; chronic convulsions first require strengthening Spleen earth, then dispersing wind pathogens, using only Zhusha Anshen Wan, seeking further efficacy among blood-nourishing herbs.
If an infant suddenly cries out loudly without cause, it indicates certain death. This is because excessive fire depletes qi.

[Appendix] Pediatric Gan disease occurs because pediatric organs are delicate and easily injured by fullness. Feeding and diet, if irregular, rarely fail to cause Gan. Gan arises from improper milk/food intake and unregulated sweet/greasy foods. Or infants lack milk, eat porridge too early, consuming form and qi, creating the root of Gan. Over years, five types of Gan form. Severe cases present with chest depression, wheezing/hiccuping, direct passage of milk/food, swelling/fullness/diarrhea, abdominal/flank pain, purple skin sores, shiny purple muscles, Gan consumption/thirst/diarrhea, withered face/deadly complexion, exposed bones/open teeth, hard abdomen/no appetite—all critical conditions.
