For elderly individuals with physical decline and frailty, suffering from phlegm-qi obstruction manifesting as wheezing and coughing, chest fullness, and difficulty eating, these conditions should not be treated as ordinary diseases. Recklessly administering decoctions will deplete the True Qi (Zhen Qi). These two formulas (referring to the Sanzi Yangqin Decoction mentioned previously and the formula described in this section) are effective upon trial.

Perilla Seed (Zi Su Zi), which primarily treats wheezing and coughing; White Mustard Seed (Bai Jie Zi), which primarily treats resolving phlegm, directing qi downward, and relieving chest fullness; Radish Seed (Bai Luo Bo Zi), which primarily treats food stagnation and regulating qi. Wash each of the above three herbs separately on paper, stir-fry lightly until crushed, and determine the dosage based on the predominant symptoms: use more for the primary condition and less for secondary ones. Take 3 qian per dose. Place them in a bag made of raw silk, add half a zhong of water, boil until bubbling, and take immediately. If boiled for too long, the taste becomes bitter and pungent, causing bitterness in the mouth. If constipation is present, add one spoonful of cooked honey. If constipation is severe, remove Perilla Seed, reduce the amount of White Mustard Seed, and add small Sesame Seeds.

To treat post-varicella scars, wind-induced prickles, and facial grease/dirt.
Angelica Dahurica Root (Bai Zhi), White Morning Glory Seed (Bai Qian Niu), Black Morning Glory Seed (Hei Qian Niu) — all using the first powder; Yunu Powder (Yu Nu Fen); Yan Tiao (Goose strip/preparation); Bai Ding Xiang (White Musk Flower/Buckthorn? *Note: Contextual herbal name*); Poria Cocos (Bai Fu Ling); Lead Monoxide (Mi Tuo Seng); White Sandalwood (Bai Tan); Smilax Glabra Rhizome (Bai Lian); Bletilla Striata Tuber (Bai Ji); Aconitum Carmichaelii Lateral Root (Bai Fu Zi). (All in equal proportions).
Grind the above into a fine powder, mix with egg white to form pills, and dry in the shade. Apply at night by mixing with saliva and rubbing onto the face.

To treat body greasiness, foul odor, and oral/tooth odor.
Clove (Ding Xiang) (1.5 liang); Agastache Rugosa Herb (Huo Xiang); Ling Ling Xiang (Fragrant herb); Sweet Fern (Gan Song) (each 2 liang); Angelica Dahurica Root (Bai Zhi); Cyperus Rotundus Rhizome (Xiang Fu); Chinese Angelica Root (Dang Gui); Cinnamon Twig (Gui Xin); Areca Seed (Bing Lang); Alpinia Oxyphylla Fruit (Yi Zhi); Musk (She Xiang) (5 qian); White Cardamom Seed (Bai Dou Kou) (2 liang).
Pound finely refined honey with the herbs a thousand times, and shape into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Dissolve one pill in the mouth per dose; after twenty days, an unusual fragrance will appear.

Grind Groundcherry Root Bark (Di Gu Pi) and Safflower Flower (Hong Hua) together into a fine powder. Apply to the painful area of corns (or even if ulcers have formed). Scabs will form the next day, which is favorable.

The disease known as "Bo Zhen Du" in children, commonly called rash (Zhen Zi), is caused by heat in the Lung. The accumulation of heat-toxin in the Lung and Stomach, combined with seasonal epidemic qi, steams and erupts onto the skin, resembling bites from mosquitoes or fleas, resulting in redness throughout the body. For those developing red rashes, one out of ten survives; for those developing black rashes, only one out of ten survives.
*Lei Zheng* states: The heat accumulated in the zang-fu organs differs, leading to different manifestations in the exterior and interior. In pediatric seasonal epidemics, symptoms include heavy coughing, thick sticky sputum and nasal discharge, red eye sockets, irritability, fever, dryness, and thirst. This indicates heat-toxin accumulation in the Lung and Stomach. When the heat-toxin erupts, it easily emerges to the surface, spreading over the skin like miliaria vesicles, appearing and then gradually fading. The pathology is in the exterior, and the toxin invasion is shallow. This is named Zhen Zi (Rash), also known as Fu Chuang (Skin Ulcer/Rash). Alternatively, if seasonal toxic qi accumulates and heat steams internally, the pathology is in the interior, and the toxin invasion is deep. It erupts on the skin, resembling brocade patterns or flea bites, with marks similar in size to small beans, either red or black. This is named Sha (or specific type of rash). There is also a condition in children called Water Pox (Shui Dou), which differs from regular Smallpox (Zheng Dou). It appears and resolves easily. It should not be treated with drying and warming methods; although warming does not cause major harm, it prevents scabbing, leading to ulceration.
