For infants born after the tenth month, if they exhibit listlessness and physical flaccidity or numbness (Wei Bi), burn *Vespertilio* (bat) to ash, grind it finely, and administer half a qian with rice gruel or drink, five times daily. If roasted fragrant and cooked, feeding it in the evening is also beneficial. For infants with soft head and neck, powder *Acanthopanacis Senticosi Cortex* (Wujia Pi), mix with wine, and apply to the cervical vertebrae.
Infantile body heat: Take stir-fried *Paeoniae Radix Alba* (Baishao), *Cyperi Rhizoma* (Xiangfu), *Talcum* (Huashi) each 1 liang, *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao) 3 qian, *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin) 1 qian. Divide into four doses. Each dose decocted with three slices of ginger and one and a half cups of water, administered to the nursing mother. For night sweats and tidal fever, take equal parts of *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huanglian) and *Bupleuri Radix* (Chaihu), make honey pills the size of chicken beans, dissolve two pills in wine per dose. For infants aged one to five months presenting with alternating chills and fever, administer juice extracted from roasted winter melon (*Benincasae Exocarpium*). This method also relieves thirst in adults. For infantile skin heat, decoct *Bupleuri Radix* (Shengma), *Puerariae Radix* (Gegen), *Paeoniae Radix*, *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma* (Baizhu), *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao), *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin), *Bupleuri Radix* (Chaihu), *Poria* (Fuling) as a soup for administration.
Infantile phlegm-heat causing bone-steaming consumption: Take *Chenpi* (aged tangerine peel) 2 qian, *Pinelliae Tuber* (Banxia) 2 qian, *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao) 5 qian, *Poria* (Fuling) 3 qian, *Bupleuri Radix* (Shengma) 2 qian, *Puerariae Radix* (Gegen) and *Paeoniae Radix Alba* (Baishao) each 1.5 qian, *Panax Ginseng* (Renshen) 1 qian, *Schisandrae Fructus* (Wuweizi) 30 berries. Prepare as three packets, decoct with ginger and jujube for administration. This condition arises because the mother has qi deficiency and excessive internal heat. Combine *Siwu Tang* (Four Substances Decoction) with *Sijunzi Tang* (Four Gentlemen Decoction); add wine-fried *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huanglian) and raw *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao) if heat signs are present, decoct and administer. Externally, apply powder of *Ampelopsis Japonica Radix* (Bailian) and bind tightly with soft cloth.
Swelling and hardness of external genitalia and yin sores: Apply powder of *Pheretima* (Dilong/earthworm) mixed with saliva. For scrotal prolapse (Tuonang) characterized by swelling, decoct *Akebiae Caulis* (Mutong), *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao), *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huanglian), *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui), and *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin) for administration. Another prescription: apply powder of *Perillae Folium* (Zisu Ye) mixed with water, wrap with lotus leaf. For painful swelling of the scrotum, mix raw *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao) juice with earthworm feces and apply gently. For pain and swelling of the scrotum caused by earthworm toxicity, take half a liang of *Cicadae Periostracum* (Chantui), decoct with one bowl of water for washing; pain stops immediately, then administer *Wuling San* (Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria). For rectal prolapse (Tuogang), soak soil from walls in the northeast direction in water to make a decoction, fumigate first, then wash. For "wooden tongue" (Mu She - swollen and stiff tongue) and double tongue (Chong She), puncture with a needle to release blood for cure. Dai Yun states: Wooden tongue refers to swelling and stiffness without softness. He further notes such cases are generally heat diseases; apply powder of *Artemisia Argyi Carbonis* (Baicaoshuang), *Talcum* (Huashi), and *Mirabilite* (Mangxiao) mixed with wine. Geophagia (eating mud) indicates toxic heat in the stomach; decoct *Alumen Rubrum* (Ruanshiyao), *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin), *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao), and *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma* (Baizhu) for administration. For tortoise chest (Guixiong - pectus carinatum/deformity), use *Atractylodis Rhizoma* (Cangzhu), wine-fried *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huangbai), wine-fried *Paeoniae Radix* (Shaoyao), *Chenpi*, *Saposhnikoviae Radix* (Fangfeng), *Spirit Pea Vine Stem* (Weilingxian), *Crataegi Fructus* (Shanzha), *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui). Add *Rehmanniae Radix Preparata* (Shengdihuang) if occurring after dysentery. For tortoise back (Guibei - kyphosis), apply urine from a turtle to the spinal joints. The method: place a turtle on a lotus leaf, wait until it looks around, quickly shine a mirror at its head, and its urine will flow out. To treat neonatal dysentery (Taili), crack an egg, discard the white, keep the yolk, add one qian of *Minium* (Huandan), seal with yellow mud, roast in fire until dry, and administer with rice drink. To treat white diarrhea (Baixie), mix one qian of *Realgar* (Xionghuang) with eight qian of fried flour, uniform mixture, administer with ginger soup. To treat white alopecia capitis (Baitu Chuang), use *Tongsheng San* (Universal Rescuing Powder) minus *Natrii Sulfas* (Xiaoshi), process with wine, powder, and administer to induce sweating. For eel venom attacking the head, first decoct wind-exposed grass and *Xanthii Fructus* (Canger Cao) from walls, quench in charcoal fire, wash, then apply medicine dominated by *Pini Resina* (Songxiang). To treat ringworm of the scalp (Laitou), apply horse fat from the twelfth lunar month. Another method: treat ringworm by mixing red and white charcoal with running water, heating, and washing. Also administer powdered *Tongsheng San* processed with wine; *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Dahuang) separately wine-fried. Other ingredients: *Coriandri Fructus* (Husui Zi), *Xuanlongwei* (dust from beams), *Longgu Fossilia* (Fulonggan), *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huanglian), *Alumen* (BaiFan) are powdered and applied. Powder all; sprinkle dry powder if wet, mix with oil if dry. Infants often cry upon birth; if umbilicus suddenly bleeds, apply fine powder of *Halloysitum Rubrum* (Baishizhi). If not healed, reapply after frying; do not peel off cold patches. To treat chronic non-healing umbilicus in infants, apply baked *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui) powder to the umbilicus; applicable even if pus or clear fluid discharges, or if urine enters causing sores. Another method: apply powder of *Alumen Usticum* (Baikufan). Or apply *Longgu Fossilia* (Fulonggan) mixed with *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huangbai) powder. Another method: apply equal parts of *Alumen* (Baifan) and *Os Draconis* (Bailonggu) as powder. Alternatively, cotton seed ash may be used sparingly.
