To soothe the five Zang organs (Wu Zang), eliminate a hundred diseases, harmonize the Spleen and Stomach, tonify deficiency and damage, secure the Original Qi (Yuan Qi), and solidify essence and marrow. It can make the emaciated fat and the elderly vigorous. Long-term administration yields excellent results.
Take beef from a yellow ox (Huangjian Niurou), any quantity. Remove fascia and sinews, cut into large pieces the size of chessmen. Wash several times with river water until the blood taste is completely gone. Soak in river water overnight. The next day, wash one or two more times until the water runs clear. Place unadulterated good wine in a clay jar, seal tightly with thick mud. Boil using mulberry wood fire, alternating between mild and strong heat, for one night. Take out, dry by baking, and grind into powder. Powder resembling yellow sand is best; charred black powder is useless. For every one jin of beef powder, add the following herbs to total two jin:
Chinese Yam (Shanyao) (sliced, stir-fried with scallion and salt until yellow, discard scallion and salt), Poria (Baifuling) (peeled, ground into powder,筋 removed via water flotation method, dried), Lotus Seed (Lianrou) (stir-fried with scallion and salt, remove heart, scallion, and salt), Atractylodes Macrocephala (Baizhu) (select white ones, avoid yellow-black ones, stir-fried with aged earth until yellow, remove earth), Euryale Seed Powder (Qianshi Fen) (shelled and cleaned), Coix Seed (Yiyiren) (stir-fried), White Hyacinth Bean (Baibiandou) (stir-fried with ginger juice, half jin each), Ginseng (Renshen) (remove rhizome, 4 liang), Fennel (Xiaohuixiang) (remove stems, lightly stir-fried, 4 liang), Dried Ginger (Ganjiang) (stir-fried, 4 liang), Amomum Fruit (Sharen) (stir-fried, 2 liang), Sichuan Pepper (Chuanjiao) (remove eyes, stir-fried until sweat appears, remove closed-mouth peppers, 2 liang), Green Salt (Qingyan, 4 liang), Licorice Root (Gancao) (honey-fried, 4 liang), Smoked Plum Flesh (Wumei Rou, 2 liang, boiled into thick juice, half ou), Japonica Rice (Jingmi) (stir-fried until yellow, cleaned, powder taken, 5.5 jin).
Grind the above herbs into powder. Mix evenly with rice powder and beef powder. Externally, take five jin of small red dates and five jin of aged mellow wine. Boil the dates until extremely soft, remove skin and pits, pound into paste. Add two and a half jin of refined honey.
Mix all together to form pills the size of bullet seeds. Take two pills each time, regardless of temperature, chew and swallow with warm water or broth. Administer three to five times daily. One will never feel hunger. This formula represents the profound application of the "Kingly Way" (Wangdao) in nourishment. Prepare it in advance during peaceful times to survive famine and hardship even if one does not eat for one or two months, without damaging the stomach's Original Qi. Treasure it greatly. If thirsty, drink only cold water.
This formula is also mild and reasonable but has not been clinically tested.
Soybean (Dadou) (five sheng, washed clean, skins removed, steamed three times, ground into fine powder), Hemp Seed (Dama Zi) (five sheng, soaked in hot water overnight, filtered, steamed three times until shells open, skins removed, ground into powder), Glutinous Rice (Nuomi) (five sheng, washed clean, steamed together with Poria until cooked, dried, ground into powder), Poria (Baifuling) (peeled, steamed together with Japonica Rice until cooked, dried, ground into powder).
Grind the hemp seed powder into a paste like mud. Gradually mix in the soybean powder. Form into balls the size of fists. Steam in a steamer. Apply heat starting at You hour (5-7 PM), stop heating at Zi hour (11 PM-1 AM). Take out at Yin hour (3-5 AM). Dry from Chen hour (7-9 AM) to Wu hour (11 AM-1 PM). Grind into powder. Take orally until satiated. Do not consume any other foods. Swallow with hemp seed juice. After the first dose, one will not feel hungry for one month. After the second dose, forty days without hunger. After the third dose, one thousand days without hunger. After the fourth dose, eternal freedom from hunger. Complexion improves daily, strength doubles. If thirsty, drinking hemp seed juice will quench thirst further and moisten the five Zang organs. If one desires to eat, use three he of Malva Seed (Kuizi) powder, decoct in water, cool, and drink to resolve the effects of the fasting medicine. Initially, consume white rice gruel for three days, four to five times a day, in small amounts. After three days, there are no dietary restrictions. When taking this medicine and abstaining from food, sexual intercourse is strictly forbidden, but otherwise no taboos apply. This is a supreme treasure for immortals to transcend the world. Do not neglect it lightly.
