For those who are thin with internal fire and dry blood, remove Cangzhu and Zexie, and add Angelica Sinensis Radix (Danggui) and White Peony Root (Baishaoyao, wine-fried) each 7 fen for better effect. Banxia is drying in nature and should not be taken for a long time; substitute with Fritillaria Cirrhosa Bulb (Beimu) 1 qian. Imperata Cylindrica Rhizome (Zhishi) has powerful phlegm-resolving properties; add 5-6 fen.
If Fire descends, Phlegm will dissipate on its own; add Gardenia Fruit (Shanzhizi) 5 fen. (Shanzhi can descend Fire, expelling it through urination.)

For newly acquired cases, the main treatment is moving Qi, descending Fire, and resolving Phlegm. For chronic cases, the main treatment is tonifying Qi and Blood, and smoothing Qi.
If headache is severe as if splitting, moxa Baihui (GV20) and Shangxing (GV23) each 5 cones. Acupuncture Taiyuan (LU9) and Lieque (LU7), using reducing method. For all Phlegm diseases, inducing vomiting is superior; drinking Sparrow Tongue Tea (Queshe Cha) to induce vomiting is excellent, but not suitable for those with deficiency. When I was a child, I suffered from acute convulsions (Jijing Feng). I took many prescriptions but did not recover for a long time. After age nine, it transformed into Phlegm Jue. My headache felt like my head was shattering, and vertigo was severe. I took many phlegm-resolving agents but saw no effect. Gradually, I became emaciated, with skin clinging to bones. Regarding the treatment of Phlegm Jue, I had no time to discuss, but my Qi and Blood were depleted, making support difficult. Thus, I took Bawu Erchen Decoction (Eight Substances and Two Ingredients Decoction) for over fifty doses. My skin and flesh slightly improved, and the disease condition naturally subsided, sparing me from becoming disabled. The ancients said: "When Righteous Qi is substantial, Evil Qi retreats." This is what they meant.
