Treats wind-stroke from broken skin (Pòshāngfēng, a condition caused by trauma allowing wind-toxin to enter the body) invading from the exterior into the interior.
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Gaoben (Ligustici Rhizoma et Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) (each 2 liang), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) (5 qian).
The above herbs are coarsely crushed. For each dose of 1 liang, decoct in water and take hot orally through the mouth.
Treats broken skin injuries as well as wounds from metal blades, contusions from falls or blows, and bites from mad dogs.
Tiannanxing (Arisaematis Rhizoma), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) (equal amounts).
The above herbs are ground into powder. Apply the powder to the wound, then mix with warm wine and take 1 qian orally. If there is trismus (lockjaw) or opisthotonos (arched back), use 2 qian mixed with urine from an uncircumcised boy (Tongbian) for administration. For severe beating injuries where death seems imminent, provided there is slight warmth at the heart region, administer 2 qian via Tongbian, followed by two additional doses. The toxicity of Tiannanxing is restrained by Fangfeng, so it does not cause numbness.
Treats wounds broken by mad dog bites. First, rinse the wound with holding water (Jiangshui, fermented rice water), wipe dry with cotton, and apply the paste; this prevents pus formation and ulceration.
Another prescription: Powder for treating wind-stroke from broken skin.
Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) (charred until carbonized but retaining nature), Caowu (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix) (equal amounts).
Grind into powder, mix with hot wine, and take 2 qian. After sweating occurs, rest in a draft-free area.
Treats wind-stroke from broken skin where the pathogen is half in the exterior and half in the interior.
Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos), Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba), Fu Ling (Poria), Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Manjingzi (Vittaginis Fructus), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus) (each 1 liang).
For each dose of 1 liang, add 2 zhong of water and 5 slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), decoct together. Take hot orally through the mouth. Decoct the dregs again and take them to induce sweating.
Treats wind-stroke from broken skin with continuous profuse sweating, muscle spasms, and convulsions.
Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) (each 5 qian), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (7.5 qian).
For each dose of 1 liang, decoct in water and take orally.

Grind the above herbs into fine powder, make pills using wine paste, sized like wutong seeds. Take 10 pills per dose, washed down with warm wine.
Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma) (1 liang), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) (6 qian), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (2 qian).
Take 5-7 qian per dose, decoct in water and take orally.
Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma) (0.5 liang), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (each 1 liang).
Take 1 liang per dose, decoct in water and take orally. Recovery follows naturally after purgation; highly effective.
Another prescription: Extremely effective for treating wind-stroke from broken skin. At the first sign of wind invasion, urgently take 1-2 larvae of *Otiorhynchus sulcatus* (Qilao, grubs) from a hot manure pile. Hold the larva in hand until it exudes a small amount of fluid from its mouth, then smear this onto the broken skin injury. Wear slightly thick clothing. After a short while, when the wound feels numb and slight sweat appears on both flanks, the wind pathogen will be expelled, yielding immediate results. If the wind pathogen is urgent, quickly take 3-5 such larvae, cut off their tails, apply the yellow fluid from their abdomens to the wound, and drip a little into hot wine to drink. Sweating ensues with miraculous effect. When sweating is already present, one must strictly avoid fright.
Another prescription: Char fish glue until carbonized but retaining nature, grind finely, mix with hot wine, and take 1 qian; effective.
Another prescription: Treats knife or axe wounds that sever sinews and collaterals. Use a young rooster, remove skin, feathers, intestines, and stomach, boil until half-cooked, and prepare as vinegar. Take regularly on an empty stomach, washed down with wine; capable of reconnecting sinews and bones.
Another prescription: Treats wind-stroke from broken skin penetrating into the interior.
Tiannanxing (Arisaematis Rhizoma), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), Chuanwu (Aconiti Radix), Caowu (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix), Tianma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma) (each 2 qian), Zhusha (Cinnabar), Xionghuang (Realgar) (each 1 qian).
Grind the above herbs into powder. Take 1 qian per dose in a draft-free area, mixed with hot wine. Recovery occurs after sweating.
