[Supplementary Material]
Article: Myopia presents with blurred vision for near objects, while hyperopia presents with clear vision for distant objects. This condition arises from an excess of Yang Qi and a deficiency of Yin Essence. The treatment requires the use of Dizhi Wan (Cibotium Pill), which contains Zhiqiao (Bitter Orange Fruit), Juhua (Chrysanthemum Flower), Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Recens), and Tiandong (Asparagi Rhizoma).
Formula: Dizhi Wan (Cibotium Pill)
Ingredients: Zhiqiao (Bitter Orange Fruit, pulp removed) 3 liang, Juhua (Chrysanthemum Flower) 3 liang, Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Recens, baked dry) 4 liang, Tiandong (Asparagi Rhizoma, heart removed) 4 liang.
Preparation and Administration: Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Form pills using refined honey, sized like Sophora japonica seeds. Take 100 pills per dose, administered after meals with clear tea water.
Annotation [1]: "Able to see far but fearful of seeing near" refers to the ability to see distant objects clearly while experiencing blurriness when viewing near objects.
Annotation [2]: This is primarily due to an excess of Yang Qi and insufficient Yin Essence in the body, causing the visual brilliance to scatter and fail to converge on near objects.
Annotation [3]: It is appropriate to use Dizhi Wan to nourish Yin. Long-term administration will result in the natural recovery of the eyes.

Article: The growth of corneal opacities (Yi) is categorized as either favorable (Shun) or unfavorable (Ni), with positions varying above or below. Favorable cases present with opacities drooping from top to bottom; unfavorable cases present with opacities surging from bottom to top. After surgical removal of the opacity via hooking or cutting, Zhimu Yinzi (Anemarrhenae Decoction) should be administered, containing Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), and Chongweizi (Leonuri Fructus).
Formula: Zhimu Yinzi (Anemarrhenae Decoction)
Ingredients: Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, stir-fried) 2 qian, Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus) 5 fen, Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) 1 qian, Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) 1 qian, Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen) 2 qian, Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix) 1 qian, Chongweizi (Leonuri Fructus) 2 qian.
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely grind the above ingredients. Add two cups of water and decoct until one cup remains. Strain and take warm after meals.
Annotation [1]: Regarding favorable and unfavorable corneal opacities: Opacities dropping from the upper direction to the lower direction, invading the black eye (cornea), are termed favorable; those surging from the lower direction to the upper direction, invading the black eye, are termed unfavorable.
Annotation [2]: Favorable cases are easy to stabilize and treat; unfavorable cases are difficult to treat.
Annotation [3]: Both types are suitable for initial surgical removal of the opacity membrane via hooking or cutting techniques, followed by the administration of Zhimu Yinzi to clear internal heat.

Article: Deep-rooted nail-like opacities form within the eye, hard like a nail head, causing extreme pain. Symptoms include redness, dryness, photophobia, and frequent tearing. This results from toxic heat in the Liver and Heart organs surging upward to the pupil. Treatment involves administering Chure Yinzi (Heat-Removing Decoction), which contains Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Chongweizi (Leonuri Fructus), Heishen (Ginseng Radix Rubra), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), and Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix).
