Treats broken acne carbuncles (acne-like sores); apply this powder into the wound. Another prescription adds 5 li of Borneolum Syntheticum (Bingpian, 冰片).

Burn seven pearls over fire, stir-fry in a pan sized like a Wanda bean, add an unspecified amount of ash from male hair, and adding genuine Zicao (Radix Arnebiae / Lithospermi) is very effective.

Treatment is the same as above.
Realgar (Xionghuang, 雄黄) (3 qian) Arnebiae Radix (Zicao, 紫草) (3 qian) Grind together into powder, mix with oil-based rouge.

For post-acne abscesses/toxicity presenting with initial redness and swelling. Use three types of beans: Black Bean, Green Mung Bean, and Red Adzuki Bean. Soak in vinegar, grind into paste, and frequently brush onto the area with a goose feather; it will recede promptly.

Treats persistent ulceration of acne spots. Use rotten thatch grass stalks, quantity unrestricted. Select old thatch used for roofing walls for many years, as it has long absorbed the essence of heaven, earth, sun, moon, rain, dew, wind, and frost, possessing strong capabilities to resolve sore toxicity, though its merits are hard to fully describe. Sun-dry or bake, grind into fine powder, and apply to sores; or spread on mats for the child to sit or lie upon, yielding miraculous results.

Treats post-acne erosive sores with continuous purulent discharge. Use silkworm cocoons, quantity unrestricted. Fill raw alum (Mingfan, 明矾) inside until full, burn until juices evaporate and turn to ash, grind into powder, and sprinkle on the lesion.

Treats post-acne condition where the whole body lacks skin and purulent discharge persists. Select tea leaves, removing all coarse stems. Boil in water, remove, lay wet on the bed, place a layer of straw paper between, and let the child sleep overnight; the purulent discharge will dry up.

Treats acne toxicity attacking the eyes causing eyelid swelling and blood vessels obscuring the pupil.
Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong, 川芎) Angelica Sinensis Radix Tail (Guiwei, 归尾) Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng, 防风) Notopterygium Root (Qianghuo, 羌活) Mint Leaf (Bohe, 薄荷) Gardenia Fruit (Zhizi, 栀子) Licorice Root (Gancao, 甘草) Equal parts of each. Decoct in water and take after meals.

Treats acne entering the eyes, or formation of corneal opacities/nebulae.
Rabbit Feces (Tufen, 兔粪) (4 liang, stir-fried) Abalone Shell (Shijueming, 石决明) (Use those with seven holes, fire-roasted, 1 liang) Cassia Seed (Caocaoming, 草决明) (1 liang) Equisetum Hiemale Stem (Muzei, 木贼) (remove nodes, 1 liang) White Peony Root (Baishao, 白芍) (1 liang) Angelica Sinensis Radix (Jiuniu, soaked in wine, 5 qian) Saposhnikovia Root (Qu Lu, remove rhizome, 1 liang) Eyebright Herb (Gujingcao, 谷精草) (2 qian) Grind into powder. Form pills with honey the size of mung beans. Take dozens of pills per dose, washed down with Schizonepeta Decoction (Jingjie Tang, 荆芥汤). Another method: bake rabbit feces until dry, grind into powder, form pills with honey the size of beans. Take 20-30 pills per dose, washed down with wine.

Grind Ivory (Xiangya, 象牙) with water, apply into the eyes; effectively treats acne invading the eyes.

Treats blurred vision after acne.

Decoct in soup made from boiling pig liver and take orally.
