Chong Tu (Vomiting due to Parasites): Vomiting caused by parasites may result from Stomach Heat or Stomach Cold. Symptoms include changes in the color of vomitus, intermittent abdominal pain, and frequent vomiting of clear saliva. Cold and Heat patterns should be differentiated based on Yin and Yang principles. The Huachong Wan (Parasite-Destroying Pill) with modifications is curative for heat patterns, while the Jiawei Lizhong Tang (Modified Cinnamon Twig and Ginger Decoction) is curative for cold patterns.
[Note]
There are two types of Chong Tu (Vomiting due to Parasites): one caused by the steaming of Heat in the Stomach Meridian, and the other by the forcing of Cold in the Stomach Meridian. Both conditions can cause parasites to become restless, disturb the Stomach, and induce vomiting. Symptoms include lips that are either red or white, intermittent pain at the epigastrium, and frequent vomiting of clear saliva. Whether it belongs to Cold or Heat must be distinguished through differentiation of Yin and Yang syndromes. For Heat patterns, Huachong Wan (Parasite-Destroying Pill) is the primary prescription; for Cold patterns, Jiawei Lizhong Tang (Modified Cinnamon Twig and Ginger Decoction) is the primary prescription.
