疳证门
Heat from Gan syndrome (Gan accumulation disease) attacks the eyes upward, resulting in Eye Gan. During an episode, the eyelids are itchy and dry, the sclera is red and ulcerated, and the eyelids are swollen and painful. A nebula forms on the sclera, gradually covering the pupil, causing tearing, photophobia, and an inability to open the eyes.
Shujie Xiegan San (Draining Liver Powder for Dispersing and Resolving) is most effective for this condition; Qingre Tuiyi Tang (Clearing Heat and Removing Nebula Decoction) is potent for eliminating cloudiness. If the condition persists for a long time without improvement, nourishing methods should be employed, selecting either Xiaoyao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) or Xiegan San (Draining Liver Powder).
[Note]
Eye Gan refers to heat from Gan attacking the eyes. Therefore, upon onset, symptoms include itching and dryness of the eyelids, redness and ulceration, swelling and pain of the eyelids, formation of nebulae on the sclera that gradually obscure vision, frequent tearing, photophobia, and closing of the eyes. Initially, Xiegan San should be used to disperse and clear the pathogen, followed by Qingre Tuiyi Tang to eliminate the nebula. If the condition does not improve after a long duration, the treatment method should shift to regulating and tonifying, using Xiaoyao San, or primarily treating with Yanggan San (Sheep Liver Powder).
