If cold pathogenic factors are contracted in winter but do not cause immediate illness, and then re-contract spring cold in spring, it is named Plague Disease (Wen Bing). The symptoms are the same as Cold Damage (Shang Han), treated with Shuangjie Tongsheng Tang to resolve both exterior and interior; if vomiting occurs, add fresh ginger (Shengjiang) and Pinellia Rhizome (Banxia), and the vomiting will stop naturally.
[Annotation]
Plague Disease (Wen Bing) refers to a condition where cold pathogenic factors are contracted in winter without immediate onset, and manifest in spring after re-contracting spring wind (wind pathogen).
The current manifestations are identical to those of Cold Damage (Shang Han); use Shuangjie Tongsheng Tang to simultaneously resolve exterior and interior pathogens.
In cases with vomiting, add fresh ginger (Shengjiang) and Pinellia Rhizome (Banxia) to the formula, and the vomiting will cease spontaneously.
(Shuangjie Tongsheng Tang) See the section on Cold Damage for the formula.

Cold pathogenic factors are contracted in winter without immediate illness, and the disease forms in summer after re-contracting summer-heat and dryness. The body does not feel aversion to cold but experiences excessive thirst. The syndrome is similar to Plague Disease (Wen Bing), and the treatment method is also the same.
[Annotation]
Heat Disease (Re Bing) is formed when cold pathogenic factors contracted in winter do not immediately cause illness, but manifest in summer after re-contracting summer-heat. Hence, it is named Heat Disease (Re Bing).
The current manifestations are similar to Plague Disease (Wen Bing), differing only slightly in that there is no aversion to cold and there is dry mouth with thirst. The treatment method is the same as that for Plague Disease (Wen Bing).
