初生门
Jin Kou (Lockjaw/Inability to Suckle) presents with sores on the tongue resembling millet grains, difficulty in suckling milk, and a gradually weakening cry that becomes hard to emit. Qinggan Longdan Tang (Liver-Clearing Gentian Decoction) is extremely effective for this condition; if accompanied by abdominal hardness and constipation, Zishuang Wan (Purple Frost Pill) should be used. If there is salivation, tightness of the teeth, or lockjaw, applying the Ya Cha San (Tooth-Wiping Powder) externally yields good results, followed by administering Chensha Quanxie Jian (Cinnabar and Scorpion Decoction). Once the disease trend subsides slightly, avoid overdosing; first, regulate the spleen and stomach and harmonize qi.
[Note]
If the Jin Kou syndrome in infants is not treated promptly and correctly, it often leads to death. The clinical presentation includes sores on the tongue resembling millet grains, preventing the infant from suckling milk, and a gradually diminishing cry. This is caused by fetal heat. The treatment method should focus on clearing heat and promoting drainage, primarily using Longdan Tang (Gentian Decoction). If the abdomen is distended and hard, and both urination and defecation are obstructed, Zishuang Wan (Purple Frost Pill) should be used. Another variation involves foaming at the mouth and emergency tightness of the jaw (lockjaw); this is due to internal accumulation of fetal heat combined with external invasion of wind pathogen. One should first apply the Secret Formula Ya Cha San (Tooth-Wiping Powder) to wipe the jaw, and administer Chensha Quanxie San (Cinnabar and Scorpion Powder) via insufflation. Stop when the disease is addressed; do not overuse. After symptoms subside, thicken and harmonize the spleen and stomach, primarily using Yunqi San (Qi-Harmonizing Powder).

(Mi Fang Ya Cha San / Secret Tooth-Wiping Powder) Raw Tian Nan Xing (Arisaematis Rhizoma Preparatum) 2 qian, peeled and umbilicus removed; Nao Bing (Borneolum Syntheticum) a small amount. Grind the above into an extremely fine powder. Dip in fat, mix with fresh ginger juice, and rub against the tooth roots for immediate effect. If the jaw remains closed, mix the applicable medicines into a thin paste, place it in the mouth of a healthy person, insert a pen tube into the patient's nostril, and forcefully blow air to insufflate the medicine into the jaw, which will open immediately. This method possesses miraculous efficacy akin to immortality and must not be ignored.
(Chensha Quanxie San / Cinnabar and Scorpion Powder) Chen Sha (Cinnabaris) 5 fen, processed by water levigation; Quan Xie (Scorpio) 3 pieces, detoxified; Peng Sha (Borax), Nao Bing (Borneolum Syntheticum), She Xiang (Moschus) each 1 fen. Grind all into an extremely fine powder. Mix with the lactating mother's saliva and smear on the lips and teeth.
