《短剧方》治诸鲠方∶
猪膏如鸡子大吞之，不瘥复吞，不过再三便去。（今按∶《葛氏方》治草芥诸噎。）
又方∶取薤白汤，煮半熟，小嚼之令柔，以系绳系中央。提绳置，即吞薤白下喉，牵出
哽，即随出也。
又方∶取虎骨烧作屑，温白饮服方寸匕，良。若无骨，可用虎牙齿亦佳。
《葛氏方》治杂哽方∶
作竹篾，刮，令弱滑以绵，缠纳喉中至哽处， 之，哽当随出。（今按∶《短剧方》云∶
进退牵引。）
又方∶刮东壁土，以酒和服。
又方∶蝼蛄，炙燥，末为屑，东流水服之即出。
又云∶治饮食遇草芥诸物哽方∶
随哽所近边耳，令人吹。
又方∶好蜜匕抄稍咽之，令下。
又方∶解衣带因， 下部即出。
又方∶末瞿麦，服方寸匕。
又方∶以皂荚屑，少少吹纳鼻中，使得嚏哽出，秘方。
《葛氏方》治误吞竹木叉遵辈者方∶
吞蝼蛄脑即出。
又方∶但数多食白糖，自消去。
《葛氏方》治误吞钗方∶
取韭，曝令萎，煮令熟，勿切食之。入东钗随出。
又方∶生麦菜，若薤蓟缕皆可食。若是竹钗者；但数数多食白糖，自随去。
又方∶以银钗竹替筋物摘吐，因气吸吞不出方。
多食白糖渐渐至十斤，当裹物自出。
《短剧方》治吞银环及钗者方。
取白糖二斤，渐食尽即出。
又方∶取水银一两，分三服，银环便下去。
又方∶以胡粉一两，和水银一两，治调，分再服。水银能消金银。
The *Duanju Fang* (Short Drama Formulas) treats various cases of foreign body impaction in the throat:
Swallow a piece of pig lard (Su, 猪脂) the size of a chicken egg. If not cured, swallow again; within two or three times, it will be expelled. (Note: The *Ge Shi Fang* (Ge's Formulas) treats various obstructions caused by grass and thorns.)
Another formula: Take decoction of Allium macrostemon Bulb (Xiebai, 薤白), boil until half-cooked, chew slightly to make it soft, tie a string around the center. Hold the string in place, then swallow the Xiebai, pulling the string to draw out the impacted object, which will come out with it.
Another formula: Burn tiger bone (Hugu, 虎骨) into powder, take one cun-bi (a square-inch measure) with warm water. It is effective. If tiger bone is unavailable, tiger tooth (Huyachi, 虎牙齿) is also good.
The *Ge Shi Fang* treats miscellaneous cases of food impaction:
Make a bamboo strip, scrape it smooth and soft, wrap it with cotton, insert it into the throat reaching the site of impaction, and move it back and forth to pull; the impacted object should come out with the movement. (Note: The *Duanju Fang* states: "Move back and forth to pull.")
Another formula: Scrape soil from the east wall, mix with wine, and take orally.
Another formula: Roast mole (Lougu, 蝼蛄) until dry, grind into powder, take with flowing water from the east; it will be expelled immediately.
It also says: To treat food impaction caused by grass, thorns, etc.:
Blow air into the ear on the side closest to the site of impaction.
Another formula: Scoop high-quality honey with a spoon, swallow slowly to help the object go down.
Another formula: Untie the belt and press downward on the lower abdomen; the object will be expelled.
Another formula: Grind Shepherd's Purse Herb (Qumai, 瞿麦) into powder, take one cun-bi.
Another formula: Grind Soap Pod (Zaojia, 皂荚) into fine powder, blow a small amount into the nose to induce sneezing, expelling the impacted object with the sneeze. This is a secret formula.
The *Ge Shi Fang* treats cases of accidentally swallowing bamboo, wood, forks, needles, etc.:
Swallow the brain of the mole (Lougu, 蝼蛄); the object will be expelled.
Another formula: Simply eat large amounts of white sugar frequently; the object will dissolve and pass naturally.
The *Ge Shi Fang* treats cases of accidentally swallowing hairpins:
Take Chinese Chives (Jiu, 韭), wilt them by sun-drying, boil until cooked, do not cut, eat directly. An iron pin will be expelled along with it.
Another formula: Eat raw wheat vegetables, or shredded Allium macrostemon (Xie, 薤) and Thistle (Ji, 蓟). If it is a bamboo pin, simply eat large amounts of white sugar frequently; it will be expelled naturally.
Another formula: For cases where silver pins or bamboo splinters cause vomiting attempts but cannot be expelled due to inhalation and swallowing:
Eat large amounts of white sugar gradually up to ten jin (approx. 5-6 kg); the substance wrapping the object will naturally facilitate its expulsion.
The *Duanju Fang* treats swallowing silver rings and hairpins:
Take two jin of white sugar, eat it gradually; the object will be expelled.
Another formula: Take one liang of Mercury (Shuiyin, 水银), divide into three doses; the silver ring will descend and be expelled.
Another formula: Mix one liang of Lead Carbonate (Hufen, 胡粉) with one liang of Mercury (Shuiyin, 水银), blend well, divide into two doses. Mercury can dissolve gold and silver.
