If one desires to eat, avoid overeating for one or two days, lest the Stomach be injured again, as the medicinal power is still weak and Stomach Qi cannot transport and ascend. Use light and delicious foods to assist the medicinal power, raising floating Qi to nourish Stomach Qi. Do not consume bland foods that damage medicinal power and aid the sinking of pathogenic factors.
Engage in mild physical activity to allow the Stomach and medicine to transport and ascend. Avoid excessive labor that injures Qi again; tranquility for the Spleen and Stomach is especially good. If Stomach Qi is slightly strong, eat small amounts of fruit to assist grain and medicine. The Classics say: "Five grains for nourishment, five fruits for assistance."
