Translation:
Clause: Hengyi (Horizontal Opacity) is located at the center of the pupil, shaped like the ridge of a sword, and white as silver. It is caused by internal deficiency with wind-heat attacking the brain, along with stomach heat and liver pathogenic factors, leading to blurred vision.
Treatment may involve formulas such as Huanjing Wan or Jueming Cheqian San, containing herbs such as Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus), Heishen (Black Ginseng), Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen) in Qibao San, Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Zhi Gancao (Prepared Licorice Root), Dansha (Cinnabar), Shijueming (Haliotidis Concha), Xijiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu), and Lingyangjiao (Capris Cornu).
Formula: Hengyi Huanjing Wan Formula
Shijueming (Haliotidis Concha) 1 liang, Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen) 1 liang, Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix) 2 liang, Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) 1 liang, Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) 2 liang, Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) 5 qian, Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus) 0.5 liang, Heishen (Black Ginseng) 1 liang, Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) 1 liang.
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder, mix with refined honey to make pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 3 qian with tea infusion on an empty stomach.
Qibao San Formula
Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen), Huahuanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma processed with honey? Note: Text says Huhuanglian, likely Hyoscyamus or similar, but standard is often Coptis. Given context of clearing heat, assuming generic "Hu" prefix might indicate foreign origin or specific processing, but strictly translating name: Huhuanglian), Dansha (Cinnabar), Shijueming (Haliotidis Concha), Gancao (Licorice Root) each 5 fen, Xijiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu) 1 qian, Lingyangjiao (Capris Cornu) 1 qian.
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Decoct with 2 cups of water until reduced to 1 cup. Strain and take warm after meals.
[Note] [1] Hengyi is also known as Jianjiyi (Spike-shaped Opacity). It protrudes from the center of the pupil outward, resembling the ridge of a sword, being thick in the middle and thin at the edges, horizontally obstructing the center of the pupil. Its color is white as silver.
[2] Due to internal deficiency, liver pathogens, and stomach heat rushing upward to the brain, brain fluid flows downward into the eye, causing internal cataracts. It is appropriate to take Huanjing Wan and Qibao San.
Clause: Seyi (Rough Opacity) is slightly red, with a color resembling congealed fat. The pupil remains upright but vision gradually deteriorates. There is frequent dull pain and dryness without tears. The opacity varies, sometimes gathering and sometimes dispersing, with no fixed shape.
Treatment may involve Huanjing San, containing Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Yuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Xi Cha (Fine Tea), and Chongweizi (Leonuri Fructus). Alternatively, Qibao Wan can be used combined with Zhenzhu (Pearl), Hupo (Amber), Shijueming (Haliotidis Concha), Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum), Chongweizi (Leonuri Fructus), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), and Xiong Dan (Ursi Bile).
Formula: Seyi Huanjing San Formula
Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen) 1.5 qian, Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) 1 qian, Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix) 1 qian, Yuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix) 1 qian, Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus) 5 fen, Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) 2 qian, Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) 1 qian, Xi Cha (Fine Tea) 2.5 qian, Chongweizi (Leonuri Fructus) 1 qian.
Grind the above ingredients into coarse powder. Decoct with 2 cups of water until reduced to 1 cup. Strain and take warm after meals.
Seyi Qibao Wan Formula
Zhenzhu (Margarita) 5 qian, Hupo (Electrum) 2 liang, Shijueming (Haliotidis Concha) 2 liang, Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum) 1 fen, Chongweizi (Leonuri Fructus) 1 liang, Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) 1 liang, Xiong Dan (Ursi Bile) 1 liang.
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder, mix with refined honey to make pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 1 qian with tea infusion before meals.
[Note] [1] In the condition of Seyi, the interior of the pupil is slightly red, resembling the color of congealed fat. The pupil position is upright, but vision gradually becomes dim. There is frequent dryness and pain without tear secretion. The opacity has no fixed form, sometimes gathering and sometimes dispersing. It is appropriate to first use Huanjing San, followed by Qibao Wan to internally dissipate the opacity.
