(This method can also dispel diseases, also known as Ba Duan Jin / Eight Section Brocade.)
Close your eyes and quiet your mind while sitting; clasp your fists firmly and calmly contemplate your spirit.
Closing the eyes and quieting the mind aims primarily at achieving stillness. The sitting posture involves bending the heel of the left foot to press against the moving area below the root of the kidneys, preventing the leakage of essence through the essence aperture; this is called "Wogu" (Clasping the Solid).
Click the teeth thirty-six times; hold both hands to embrace the Kunlun.
The head and face are referred to as "Kunlun." Cross both hands behind the crown of the head, count nine breaths, and do not let the ears hear the sound.
Ring the heavenly drums on the left and right, hearing it twenty-four times.
Move both palms to cover the two ears; first, use the second finger to press the middle finger and flick against the back of the head, doing this twenty-four times on each side.
Slightly sway and shake the Heavenly Pillar.
Shake the head looking left and right, rotate the shoulders, twenty-four times.
The Red Dragon stirs the water essence.
The "Red Dragon" refers to the tongue. Use the tongue to stir around the teeth and the left and right cheeks until saliva is generated in the mouth.
Rinse with saliva thirty-six times; the divine water fills the mouth evenly; swallow in three parts from one mouthful, the Dragon moves and the Tiger runs freely.
Fluid is the Dragon, Qi is the Tiger.
Hold the breath and rub hands until hot.
Inhale clear Qi through the nose, hold it for a short moment, rub hands vigorously until extremely hot, then slowly exhale through the nose.
Rub the back of the Jing Gate (Essence Gate).
The "Jing Gate" refers to the external kidneys located at the lower back. After rubbing with cupped palms, withdraw hands and clasp them firmly.
Exhaust this one breath; visualize fire burning the Navel Wheel.
Hold the breath, visualize heart Fire burning down into the Dantian (Lower Elixir Field), feeling extreme heat, then proceed to the next method. The Dantian is located 1.3 cun below the navel wheel.
Rotate the pulley left and right; extend both legs comfortably.
Bow the head and sway/shake both shoulders thirty-six times, then spread both legs straight and relaxed.
Cross hands and lift into empty space; bow head and frequently climb feet.
First cross hands and lift upward into empty space three times, then use both hands to reach forward and grasp the soles of the feet twelve times, then return feet to sit upright.
Wait for the reverse water to rise.
If saliva is not generated in the throat, use the stirring water method again.
Rinse and swallow saliva again; after completing this three times, swallow the divine water nine times.
This means rinsing thirty-six times again, swallowing in three parts as before, totaling nine swallows.
Swallowing with a sound harmonizes all meridians; after the He Che (River Cart) transport is complete, fire spreads burning the whole body.
Shake shoulders and body twenty-four times, and rotate the pulley twenty-four times more; visualize the Dantian fire burning from bottom to top throughout the body. During visualization, close mouth and nose and hold breath for a short moment.
Evil spirits dare not approach; dreams cannot cause confusion; cold and heat cannot enter; disasters and diseases cannot invade.
Perform after Zi hour and before Wu hour; creation and transformation combine Heaven and Earth; cycling sequentially turns, the Eight Trigrams are the good cause.
Follow the Jiazi cycle, starting practice at midnight Zi hour. No air should exit the mouth. Only release clear Qi slightly through the nose. Perform once after Zi hour and once before Wu hour each day. However, this is an ability of cultivators seeking immortality. Ordinary people busy with affairs need not be rigidly bound by this; simply find a time during the day when the body is idle and the mind is quiet, which is where the practice begins. The amount can vary according to circumstances.
