It can generate body fluids, nourish blood, ascend kidney water, descend heart fire, clear the heart, and brighten the eyes. This formula is based on the principle of "Heaven generates one for Water, Earth generates two for Fire." The herbs are light in nature but possess great efficacy; long-term administration yields rapid results. It is a sovereign remedy (Wangdao zhi yao), unsurpassed by any other. It is extremely effective for individuals with excess above and deficiency below (Shang sheng xia xu).

Chuanxiong Rhizome (Xuanxiong) (Select large, white rhizomes, wash clean; small ones are not used); Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui) (Use the whole root, soak in good wine for three days, wash clean, and dry); Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao) (Soak in good wine for one day, then dry); Lycii Fructus (Gouqizi) from Ganzhou (Remove stems); Ligustri Lucidi Fructus (Nvzhenzi) (Also known as Ilex cornuta fruit, harvested on the Winter Solstice, mixed with honey water, steamed and dried nine times, processed clean, 4 liang each); Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (Shudihuang) from Huaiqing (8 liang: half is processed with 1 liang of Amomi Fructus [Sharen] placed at the bottom of a jar in a silk bag, boiled dry with two bowls of wine, discard Sharen; the other half is processed with 2 liang of Poria [Fuling] ground into powder, boiled dry with one bowl of wine as before, discard Fuling); Chrysanthemi Flos (Juhua) from Ganzhou (Remove stems and leaves; cultivated varieties are used, wild chrysanthemum is not used, processed clean, 2 liang); Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai) from Sichuan (Remove coarse bark, processed clean, 8 liang total: 2 liang soaked in wine, 2 liang soaked in salt water, 2 liang soaked in human milk, 2 liang soaked in honey, each soaked for one day and night, dried, and stir-fried until brown); Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (Zhimu) (Select plump ones, 8 liang, processed by four methods, treated together with Huangbai).

The above nine ingredients are processed according to standard procedures, mixed together, spread out, exposed to sunlight during the day and dew at night for three days and nights to absorb the essence of heaven and earth and the radiance of the sun and moon. Then, grind into fine powder, mix with refined honey, and make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 80-90 pills per dose, on an empty stomach, washed down with boiling water containing roasted salt.

To tonify deficiency and brighten the eyes: I use this combination myself with excellent results.
Chrysanthemi Flos (Juhua) (Cultivated, remove stems and leaves, processed clean); Dendrobii Caulis (Shihu) (Remove roots); Acanthopanacis Cortex (Wujiaopi) (Remove woody parts, wash); Biota Semen (Baiziren) (Remove shells, stir-fry); Cuscutae Semen (Tusizi) (Boil, mash into cakes, dry); Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu) (Stir-fry with soil); Cistanches Herba (Roucongrong) (Remove heart and membrane); Morinda Officinalis Radix (Bajitian) from Sichuan (Remove heart); Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen) (Remove rhizome/lu head); Cervi Cornus Colla (Lujiaojiao) (2 liang each).

Grind the above ingredients into powder. Melt the Cervi Cornus Colla in wine, add refined honey, and make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 99 pills per dose, on an empty stomach, washed down with boiling plain water.

The five viscera of the human body correspond to the Five Elements of Heaven. If any one is out of harmony, it leads to disaster and disease. Medicines have five flavors, each governing a specific viscus, thereby harmonizing the body; thus, it is called Taiji Wan.
Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai) (Belongs to Water, governs nourishing Kidney Water. Processed by hardening essence method: remove skin, soak in salt and wine for three days, stir-fry until brown, grind into powder, net weight 3 liang 6 qian); Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (Zhimu) (Belongs to Metal, governs clearing Lung Metal. Processed by descending fire method: assists Huangbai to achieve Metal generating Water; remove skin, soak in wine overnight, stir-fry dry, grind into powder, net weight 2 liang 4 qian); Psoraleae Fructus (Poguzhi/Buguzhi) (Belongs to Fire, governs astringing spirit and mind, allowing Heart Protector fire to connect with Mingmen fire, thereby solidifying Yuan Qi and filling bone marrow. Astringency removes leakage. Stir-fry on new tiles until fragrant, grind into powder, net weight 2 liang 8 qian); Juglandis Semen (Hetaoren) (Belongs to Wood, governs moistening blood and qi. Blood belongs to Yin, which dislikes dryness, so oil is used to moisten it. Assisting Buguzhi creates the wonder of Wood generating Fire. Medical texts state: "Without Zhimu, Huangbai is like plants without leaves; without Buguzhi, Hetaoren is like plants without leaves." Remove skin, grind into paste when other powders are ready, net weight 3 liang 2 qian, mix into the compound); Amomi Fructus (Sharen) (Belongs to Earth, awakens spleen, opens orifices, guides other herbs downward to tonify Dantian. Its fragrance penetrates and harmonizes the harmonious qi of the five viscera, just as Earth serves as the harmonious qi of heaven and earth. Remove shells: take 5 qian, stir-fry thoroughly with 1 liang of Zanthoxyli Fructus [Chuanjiao], discard Jiao; take another 5 qian without frying. Grind all into fine powder, net weight 1 liang).

Process each of the above five ingredients into powder separately, mix evenly, combine with refined honey, and make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 70 pills per dose, washed down with boiling plain water or wine as preferred. Take morning and evening. Long-term consumption yields indescribable effects; lifelong use may lead to becoming a "Earth Immortal" (Dixian). However, it is not suitable for those with phlegm-fire caused by rich and greasy diets.
