[Ophthalmology Diagrams] Treats sudden onset of red eyes, growth of pterygium, and internal pain. Take one good pear, crush and squeeze to extract juice. Take three pieces of Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), crush them, wrap in cotton, and soak in the pear juice until the color changes. Lie supine and instill the solution into the eyes.
[Essential Prescriptions from the Imperial Library] Mainly treats eye nebula and pterygium. Use the whitest Alum (Fan Shi). Place a grain-sized amount on the nebula and pterygium. Cold tears will immediately flow out; wipe clean with cotton until all foul discharge is removed. The disease will decrease daily, the nebula will naturally become thinner and disappear, leading to recovery. The Alum must be truly white to be effective.
[Thousand Golden Prescriptions] Formula for treating pterygium growing in the eye, with nebula covering both eyes and closed pupils.
Concha Margaritifera Recrudita (Beichi, seven pieces, calcined to powder), Pearl (Zhenzhu, equal proportion to Beichi powder).
